When you restrain a dog (pulling back on the leash), that gives the opposite message one's trying to convey to the dog.
Thanks for tips! I like how you'll take responsibility for mistakes. It was nice that you're neighbor let you walk BB for exposing your dog to another dog.
It is more instructive to let others know what you did wrong so they can benefit from your mistakes than to just say how great everything is. But that takes courage which is why you seldom see it on You Tube or life. I commend you for your courage. Plus you add solutions. In all a great learning video.
Plus, I love watching Rosco and "his" commentary. Fun and instructive.

Same with my Maltipoo! We got him last Christmas, but due to this pandemic, we didn’t socialize him much. When we take him on walks, he barks at everything & everyone. We are going to see how he does.

Great video Julia! I just started to walk my 6 mos Maltipoo and she’s doing great! So far she loves to approach other dogs and doesn’t bark at them. She’s barked when there’s loud noises. Should I continue to walk her to avoid anti socialization?
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it :) I think continuing to take her for walks and socialize her is a great idea! Have you tried reinforcing with treats when there’s a loud noise and she doesn’t bark? That might help.

Thank you for commenting! I love hearing from viewers :) Just to clarify, do you mean a video that shows how we found the breeder and the process leading up to bringing him home? I have a video about picking him up from the breeder's and his first days at home, not sure if you've seen that one yet.

My maltipoo is pretty okay with other dogs, except when we go near a gate with barking dogs. Then hes pretty scared.
I can see why that would be a little frightening for him!

Did Rosco always bark at other dogs, or did it develop as he grew older?
He met a few dogs when he was younger and he barked less then than now, but that also could’ve been because he hadn’t yet found his voice :) After the few months of no interaction with dogs we noticed a big difference in his behavior (for the worse).
