My mom, who is 99, still makes the Russian Tea Cake Cookies aka your Snowball Cookies. The nuts she uses are finely chopped walnuts. These are also known as Mexican Wedding Cookies. I have kept the tradition going for my children and the neighborhood. I passed the recipe on to my daughter-in-law, who now is passing it on. I am definitely going to try your ginger snaps this year, but not sure about if I will try the cinnamon roll ones this year. I have a neighborhood girl who is 13 that I love working with in the kitchen. She and I are talking about making cookies here with her grandma. Who knows what trouble we are going to get into. I may end up with flour everywhere! Merry Christmas to you and all of the family. I love watching your family videos, especially the cooking ones. 🎅
My sister starting having the building of gingerbread houses on Dec 31st as it gave the family and kids something to do while we all waited up for the ball to drop and ring in the new year. The pressure was off to do another activity on Christmas and to use up all those leftover cookie decorations or get them cheaper on clearance at the after Christmas deals. We joined her in this tradition after we retired from the AF and moved near them. Im sure she never thought that one day it became a huge healing for us at the end of 2014. Our dad passed away early that morning Dec 31st. That evening with all the family gathered together, we continued the tradition and it helped us get through that night with all us building our houses with love in memory of grandpa.
I had these blue dishes when I was a young woman. I’m 68 now so it was about 40 years ago. The cookies look delicious. I make my snowballs about the same but I add a tsp of almond extract
Yummy! I'm so excited for this holiday! I'm going to have my 3-year-old granddaughter, Laney Jo, stay the weekend. We're making these cookies, watching old Christmas cartoons, talk about baby Jesus, and singing Christmas carols all weekend!! Grandma Penny's starting a tradition. My eight month old grand girl will join us in two years and by then, Laney will be a pro! ✝️🎄🍪
Everything looks delicious and you have a calm and soothing voice as you share the instructions with us. I am sure my husband and neighbors will enjoy these cookies. What a blessing you are!!
Yum . Three awesome cookies recipes. These will be great for this holiday. Julianne, I bet your family enjoyed these cookies. Could imagine the little ones standing by just waiting for you to say dig in. LOL God Bless you all. Thank you Julianne.
I truly enjoy your channel. I want to thank you for taking the time to put up the recipes. It makes it so much easier, I love that when I make them I can play your videos again and bake along.
Julianne, you are an incredible cookie baker. You didn't even throw the flour all over the kitchen when you added the flour. I am going to try some of these with my granddaughter.
Thanks for the ideas! I've made pecan crescents like you snowball cookies. By the way your clear glass measuring cup is for measuring liquid ingredients, you should be using the metal or plastic dry measuring cups for flour and other dry ingredients. Liquid and dry measures are not the same.
Thanks for the recipes! 😊 The pinwheel pie crust cookies are new to me. My grandma made what she called a crisp with left over dough. She rolled the crust out, brushed it with butter and sprinkled on cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Then she baked it and gave it to us children. 🥰
Yippee. Some new yummy recipes to try. Love the way you honor your family. Thank you for sharing your great grandmother with us. Treats and heart swells💕
👏👏👏 yummy looking cookies I am so happy you put the total recipe down for everyone of them is easier to follow and press can watch your video and make sure it's done right and can you use store-bought pie crust for the pinwheels or do you have to make crust thank you for answering that have a blessed day keep up the good videos and I do agree with everybody you should have your own cooking show😊
That is such a gorgeous jumper you're wearing. Every cookie/biscuit is my favourite. Lol. Ill have to make sure I have leftover pie crust for these , lol. I love pie crust too. Thank you for all the beautiful recipes lovelies ❤
I like to occasionally make the Russian Tea cakes too. My mom and sister always made them. My sister was the Huge cookie maker and would have me over to make them with her and we would split them. She was killed in 2020 and My Best friend took over that job and we make Christmas Cookies together now. Christmas cutouts are my favorite as well as Chocolate/peanut butter balls ! Last year we made a new one which was an almond cookie that reminded me alot of those shortbread cookies you buy in the tins. Tis the season and soon we will be making our cookies again! Happy Holidays!!🎄🎄
I have never had a ginger snap cookie, but that's about to change. I know they will be incredible just like all of your other recipes I have made. I can't wait. Thanks guys for all that you share.
I adored your video, Thank you. I was going to make Snowball cookies today but my husband ate half a cup of the pecans that would of went in the cookies lol... I'll just go into town tomorrow and get some more plus more for him 😊. You made the pinwheels look so easy to make and can't wait to try them and your spiced ginger cookies too.
Oh yum. They all look so good. I love the snowballs. My mum use to make them every Christmas. And the ginger cookies are one of my faves. Great video. Love it 🇨🇦💕
The pie dough swirls, my grandmother always called bumblebees. I've been making them for my family for nearly 50 yrs! I sometimes use brown sugar with or instead of white and sometimes add pumpkin pie spice...so yummy! I never mixed the sugar/cinn just sprinkled on seperately and as much as I liked depending on how much dough I had to work with.
My mother made these, too. During the holidays, though, she'd use leftover sweet potato pie filling spread thinly over the dough. She would then sprinkle with raw cane sugar (we lived near the sugar cane fields here in Louisiana), roll it up, cut, and then bake. The special holiday version was named "Mama's Holiday Pinwheel Surprise Cookies." I still make them for Christmas each year. It means so much to me to carry on that tradition, especially since Mama passed away last year at 97 years old. I'll admit... I cried like a baby while making them last year without her. Two of my kids, my two daughters-in-law, and our oldest grandbebe stepped in to comfort cuddle me, and help me finish them. Thus, a new tradition was birthed from love that day.
I think I must have grown up like your mom pinwheel cookies my mom would leave it whole a bake it and cut after it was baked but wow so so good now you got me wanting some too ;) thank you Julianne

Annie good night

For the Snowball/Tea Cookies, is that self rising or all purpose flour used. Thanks, loved your video!
All purpose flour. These cookies are SO yummy and BUTTERY!
*So Delicious* 😋
I’m guessing you make your own vanilla extract. Do you have a preference to where you get your vanilla beans?
We have enjoyed many different types of vanilla beans as long as they are higher quality.

@@HeartwayFarms Oh my goodness, I've never used a vanilla paste before. I'll bet it's even more addictive.
How many days will they keep
No eggs?
