As a musician I'm genuinely amazed how Steve manages to keep track of timing under his tricks. Proves that there was a huge solid base many years before the "wrong gig" stuff.
As a drummer myself, I love watching Steve play. His style is so chaotic and wild yet precisely under control at all times. Every time he hits a cymbal I'm like "he's gonna drop a stick".....still waiting lol.
I appreciate that. People "assume" that I'm out of control (and it's designed to look that way). However, there's always a part of my brain that's tight to my rehearsal room... meaning I can't get too caught up in the moment (the live show) or I'll mess up. There's always a part of me that's trying to be connected to the "rehearsals" I did beforehand. Hope that makes sense. :-)
@@themaddrummerofficial That's quite difficult to do. I've been playing for 25 years and I still drop sticks when I get too carried away. Or perhaps I'm just a lousy drummer. LOL
After 12 years, he is much more sophisticated (and faster) with less flashy showmanship and he has evolved into a powerhouse first class pro. I’m hoping that his talent is recognized and he joins a nationally known band. Keep those kick ass videos coming! Woooooo!
@@captaininsano422 Apparently 12 years since his last video, according to other posts. Imho, his playing was way above the other musicians with him, which seemed to be cover bands playing in smaller venues. Hoping he gets the recognition he deserves.

It’s not even the speed it’s the absolute INSANE timing on every piece of his kit that is insane. If there is no quantization on this recording…I bet if you analyzed the precision of each hit it’s probably less than 2% off the beat. Seriously.

I absolutely love this song. It's so awesome. I've been a fan of Steve since I saw drummer at the wrong gig video. He is absolutely amazing.
