Since I am retired and my daughter works full time, I make enough for us and share the rest with her and her family. My Mother-in-law did that for us when I-was working.
Love that!
I will be trying that stool idea tomorrow night when I cook dinner. I will let you know how it works. I stopped doing anything at Christmas. Long sad story. What I will share is that between me, my older sister, and my mom, we were quite the cooks. I never learned how to really cook meals until recently, but I was quite the baker, so my older sister is the cook, I am the baker (I bake better than I cook), and my mom learned how to make candies. Mom is now gone, but I can make some candies, but my sister has me make the desserts and she does the rest. It's much better this way. I have some new recipes to try and see if my sister and her kids like what I can bake now. God bless you.
I am so sorry to hear about your mom but I’m sure you learned a lot from her! I hope this season is joyful for you and your family!
Thank you. I appreciate that. And for the idea with the stool.... I tried it last night when I made lasagna soup. Mind you, I am partially disabled, so I can only stand just barely a couple of minutes, but it HELPED!!! It helped when I chopped up the meat and stirred everything together. I will continue to cook this way. So, you may want to try it, too, to see if it works for you. I am keeping my stool in front of my stove so I don't forget to put it there. 🤣❤@@FeedingtheByrds
Instead of cooking a full dinner, everyone brings their favorite finger foods. Lots of candies, cookies, savory snacks, crackers and cheese balls, nut mixes and much more.
I love this!
I really appreciate you making the half recipes. I live on my own and make the treats for family mostly. The half size recipe means I can make more varieties to make up some nice cookie trays. And there won’t be lots of cookies around to tempt me.
That's what we do when we make half sizes too. I always make a tray out of it.
I make them for gifts. It's my way of saying I love and value you.
I love that!
I have just recently discovered your channel and I am a big fan! From watching your other videos, I feel like we have so many things in common in our cooking. Like I rarely measure my seasonings, I prefer almond extract over vanilla in many recipes, I always use salted butter, I always use extra garlic and oregano, and I never make the same thing the same way twice. And I love Jesus. But one major difference is we ALWAYS use onion and the more the better. 😊 My husband and I celebrated 45 years of marriage last month and we have 9 children, 8 of which are married and they have blessed us with 16 grandchildren and another coming in March. So your freezer meals and dump and go crockpot recipes are going to be a life saver for me when everyone is home for Christmas. Thank you for putting in all the work for me to make this easier for feeding so many and by doing all the work ahead of time I will get to be with my family more and not be so exhausted from all the cooking and cleanup. Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family!
Thank you so much for being a part of my subscribers. I am so happy I am able to help with ideas for your family. I hope you enjoy the holiday season along with your loved ones!
Change of plans...I will now be baking some of these cookies instead 😋 Thanks for sharing!
Hope you enjoy!
I have really been enjoying your videos. I've invited our church youth over to my house for a Christmas treat making day. I discovered your channel while looking for ideas for fun things to make. I appreciate all your fun ideas. Thank you.
I’m so happy you found my channel, thank you so much!
For the maple snickerdoodle, try rolling them in maple sugar instead of regular sugar!
Great idea!
The cinnamon roll cookie caught my attention. But that icing on the pecan cookies looked so good, too, so those would be my top picks. Really enjoyed your video today.
They are delicious, thank you so much!
We had a respiratory infection during Christmas and isolated at home. So just now baking some cookies and your recipes are the best! Thanks for sharing.
Oh no! Glad it seems like you're better now.
Those all look amazing!! Thank you for sharing all of your recipes.
You are so welcome!
They all look so delicious
Thank you!
They all look delicious! Snickerdoodles are my all time favorite cookie, and I made those snowballs recently & loved them. What I do with my chocolate chip cookies is make the full recipe, and scoop half to bake & the other half I flash freeze and put in the freezer for later. I just write on the ziplock time and temp, and you can cook just a couple at a time.
That is such a great idea!
Good night Amber and thank you for sharing your yummy cookies
You're welcome!! Have a great evening
Love the video❤Christmas cookies are great gifts to give everyone. I make hundreds this time of year ‼️🎄🎄❤️
Thank you so much!
All look delicious. Think I will try the maple snicker doodle. ❤
Please do!
They all look good, I think that I would try the pecan ones first. Thanks for sharing
That's absolutely the first one I would suggest trying. It was so good.
Merry Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas to you too!
Awesome recipes, thanks Amber 👍🌲👍🌲👍
You are so welcome!
I had 7 children -5 of which were boys. They still live close with their families including our 23 grandchildren. I always need to make around 100 treats for them each treat. 😊
WOW!!!!
