Almost seven years in your van. You look healthy and happy (and we’ll groomed!!). It’s very impressive. You’ve found a life that suits you. And you make great content. Keep it up!
I am so happy when you upload a new video. Just enjoy your personality and easy going style. I am trying to learn how to be more at peace with myself from you.
Ice cream....great way to end the day....after living in my 2012 2 door jeep wrangler for the past 5 months I finally found an affordable van, 2019 Ram Promaster low roof , 136 wheelbase. Wow it's like living in a castle after living in my jeep . Looking forward to wandering out west in approx 12 months . Thanks Scott for helping me build my knowledge and courage , I think your channel helps a lot of people , more so then you may realize 😀 👍
I like how you took some time to think about your purchase. It's a good thing in tight times for people to realize the importance of controlling impulse buys. I mean, why rush? Thanks. Love the videos.

You have nice big wide roads in America, I'm jealous! Here in England, they are nearly all narrow and windy lanes (in the country) and in the city, there're not that much bigger. Only the motorways are a little wider (you would call them Highways). Thanks for sharing.
I lived in Costa Mesa a while, along with Corona del Mar and Irvine, so there were a lot of familiar things in this video, like my bank in the background at Harbor and Baker. And I've been in that Ikea. I'm outside Yuma as I write this and my plan has been to pick up a package in Quartzsite on Monday then head to the Coast - probably that same Costa Mesa/Newport Beach/Huntington Beach area. Too bad I didn't time things better so we could meet up. Now I just need to remember whether I got Yellow Bird at Vons or Ralphs.
Well I am very happy to hear you are making a run for the coast, my friend. Who knows where I’ll be, send me an email when you get out to the Best Coast. Just a guess but a lot of Kroger stores stock Yellowbird. Although, REI usually has a better price than Ralphs.

Hello, When we lived in Austria and France, everyone had duvets and we all aired them out in the sun and they were freshened by the ozone and sun. That's how most people do it there today. Yes of course we wash them but airing them out like this preserves them. You know, you eat better than most people with stick homes. I enjoy your coffee time and meals. I love seeing the scenery wherever you go. I think you live a beautiful life.
So fun to see little glimpses of OC, especially with that gorgeous blue sky and golden sunshine. I grew up in Anaheim, and Newport was a favorite beach. I can't remember seeing a Randy's Donuts down there. I thought that was an LA thing.
Another great video Scott ..im enjoying your channel immensely. I listen while I work. I’m a full time reseller 😊 and youtube creator so countless hours at the computer, thanks for making it more enjoyable! I especially liked the music when you headed out to Ikea .
I always like to watch one of your videos when I’m drinking my coffee or eating lunch or whatever. I was glad to see you go back for the duvet. 👍🏻 I hope you’re having a great day! 😁
Here's an easy way to put on a duvet cover: Turn it inside out. Put your hand in one corner and grab the duvet corner, pull the cover over. Repeat for the other side, then pull the duvet all the way over. Hope this helps. :) Jon in rural BC, Canada
I grew up in Costa Mesa. The neighborhood you slept the second night in is real close to a friend of mine’s house, and the Japanese store you went in is just around the block from my Junior High. Costa Mesa has grown a lot since I grew up there. Never thought of it as a big city, but maybe it is now.
To be honest, since I don’t know the area very well, the lines between Costa Mesa and Irvine are a blur. The two cities feel like one to me. And the 55 is non-stop traffic. Which I forgot about until it was too late. Haha
let everyone else stay in the dessert, I would do the same as you and be where the action is. I am going to google map how far the ocean is from where you are as I would spend the days lazing around the beach as well as shopping during the day. ! am still working part time but looking forward to my full retirement and then hit the road too. have fun Static!
Great purchase of your duvet cover, it looks good! Glad you had a productive day, inspite of being tired, I know how that works. Be safe on your travels.
I agree with you Scott on doing your own thing 👍 everyone thinks you have to follow the RUclips vanlife handbook but I live this life for the doors it opens and allows me to do what I want when I want. If I wanted the cookie cutter pre-planned life I just go back to a house and 9 to 5 grind that's just my thoughts. Safe travels
Congrats on your new duvet purchase ! I love to make my sleep space especially nice by treating myself to more luxurious linens than I would typically purchase, when I can anyway 😎 We deserve it !
Scott, we have the sun out today here in Western New York but the temperature as of this comment is 36 degrees, it will be get up to 40. I can’t wait for Spring and Summer to arrive. Your Southern Cal videos reminds me of what’s coming. Take care my friend and enjoy that duvet
I'm still catching up with your past videos. Man, I love this channel, it is now my favorite, eclipsing SW, RA2.0, and KOAT (won't use full names out of respect). I am a coffee fanatic also so these segments resonate with me. To me, nothing is better than a great cup of coffee, and scenic outside seating (people and nature-watcher). Cool. Take care.
Good stuff, with your duvet, try putting the button through the other side of the button hole, it will hide the bottoms inside and that might help keep the buttons from catching things.
I agree with u Scott, doing van life in the city for me is much more convenient. This goes all the way back to finding and outfitting ur rig. With hanging out in the desert ur rig has to be more equipped to function which adds to ur rig cost. There are countless number of cheap or free things to keep u going in the city. Hey if u worried about being around people just don't talk to them, I don't. I think the only people I talk with are the people working at the local coffee shop. Worrying about breaking down in the desert would be become too much of a burden. For the last yr and a half been at the beach on the west coast in cities. Am in a commercial looking step van and the only thing I spend money on is gas, food and personal items for everyday life. Have never paid to park anywhere for the night. City parking is just to easy to pass up, just park where its allowed be smart. Yeah, desert sunsets are cool but....... Take care and see u down the road.
Thanks for sharing your experience I just ran across this video new subscriber I seen your newer videos that's really cool you feel comfortable parking and sleeping in residential neighborhoods with doors unlocked and having good conversations with people. I seen a lot of vanlifers that have bad experiences with residents good for you sir
Scott, You seem comfortable and satisfied with your choices. I enjoy the transparency you afford in your videos. I hope you can rest sufficiently in your city van life. I am a light sleeper and would hear every noise from traffic. I learned to use soothing sounds on you tube to help me sleep. I listen to rain and thunderstorms or ocean waves on videos. Quiet is good for falling asleep. Your bodies senses will tell you what it needs.

