Totally agree. Every single person watching this vlog has never owned, ridden or spent any significant period of time with Ember so they have no right to criticise. Every horse is different and you need to work out what works for you & them in a partnership. Particularly difficult sometimes when you have a horse that starts off in racing where all they are taught to do is run flat out with little thinking & then he is now having to learn a new way of going which includes changes of pace & drive, stopping, thinking, and having regular conversations with the person on his back. From when you first got him you've come so far! Well done, keep going 😊

My pony was a bit like ember in a gag, I’ve now put her in a Waterford snaffle and it’s made the world of difference and she doesn’t crank her head up in the air anywhere near as badly!! Could be something to consider. You’re so brave taking him out xc!! X

Absolutely adore rewatching the video with Justine, it's really nice to listen to her feedback & see what she's spotting (I would have never noticed the back legs bit). It's also worth noting the fact Ember has changed (as you've both said you wouldn't have evented him before) & so you aren't dealing with the same issues you had when you originally swapped to your current bit. Doesn't mean the bit is wrong or bad, just means situations have changed & now it may be time to move on.
I have a similar ex racehorse turned eventer-in-training and found expert bits comfy barrel universal really helpful with his high head! Great XC round, Ember definitely not lacking scope!😅
The Toggi clothes look fantastic!!! My Ember diet is going well. Am down from 115kg to 75kg. Nearly there. Looking forward to having my own Ember. Justine gives great advice.

I have a VW Atlas that is an amazing car. It tows my Equitrek Apollo really well, seats 7, has tons of room for dogs, equipment etc. Not sure they have those in the UK (I am in Canada) but I am sure they have something similar from VW.
Ignore people talking about your bit. Until they’ve ridden a fiery ginger ex racer they have no right to comment. I had one and she was a mare so even more spicy! She was put in a hanging cheek and it solved a lot of problems like you’re experiencing with Ember, And as long as you’re a capable rider who knows what they’re doing stronger bits aren’t an issue.
I've tried various bitless and quite often go out with a headcollar cos it s easy to stop and ha ve a snack...BUT ... if the pony pulls I think pressure on the nose is much harsher than pressure on the mouth. Suggest people try it . Just pusb on your nose and see if you think it s ok

I've never had a car with heated seats. Blind spit monitors are my absolute must for cars. I LOVE them. Personally use what keeps you safe. But just don't use a Pelham with converters. There's no reason to it defeats the point of the pelham
Probably you should just go cross country in a neck rope on Ember. Why just get rid of the bit when you could eliminate the whole bridle?!? (Eye roll, sigh... )

have you thought about using a kineton noseband on ember? may help with brakes but also bring his head down x