I'm starting your shopping list for you. Almond extract, small sifter, parchment paper,... it's so funny because you remind me of me when I start baking...silicone spatula 😅
I usually make around 300 cookies for Christmas. My kids give them to teachers and friends, my hubby takes a ton of them to work and of course eat them. I love all the cookies. I just found your channel and submitted. Can’t wait to see what else you do.
YAY! I am so glad you're here.
The brown sugar pecan cookies could easily be made with walnuts, slivered almonds, hazelnuts or pistachios.
Oh absolutely!!
Oh goodness! Try them with cashews ❤
That's what I do I add it to the mix too. I also add walnuts we call them Russian tea cakes or butter nut balls
Yum!!
cool
I make cookie baskets every year and give them out to friends
Love that!
I've been collecting all the desserts, cookies and such. Also diabetic desserts too. I've got two Christmas parties to go too. So cooking this week for a party with my old friends this Saturday. Then cooking more the week of Christmas to take large platter of treats to take to our family Christmas. Snowball Cookies is one of the cookies I'm making. We roll our into balls then after cooking we roll them in the powdered sugar. Thanks for all these holiday desserts and love you to keep posting them. I always use salted butter too. I also am going to make those pecan cookies too. Oh, also give these treats as gifts to family & friends also.
Snowball cookies are the best!
yum these all look amazing!!! when my husband was alive i made him fresh cookies every week , as he loved cookies , but around the holidays i made them to hand out at school , where i worked , christmas parties at my moms with the whole family and i also make up a care package for my mailman , as he is amazing!!! ...but im most known for my peanut brittle , which i usually make about 8 lbs of nuts which is 8 batches lol , as that is favorite , its a labor of love for sure , but it is the best , u will ever taste!!!
WOW! That is a lot of peanut brittle. I bet everyone loves it.
We very rarely eat cookies or sweet things, we often don't eat dessert either lol. We have Snowballs in Scotland, similar to the snowball cookies you just made, we take the 2 halves join together with jam, put icing on all over and roll them in dessicated coconut, you could do that with your cookies, coconut instead of powdered sugar. I watch all of your videos regardless of what you're making. xxx
That sounds delicious, will have to try it out!
😋
I always use salted butter too
I like the extra saltiness!
Neighbors, family, friends and parties.
Yes!
Yes, I would substitute Walnuts !!
I make them for family and friends and to pass out to others. Large batch recipes are good for me. I can always freeze the left over dough to have cookies on hand for future use.
Yes! Great idea
If you ever dont have a sifter just rub it in the palm of your hand to crush up the lumps. This was a great video. TFS!
Oh what a good idea!!
These look great! Honestly, my butter needs for cookies and savory treats are going to put me in the “poor house”! 😂
I make treats for friends and neighbors- also for my vet, maintenance man and local police, firefighters and EMTs. I’m definitely going to add the Maple Snickerdoodles! They are my sister’s favorite! I really appreciate your videos!
Oh my goodness I love the idea of making them for first responders and police!! I'm going to do that with my kids
@@FeedingtheByrds Thank you!
I make the treats for family, friends and of course, us 😂
😍
Love your videos!! I noticed you have a Snowball cookie recipe and a Snowflake cookie recipe. Are they both the same cookie? Thanks!
Haha. Yes! I labeled them different on accident
New Subsriber✨😄
Thank you for subscribing!
When I make cookies in large amounts, I always bake like 1 or 2 dozen and flash freeze the rest so that all I have to do is just put them on the cookie sheet and bake them.
So easy and quick!
We make treats for get togethers with friends and family, to give as gifts, and just to enjoy. Instead of making half recipes make the whole one and just freeze what you don't want to bake for later use. Then you just pull out the amount you want and bake them from frozen. Have you tried cream cheese snickerdoodles? They are fantastic!
That's a good idea!!
I love it ! Could you please make a gf Christmas cookies?
Thanks!!
Truthfully no one in my family is gf so I haven't worked with many ingredients for them. But I do have a no-bake video that has some good options in it!
I don't care what the recipe says, I use salted butter! Samesies! ❤
Yes!!
Christmas calories don't count.
😋
Truth!
That is very TRUE 😂
Oatmeal cookie recipe please
I need to work on that one
The treats I make are for family events and gifts for friends and neighbors.
So nice!
Went to a party last night and tried bacon wrapped water chestnuts. Have you tried that appetizer? I know how your family enjoys appetizers
yes!!! They are delicious. And yes, we love apps. In fact, we are sharing some this week and next week on here.
@@FeedingtheByrds that’s wonderful. I’ve stated doing them on Sundays as the house is empty now to spend hours on a roast dinner for two.
So good!
Oh heck I could eat 48 myself
Me too!
Is that mixer color called mineral water?
YES!
Maple snickerdoodle uses the other 1/2 egg. It wasn’t clear. Thanks
Yep!
