Oh yes! Our prayers have been answered! When you were describing how amazed you were to hear clear splash sounds, and rim shots, and just all very accurate drum sounds. Thats why we all kept telling you that he is THE BEST on percussive beatboxing.
@@enmanuel1950 slykku is AWESOME. What a dope beatboxer that we don't hear very much of these days. His drums are crazy, especially the variations he can do with his unique duck squeak sound he does. I'd argue that slykku might have more complicated patterns that are more full.. but I think zer0 sounds are more accurate to that of a drum set, and his patterns are more in line with actual drum set patterns, slykku patterns are things a human couldn't play on a drum set.
@@asylumental Yeah now that you say it I think you're right. Slykku has crazy patterns but they don't necessarily more accurately resemble a drum kit than Zero. Although I do remember a video he did with codfish where his drums sounded incredibly realistic, but there was a lot of reverb on the audio to be fair.
@@alinsecheres3855 gonna have to disagree on osis and dropical... I think they're both incredible, some of my favorite new school beatboxers but I wouldn't call what they do "drumming" it's not an accurate drum set.. its just kick and snare with filters.
As a fellow percussionist that found my way into beatbox content a few years ago it’s sick to hear someone else that thinks the same way i do when listening these tracks. Keep up the great work!
Wow... I've never actually heard this one. Thanks for this reaction! I was going back through your beatbox reactions, and realized you haven't checked out the Jollux vs Remix battle, aka "Battle of the Prodigies". Incredible technique, composition, and delivery from 2 young beatboxers that are world-class talents. Would love to see your analysis/reaction to this one, if you come across it. Either way, respect for the content, FR.
5:55 to do the sound you’re talking about here, you stick your tongue out and quickly pull it back in your mouth. You get a pronounced thudding texture if you do the motion while trying to breathe in - the tongue gets sucked in much harder as though it’s in a vacuum
@@foxxo8349Exactly idk if this sound has an specific name. A lot of people just call it the machine gun. Timmeh used to be an absolute beast at it back when he was till active in the community.
5:55 Sounds to me like he's using a technique called "sucker punch," which is when you bring your tongue up to the roof of your mouth suddenly, like if you say "hut" while inhaling. (Assuming of course that we are talking about the same sound)
He's doing the same concept but his lips are sealed and the tip of his tongue is sticked out through them then he sucks it in, sticks it out and sucks it in again.
I would say the best performance in beatboxing matching your talk would be Colaps - precision. I would say this one in particular because you have a studio version, but also a live performance in a battle (colaps vs king inertia, colaps' second round). It is like 2 minutes long and definetly deserves a video
I know I don't know if you read this comment, but you are really very curious about certain techniques, in terms of variety and many other questions in terms of practicing this, and it would really be very good that you talk to some of them, mostly all the beatboxers. They are always open to interviews or talks since it is not common at all, it would be good if one day you have a mini interview even with Zer0, it would be very interesting (I apologize if my English is not good xd) greetings from Argentina
I actually believe zer0 would be down to make such a video, would be very interesting to watch as well. Especially since you will be on the same wavelength as 2 drummer geeks!
I think I speak for everyone when I ask for a reaction on Helium's GBB23 wildcard Round 1. It's not AS percussive as other recommendations you've gotten, but it's a structurally perfect routine.
btw the video is now called "beatboxing calms the baby down", it's on Helium's channel. It has a studio version, but I find that improvised video way better, and it's also wholesome.
Love when you get to your beatbox reactions man! You gotta try out Astron! His 2023 Argentina wildcard. He’s a blind beatboxer from Argentina that rips crazy combos super clean.
Nothing else zero did holds a candle to his "ZER0 | Online World Beatbox Championship Solo Judge Showcase" from OWBC21 performance. Be sure to check it out.
Hey, to give some answers elements about your thoughts mid vid about the arsenal of beatboxers and how they manage to organize it, Helium did two videos that you might wanna watch. They are called BEATBOX SKILLS - FROM EASY TO EXTREMELY HARD (length about 5 min each 2 parts). I think it you could give it a try. Thanks again for your content, Zer0 really is a rythm god.
Man, I'm really digging this beatbox stuff. Since I saw some of your reactions here I have watched a few more and found one you might enjoy a lot.