I heat my Costco tortillas directly to my electric stove top coils. Sometimes leaving a dark residue that needs to be burned off at a later time. I like a darkened tortilla.

Hi as I've said before I'd got a 2002 mitsibishi express van older engine uses a little oil to this helps me that if I pressure wash my engine occasionally washing off the excess build up of grime the engine tends to run a little cooler and uses slightly less of oil on hot days and steap grades but try to find a hose that is not to High pressure so you don't get any components loosened or damp in electric joins or get the low cost engine cleaner or a small bottle of kerosene and put in a spray bottle and wash at your local service station it does make alot of difference to your fuel economy as well as oil consumption I save about 5 Australian dollars every 500 miles by just keeping my engine clean just an idea. Ps. My dad says it's no good knowing things if they don't work or you can't pass them on😊
My engine doesn’t leak oil, it burns it. The engine has a factory recall because of major issues. But Chrysler has so far declined to honor the warranty for me
Last travel nursing gig I didn't have a microwave for about six months. I learned that pretty much anything that needs heated up can be done in a better way than the microwave. I was always going to get one at a thrift or something but just never ended up needing one. I honestly use my air fryer at home here more than a microwave. Actually hoping to bring a small one along with me because they are so versatile. Have always done tortillas on the stove, though with an electric stove I just heat them in a dry frying pan. Yuck, a microwave makes them all hard and weird on the edges. Okay, cooking nerd done...I will be a city van dweller as well so it's great to see this.
A buddy of mine uses an air-fryer in his van. I don’t have enough solar and battery power to run one. But I really like my stove so it’s not like I’m needing anything else.
Yes, I agree. Probably something I should have done. At almost seven years into vanlife, I have changed a lot. For instance, I haven’t had a shower in over two months.
From the Ikea website, the Twin Luroy slats are Length: 75 1/4 " Width: 37 3/4 " Height: 2 1/8 ". Idk what the shorter slats are for, maybe a child/toddler bed? But the listing is just showing you were to find the other sizes of slats. recommended for Mattress length: 74 3/8 " Mattress width: 37 3/4 "
Saturdays are a special treat to watch a new video and be inspired by your laidback positive attitude! Again, l live in a fishbowl of a big city so l fully relate to your preference for smaller populated areas. Also, l moved from one huge metropolitan city to a bigger metropolitan city with current one not having IKEA but in former one l lived FIVE minutes drive from IKEA. IKEA had planned to build one in current city but backed out of doing so for whatever reason so don`t know exactly what that was all about unless fear factor set in of getting lost in this giant maze of a concrete jungle. Also, how do you keep your van so white and clean, do you visit car washes frequently while in a city? I brew coffee in a Mr. COFFEEMAKER, I can actually hear your loud groan over cyberspace. I never do measurements so sometimes my cup of coffee is enjoyable and sometimes it goes down the sink drain. I love the chocolate ice cream dessert, l treated myself with buying Haagen-Dazs milk chocolate and vanilla ice cream bars. Hey, it is Valentine's in a few days and my birthday this month so no guilt whatsoever. Also, l had the same restless night of sleep as you but just wait until you get my age and cat naps become the norm. And l am really, truly disappointed you didn't go with the woodland creatures duvet cover, l am positive images of Bambee and friends romping in the forest would have given you sweet and restful dreams. Just be thankful you didn't have "Grandma" as your shopping buddy! God Bless!
Oddly, white vehicles appear cleaner than they actually are. I rarely wash my van. Mr. Coffee isn’t terrible but they don’t provide consistent water temperature, so that fluctuation can dramatically change every pot of coffee brewed. The dinosaur cover was superior.
Costa Mesa is just a city in the metropolis of south Los Angeles. Try just a mile (north?) Fountain Valley, many quiet neighborhoods. Area surrounding Mile Square Park is probably okay. Huntington Beach is close, but sometimes the police can be inquisitive. Irvine has some nice neighborhoods that might be suitable. Near the "back bay" has apartments that you may "fit in" street parking.
