- In 2012, we moved the installed OS under `/usr`, merging `/bin` into `/usr/bin` and `/sbin` into `/usr/sbin`, implementing [UsrMove](fedoraproject..... But the split between `/usr/sbin` and `/usr/bin` remained. In 2024, we made the decision to merge `/usr/sbin` into `/usr/bin`, finally getting rid of the legacy subdivision of directories.
In this talk, I'll discuss why we want to do this, how it's being implemented, and how it is going.

This is why I have hope for Linux: Fedora is paving the way. Finally, they are saying 'enough is enough'; let's move away from the old vestigial remnants. We gotta clean it up brotha'.

systemd is cancer.
Unless I am logged in to admin, I don't want visudoer in my path, I do not want ldconfig in my path, I do not want e2fsck in my path. If I need to use those types of commands, I am either logged in as root or am using sudo - both of which add /usr/sbin:/sbin to the path. So...WTF? Why forces my path as a regular user to have all kinds of admin tools in it?
