- Back in 2020 and in 2021 i recorded this amazing baling setup in Denmark. Here we have a John Deere 4955 in the field baling with at Krone BigPack 4X4 big baler. I decided to make a full video with over 20 minutes of great footage of this setup! Hope you enjoy.

What a beast, so much more character than a modern tractor
Dieser klang vom Motor das ist nur wahnsin. 🤤🤤🤤. Bei jedem Kolbenstoß von der Ballenpresse grunzt der Motor einmal. 💪💪💪💪 Das ist alte John Deere Technik. Grüße aus der Schweiz 🇨🇭

Your mechanic must have the diesel pump and turbo pressure adjusted. A lot of energy goes to waste in the black smoke. That energy must be fed to the wheels

C'est malheureux d'abîmer une légende de John Deere , un si beau tracteur pour faire ça. Une catastrophe quand on entends son moteur . Enfin une fois mort c'est la casse direct . Tsssssss
Prenez à peu près n'importe quel autre tracteur, modifiez la pompe à carburant, augmentez les injecteurs, modifiez la culasse et ajoutez un turbo et un refroidisseur intermédiaire plus gros pour que le moteur tire plus du double de la puissance avec laquelle il est né, puis utilisez-le comme tracteur à double usage. travail sur le terrain et tirage. Combien de tracteurs feront ça IRL. C'est la raison pour laquelle elle augmente un peu à chaque coup car la pompe à carburant est très sensible.
I haven't driven tractors since the mid 90s. JD 4450 was my favourite. Great for row crops

There's just something about listening to a classic, big tractor grunting with a baler on the back. Takes me back to watching them out of my bedroom window in the 90s.

No va bien ése motor echando humo todo el día.... terminará reventado....A un vecino mío le ocurrió con un JD de 150 o 160 cv. bastante nuevo, hace 5 o 6 años...y tuvo que cambiarlo...ya no kiso JD ... Cogió un MF 220 cv. y hasta ahora sin problemas....

Hmm, vermutlich hat er zwei Unterscheidliche Dieselsorten getankt, einmal Shell, einmal Aral oder so. Und die verbrennen im Takt anders. Oder ein Kolben kommt nicht hinterher und zündet imme retwas später. Ist ganz einfach zu erkennen. Bei 4 zylindern im vier viertel Takt, bei sechs Zylinder 4/4 Takt mit zwei Gedenksekunden.
Das ist der Presskolben, der immer in dem Takt die Ballen "Verdichtet".
Da hat der Motor einmal kurz richtig etwas zu tun.

This engine needs attention, I dont understand fully why it is surging. Plenty horsepower to run that baler, or a bit lower speed. Its not good for the engine to surge like that or fuel economy either.
It is surging because of how large the baler is. When it lugs down that's the massive plunger compressing the bale in the chamber and that lugs down that tractor
every tractor does this in front of a baler but because this tractor has a open exaust you hear it more. And if you want fuel efficentie you don’t use this kind of tractor either😂.
What's wrong with the governor on that tractor. It cannot tun at a constant speed. Damn John deer needs to fix that issue

There’s nothing wrong with the governor (it doesn’t have a governor). I’d argue it either needs the fuel pump adjusting back a bit or more air.
Too much black smoke & the surging is a combination of over fuelling & the ram in the baler.
Yo creo que anda muy justo con esa máquina la bocanada de humo en cada pistonazo lo evidencia, no creo que eso sea bueno para el motor