I watch a lot of RV/Van life RUclipsrs and I have some favorites. I just found you and I already like you! Great personality. I will be living the same lifestyle soon too! I’m going to now see if you have videos on how you make your coffee 😊
Hello Scott, aka STEVE, I hope this lil note finds you safe, happy, and content. I don't know how you feel about a tiny bit of sewing, but if you're up for it, you could replace those button's on your duvay, with some wide ribbon ties. Or you could use velcrow, Just a thought... And also I like to buy my cheese, usually in pkgs of individually wrapped cheese sticks, even though I really don't like over packaging, normally. But being a single person, i find that if I buy cheese in larger pieces it ends up molding before I can use it all. Sometimes, we have to pick our battles,.lol but you may be perfectly happy with your current system... no biggy...just some thoughts to take or leave. Hugs! 🥀🤗🥀
Thank you very much. Your videos are so good. They make my life better, really. I have a wife and three children, and I love them all. But your videos are every time such a great inspiration. Hello. When I heard that RAM has discontinued the ProMaster City. Figured I better get the last model year of this great van. Traded my 2016 for the 2022. I'll let you know if it still burns oil. Aloha and many blessings.
I know this video was released a while ago but just wanted to comment on your hunt for an affordable duvet cover. I just found a great duvet set at Goodwill on a Monday when the color of the week from the previous week is 75% off so I paid less than $5 for a Nate Bermuda duvet set!! I love buying used to help save the landfills Love your content just found your channel recently
I've read too much about fabric "sizing" chemicals. If it's a fabric item that can be washed without destroying it, I do before prolonged contact with my skin.
I don't see the appeal of the dessert? But hey we don't have them here in the uk so don't know. Am in a campsite in the countryside just now with my coffee about to sleep after watching this vlog, take care Toni😊
I'm subscribed and have the notification feature selected but have not been notified re: recent videos! LOL on the dinosaurs and kitty cats!!! Yay choice!👍 😎🇨🇦

As I'm a MICHIGANDER & a hear source a must. Tossing ideas of diesel heater or the Olympian. My first transit connect is tiny like yours. Definitely going to volley over some good 🫘 bean☕. Going to binge watch a few more. Have never benn in IKEA I can't wait,,,,Happy travels
Haha ☕️. Diesel heaters are great and maybe better suited for your colder climate. Not sure if you read about the budget catalytic heater in the Olympian Heater video description. It might be a good way to try out a catalytic heater before investing in an Olympian Wave. I also think either catalytic heater would be an excellent accompaniment to a diesel heater.

But Chrysler has so far declined to honor the warranty for me
Wow, skulk. Great word.
Have you tried Black Himalayan Salt? It's got an eggy flavor to it and not too salty. I highly recommend it as a finishing salt.
I have not. Sounds interesting
I was told always wash a new item you buy before use......the chemicals used in production, etc.......................................
Agreed
Quite correct
same
Yes, I agree.
Hey Thanks for the research
You are absolutely right.
I watch a lot of RV/Van life RUclipsrs and I have some favorites. I just found you and I already like you! Great personality. I will be living the same lifestyle soon too! I’m going to now see if you have videos on how you make your coffee 😊
Hey Thanks. Most of my videos have lots of coffee making ☕️
Another excellent video Scott. Instead of Tillamook cheddar cheese have you ever tried Cabot from Vermont? They have a white cheddar.
I’ve tried Cabot. Tillamook is still my preference
Love the woodland creatures
I agree, city vanlife is good
If you don't find the right duvey, you can get 2 Flat sheets& sew the ends around3 sides& put your comforter in!👍✌️🤞🙌🙏🇺🇸🌅🌄🌞
I’m not good at sewing. Tried it and failed 😂
Hello Scott, aka STEVE,
I hope this lil note finds you safe, happy, and content.
I don't know how you feel about a tiny bit of sewing, but if you're up for it, you could replace those button's on your duvay, with some wide ribbon ties. Or you could use velcrow,
Just a thought...
Hugs!

