I have a template like that somewhere in a box. The days when we thought about what we were doing instead of pounding on keyboards.

I understand that the engineers "washing their hands" of the consequences of the challenger debacle can be seen as deeply disturbing. The pilots lives were on the line, for one, and if the vehicle exploded on the launchpad or crashed into onlookers or a populated area, the carnage would've presumably been even greater.
    *However*
It is absolutely possible that *had* the engineers whistleblown, that they could've been tried for treason. Especially with the political climate at the time - not that that has become any better, as can be seen when we take the case study of Snowden.

Yeah, you know what they say, "opinions are like assholes". This guy is in dictionary next to that. The engineers did their job. Cronkite wasn't going to stop any launch. Martin thinks he would have saved the world in any one else's shoes. This is the typical 80/90s blowhard developer that sucks the air out of the room and ruins team chemistry. I can smell this guy through the browser. He stinks. He'll be right some of the time, but most of the time, he'll waste everyone's time listening to himself talk.

50 years of knowing how to write better software, many books written, and we still don't do it.
