I'm in SEO right now and I'm thinking about transitioning to data analytics but I don't like coding. What are your thoughts around this?

Awesome you’re considering a career path similar to myself. I would suggest transitioning into a Digital/Web Analytics role as this type of data should already be very familiar to you, it’s in high demand and doesn’t require coding knowledge.
Digital analysts tend to use Google Analytics/Adobe Analytics as their main tools, which doesn’t require coding knowledge to utilise, but does require a basic understanding of statistics, data analysis and tagging implementation (so that you know how GA/Adobe captures data).
Coding knowledge is still a big benefit in the digital analytics space as it is becoming the norm to query web data from data warehouses such as Google Big Query. Which requires SQL knowledge. In the past 3 years, I have not seen a single analytics job spec that doesn’t mention SQL, Python or R as a requirement or benefit for the role. Also as you progress in your analytics career, and apply for more senior roles, it is generally expected that you will have good knowledge or experience with SQL, Python or R.
Long story short, you can become an analyst in your position without coding knowledge/experience but you will be paid less and seen as less desirable than other analysts who do.

Hello Ravi, you can of course transition into a data analytics role if you educate yourself, work on your CV, work with recruiters and never give up on your search.
However, as your background is in sales (and not data analytics) I advise you to lower expectations as I don’t believe that you’re going to be able to immediately transition from a sales manager to an analytics manager just as you wouldn’t expect an analytics manager to transition into a sales a manager role. Managerial roles require you to have proven expertise and often over a long period of time. And just as you have proven yourself as a sales manager in the past I’m sure that you can do so in the field of data analytics.
