Great review. I really love this shoe. But all I have read is negative review on how it is not the same shoe it was. I say, Thank Goodness. I found this shoe to run better as I increased my pace as well.
I agree with how you say it goes at different paces. Glideride and shift are what I would put this shoe in the same category. I think they were close on this one but a few things put unnecessary weight to it.
Love the reviews! Just need to hear long term reviews from other Shoetuber. Im locked in for the Adios 6 but your video is giving the Boston a chance. Did it really soften up over time, some reviews say that heel part is giving some unwanted shock.
Not a ton of softening over time. Certainly a more firm ride. Just a touch of softening of the upper, rods, and foam. Another one of our reviewers, Matt, has over 100 miles on his. You can see his review on our website: doctorsofrunning.com
Hi there, I bought them last week and have tried them twice and they are killing my feet. I was going to stop using them, but is it really a matter of "breaking them in"?
I loved the old Boston. But I can run further, faster and in complete comfort in the 10th version. I agree that you cannot judge the shoe without breaking it in.
The description reminds me of the Saucony Ride 14. I find those slightly too firm for daily runs so I didn't buy it. Do you think the Boston 10 will work for me? I tried the Boston 10 in-store, walked in it a bit and found them to be very firm, nothing like the Adios 6 that I love. So I need some faith that it would break in and soften up. Can anyone who has experience in this shoe tell me if the Boston 10 will be softer than the Ride 14 please?
I have Ride 14. Ride 14 feels flat after wearing Boston 10. I feel you need to work harder in Ride 14. Not a bad thing, but I tend to wear Ride 14 for shorter runs or beginning of the week, Boston 10 for longer or end of the week when my legs are tired.
Even if my size is the correct one, I have the feeling that the heel goes up and down. Lacing is not helping, I have to put it very tight to improve this point. I think you mentioned the same issue. Have you feel an improvement after several runs? Maybe it is only affecting at the first trials.
It might run nice, but it doesn't feel nice. In my experience, it is a very firm and stiff shoe and you really need to exert a lot of energy to experience the benefits of the pro foam. If compared to other trainers, like the Rebel, Novablast, or even Invincible (since those are shoes I've tried), they are not a shoe that I consider to be pleasant. But I would agree, the shoes really open up although for me that happened only after 150 miles. Maybe I'm to light of a runner...?
That seems to be the consensus. It's, apparently, much more suited for heavier runners. Which is awesome. I'm getting mine in a few days. Very excited to try them.
Do you have a preference between the Boston 10 and the Endorphin Shift for a daily trainer? I tend to like a firmer ride as well so interested in these two.
Is it relatively stable? I enjoy the nb prism and the glycerin 19gts at the moment with more holistic and mild stability options, wondered if this would be similar
Great shoe, still better for me than the 11 and 12.. It’s the perfect wild horse.. Superblast is the only shoe that beats it maybe draws level!.. My wild horse ❤ 85kg, forefoot/midfoot.. You are the only ones that said it was good?! Why do you think every copy and paster ‘ran’ with the agenda to belittle the shoe?
I'm curious as to why the heel has worn down so fast, at 100 miles that's ridiculous. I hope adidas has another shoe in the pipeline. I think they have missed an opportunity. Why not make a low stack shoe with lightstrike pro and a torsion system, maybe 2mm of lightstrike on the bottom for support. Sometimes I wonder is Adidas really that serious about running shoes.
On the wear, for what it's worth Matt is known as the Destroyer for how aggressively he wears shoes. We're working on doing a few comparisons this year to explore how different his wear is from some of our team's lighter footstriking runners.
I tried it yesterday. Has an incredible high midsole and zero cushioning. Why on Earth they put such a stack if they will make it hard as concrete? They killed the shoe.
Very valid question. We are going to create an article on stack height. There’s a lot of misconceptions about cushioning and we want to try and address that.
I personally don’t like high stacked shoes that are too cushy and marshmallowy. They make my feet sore in certain spots after wearing them for a while.
@@madfemurfast have you tried adios pro 2? I got a pair and haven’t worn them yet. I believe it has more cushion compared to its training little cousin Boston 10.
@@wonkydonkey7899 I have not. I have the NB FuelCell RC Elite v1 and due to COVID19 and no races they have little mileage, not really for another "super shoe" just yet. But while I am a huge Adidas fan (and boost fan) this year I do not think any of the shoes on this line are for me.
I have both shoes. Both are true to size for my US10. Lockdown is better on the Boston 10 because of its gusseted tongue. The Magicspeed do not have. Weight wise, Magicspeed beats the Boston 10 as it is a very minimal shoe, less padding in heel and very thin upper. Run wise, Boston 10 is springier at faster pace. Magicspeed runs more like a firm but can pick up the pace. Both shoes have enough space in the toebox.
I just finished my first run (20km) in the Boston 10 and agree that they are good daily trainers. Just the right amount of cussion for my 85kg.
Probably the most on-point review of the shoe! Good job!
This is a shoe that rewards patience, which (not to be overly negative) MANY current runners in the online running community do not have.

Thanks for the in depth review and now considering the Boston 10’s as I keep hearing the same thing as in they just need to breaking in

@@McFred1065 hmm good point. Don’t want to run the risk of injury before they work so to speak

Good review but I feel I may not be for me. I am interested in the Asics NovaBlast 2 having enjoyed the original NovaBlast

I don't think they are stable... and somehow thought just used them twice, they are killing my feet and I don't get the reason...
Do you have a comparison between the Boston 10 and the Nike Tempo Next Percent?
We have not tested the Tempo Next% sorry!
does a firm high stack shoe like the boston 10 protect your legs more than a more v3 or invincible?
How does this compare to the Nike Tempo Next%?
Our team has not tested the Tempo Next%. Sorry!

What you describe sounds more like the Adios 6

@@wonkydonkey7899 I agree, as they become unstable. But these have zero, really zero cushioning. You may as well run barefoot and save the money.

How does this compare with the Asics magic speed : Ride, Fit, Mid sole reaction with slow and fast?
