- Halloween Special, in which we talk about the customs of Halloween, its history and fake news. Discussion with Sheila Thomas about foraging and what to do with the wild things you harvest. A bit more Alice in Wonderland and a reading of Goblin Market by Christina Rosetti.
A whimsical wander through customs, legends and bedtime stories along with general sleepy banter and musings intended to get you to doze off, or at least keep you company in the darkened hours. More wholesome than any sleeping pill.

I've had to start listening to these in the day while I'm doing stuff (usually sewing) because I don't want to miss anything 💜😂 Thank you Sheila, you totally need your own channel too
"Alice" is delightful!!!! Love your narration, voices, intonations, accents. Masterful as always. Thank you, Tony!🌹🌹🌹😊
I listen to these repeatedly because I love them so much! Please keep this channel going. I love your other channels equally as well but this one the most. Love to you and the family and Merry Christmas! 🎄⛄️🎅
I will. It's just time and this is the least popular in general.
Absolutely the best of the best of everything! Fantastic chat with Sheila.
I'm loving your reading of Alice In Wonderland, my favorite. Your ramblings and all of it ! This special gift from you is simply Perfect. ❤️
Lovely interview with Sheila. Thank you, Sheila, for sharing your knowledge. Interesting information on Halloween customs. I am feeling quite sleepy now. Thank you, Tony!
Tony, I love late night sleep radio! I keep coming back to it time and again. I pulled an "all-nighter" of them a week or so ago while going through some hell my narcissist sister created. They really, really helped by giving me true substance and conversation. I've listened to some of them 3 or 4 times. Just wanted to let you know and to thank you.
Wonderful interview with Sheila, lovely to hear you both chat about the foraging, with care of the natural world too.
I just wanted to let you know Tony that I don't always click the like button because I use these to sleep. However I LOVE LOVE LOVE these late night radio shows. I listen to them over and over and over. Your voice and accents are music to my ears. I wish they came out more often. I also listen to the, Classic Ghost stories many times. LOVE YOU TONY!!!!!
Thanks. I love doing this but I am having to pivot away due to time constraints. I will continue with CGS however.
I am listening for the third play through, Maybe I will stay awake this time through. LOL I do love listening to you, maybe I will have to start listening in the morning.
Sheila has a very calming voice, will she narrate a story for us someday? Please... 😊 Her voice is better than taking a valium, it is very relaxing and nice. Me and my dogs like it. 🥰
Maybe one day!
Brilliant episode 🎉
The Goblin poem was a good choice 👌
Glad you liked it. I did too.
Love this, also mid day on the gray, rainy day-before-Halloween. Dog Nico appreciative-- snuggleled up beside me on his pillow and blanket, eyes closed but his ears are relaxed but listening. Than you very much to both of you🐕🌻🍀
Love to Nico
Thank you! Nico definately recognizes your voice.@@sleepy-folklore
Only just found this tony! After exploring your other channel, ghost stories. . ❤
Sheila is lovely to listen to. Ask her if she would come back and talk to us again. Very interested in the Cleaver moisturiser too! ❤
Go to her facebook page and message her about it. facebook.com/stenergies/
Loved the talk with Sheila. She has a very warm and hypnotic voice. I have always been interested in making lotions and potions and I'm just starting out now. So although I do have a FB account (I hate FB) I am going to follow Sheila on there. Where I was born and brought up, near Newcastle upon Tyne, we used to carve turnips at Halloween (my dad used to cut the top off the turnip for me and start it off) I loved the smell of the turnip when the candle had been burning for a while! We never used to knock on doors at Halloween. I remember inviting friends from school to a Halloween party in our garage...it was all wooden and my dad used to hang his onions from the rafters and we painted scary face on them! Happy days. Also...we used to do 'knocky door neighbour' and 'knocky nine doors'...not at Halloween though!
Knocky nine doors. We used to call it that. I think it must be Knocky Nigh Doors.
Ditto this time around to you and Sheila. mj and Dog Nico🥰🐕
Your talk of wearing bin bags reminded me of "I Eat Cannibals" by Toto Coelo. Scary stuff and not in a good way.
Well it wasn’t dead in Prestwich, Lancashire, when I was growing up in the 60’s … in our childhood we celebrated both Hallowtide and Guy Fawkes night … no pumpkins in sight, but turnips and bonfires, apple bobbing, and the like. Our family has French, Scots, Irish and Yorkshire roots .. but our neighbours, stoutly Lancashire, celebrated nonetheless. No dressing up and no going door to door … except for “penny for the guy” … and you had to have one to display to get owt.
Prestwich is now in Greater Manchester, courtesy of the boundary changes of the 1970’s. Bah! Humbug!