I was in Costco two days ago and they had yellow bird and I bought some because of you and it's excellent thanks
Awesome, Yellowbird is apparently gaining popularity. Glad you like it
Costco has big packs of triple a batteries, they are pretty reasonable for duracell.
I’m using rechargeable batteries now. They seem to work better for me
What may confuse people is that most of your opening photos are of wilderness.
Thank you very much. Your videos are so good. They make my life better, really. I have a wife and three children, and I love them all. But your videos are every time such a great inspiration. I listen and look forward to them, always. Thank you and keep on going. Good bless you, greetings from switzerland
That is so nice to read. Thank you Fabian
I bought the twin slats and they def weren’t that small. The website says the twin is 37.75” wide by 75.25” long. Best of luck w the new bed build!
Apparently I was reading the infant bed size. I’m still mulling over the rebuild. Might put it off for a while. Thanks
Why do I like this channel?! 🧐
Oh Ikea! Love Ikea!❤
when my friend parked on a residential street someone called the police and they made him leave.
I thought you would of gone for the dinosaur duvet lol.loving these vids so much. My diesel pump has gone on my van so I'm screwed until I can afford it new one UK prices are stupid in afraid. But at least I'm in a amazing park up with shops not to far away. Stay safe my friend
Wishing you a quick and easy fix
Have you ever had breakfast at IKEA?
Years ago. I am not able to eat at IKEA anymore. But then, I really can’t eat out anywhere
You forgot your Coffee ☕🌞✌️
Yes , a city van lifer. I’d be out far in the country !
Next time use Google lens to find a similar one online and have them send it to your nearest store. You'll save some good money that way.
Hello. When I heard that RAM has discontinued the ProMaster City. Figured I better get the last model year of this great van. Traded my 2016 for the 2022. I'll let you know if it still burns oil. Aloha and many blessings.
Hopefully they got the changes done to yours. Congrats
I know this video was released a while ago but just wanted to comment on your hunt for an affordable duvet cover. I just found a great duvet set at Goodwill on a Monday when the color of the week from the previous week is 75% off so I paid less than $5 for a Nate Bermuda duvet set!! I love buying used to help save the landfills
Love your content just found your channel recently
Great deal! I don’t regret getting this one, but not as good a deal as you got.
That was supposed to be Nate Berkus not Bermuda HaHa
It’s all greek to me, haha
The have 5 lbs bags of Botan Calrose rice at Stater brothers markets. Sometimes at Walmart too.
I've read too much about fabric "sizing" chemicals. If it's a fabric item that can be washed without destroying it, I do before prolonged contact with my skin.
I don't see the appeal of the dessert? But hey we don't have them here in the uk so don't know. Am in a campsite in the countryside just now with my coffee about to sleep after watching this vlog, take care
Toni😊
YOU SO GOOD AND CHARISMATIC AMD PURE🌞
Toss the cabbage in with the potatoes and carnitas the last minute, breaks the fiber in the cabbage and makes it yummier 😅
Good idea. Only I'm not a big fan of cooked cabbage. I like the crunch and freshness of raw cabbage
Glad to see you bought rubber bands!! Thx for your videos!
Thanks for watching
Options are always good!
I'm subscribed and have the notification feature selected but have not been notified re: recent videos! LOL on the dinosaurs and kitty cats!!! Yay choice!👍 😎🇨🇦
The 🦖🦕 duvet was pretty nice 😂
Hey you got to have the yellow bird ;)
We. MUST WE MUST,, HAVE A ☕ OFF"😁,,,I JUST PICKED up my hand grinder. I'm a new subscriber, this 3rd vid I watched. The first was about the Olympian heater.
😁thank u,, I'm at the pnw trip you took, now in Washington "Seattle" 🙃 as u said, I could dig the 70° consistent Gaia 🌎 love , but the power source lack I get. Have a BBY Jackery givin to me, and a big bluetti DEAL come payday. I am disabled♿ but mobile, & work part time for the state. Goal is, to tech savvy my way into RUclips, green as a bean there. & Shy, I can squeak by on my disability income, doing the minimal miles and serenity, ☕ cheers,,,till we swap the elixir of life! 🤟 Safe journies
Coffee amnesia!!! Ha! ☕️😱
