It makes perfect sense to have vehicles for those who either don't care as much about looking around or have played already and don't want to look around or just want to move from points faster. Forcing people to play a way you think is best isn't good and is limiting since you could choose whether or not to use vehicles

I've already seen people complaining about not being able to pacifist your way through the game. To that I say, a ton of the best RPGs of all time don't allow it either. Didnt stop them from being great games. Its a ton of work to make a game beatable without killing anyone. Theres so many variables that would have to be worked out that would trickle through the game. I don't think its unreasonable to say that the universe is big and that there are just some people or creatures that cant be reasoned with.

Im pretty hyped.. n not that worried about the bs. I still enjoyed cyberpunk at launch and even had a blast with 76 (eventually). So I know im gonna enjoy this. I loved FO4. I planned on a new TV for Christmas but this makes me want it early 😅
I hope the mod community handles the no-vehicles thing quick. Sure I bet every planet will be gorgeous but eventually the awe wears off and we'll just wanna cover ground quicker. You can't tell me the primitives of Tamriel were smart enough to use horses but future space explorers never thought about a dune buggy Regardless I'm very looking forward to Starfield. Like a Star Citizen that will actually be finished sometime this century
When you land on planets, the game places locations procedurally around the landing site. It's to ensure that you never have to go insane distances to see a planet's points of interest. They place them procedurally but the structures themselves are hand made. But yeah, it still would be nice to have a vehicle. Seems like an odd concession.
The only thing that really caught me in this QA was about the economy. I was wondering how that would function. Static or ever changing are both fun for me. Being a set price all over does make it easier to fly around and trade. But i do enjoy games that have a system where prices change and you have to adjust your routes. Or games with a pretty deep system like New Horizons back on SNES where you and even the npcs would alter the state of prices on goods throught the world. But, those systems i'm sure get pretty intense and ya probably gotta at least have some kind of understanding on numbers to get something like that work. The Dev team would probably have had to hire a money guy for that kinda of thing. So I'm sad and not at the same time. xD
All things considered, it just really sounds like the familiar bethesda formula. Just in a different setting and universe. Which is just fine by me and promises more than enough to enjoy. My take is that any who have put alot of hours in Fallout, skyrim, or even morrowind will thoroughly enjoy this game
I’m so hyped for this game, I think it’s gonna be incredible. There are so many aspects that I’m excited about but one of the biggest things for me is just being able to travel to distant reaches of space and see what I can find, whether it be a wacky side quest, a horror side quest or just some environmental storytelling that BGS are so great. Can’t wait to see the mech battleground too.
the fact that I only have to wait until this Friday, the one day a week I don't have any college classes, to play is getting me exponentially hype. The whole day is gonna be starfield, praying they allow a preload.
Jackson, I think your approach to SF videos going forward is sensible since we've all been here before with previous Bethesda, games. They're massive. Trying to do a "complete" play through just doesn't feel relevant anymore (due to live streams and wanting to experience the game for ourselves). I would focus on emergent game play moments that might actually be universal in everybody's game? There will be tons of companion guides and quest guides, but maybe certain things will occur for everybody even if at different times? I think getting the word out on those smaller moments (if they lead to certain rewards, perks, etc.) may help your content stand and allow you to just play and enjoy the game at your own pace?
5:30 I completely agree. This is why I keep coming back to Skyrim but have only played each fallout game once. The fallout series is great but living in a "civilized" world is just an experience I much prefer. I'm super excited that Starfield will combine a living world and cities with vast stretches of nothing.
i would like you to do your normal type of videos on starfield as you do on other games, but maybe split starfield in to parts to track factions or just how your playing though! thanks for all the effort for the vids

Todd Space Simulator, I know the adoring fan is an easter egg, but I wouldn't mind bumping into a Todd type character for this one, people have made quite interesting videos on youtube of Todd followers for games like Skyrim which were cool. yeah seriously, i'm excited.. but they even said the EXACT same thing about that Redfall game when talking about delaying it to polish and make the game better. I hope Bethesda learned from it, but people need to learn. I was talking to someone who was absolutely convinced this was gonna be the best game and he was also saying "I haven't forgotten Bethesda's history". But was hell bent on pre ordering Starfield, even after bringing up the history bit. Consumers are the reason companies take advantage of them like that. one thing that puts me off of Starfield, and thankfully so far it's just this. But the human characters look so bad. Facial hair looks bad. Everything else looks nice.
@@dreadedTanker3173 To be honest, that Redfall part doesn't really concern me. It was an Arkane thing, which seemed pushed by higher ups (live-servicy, multiplayer, etc), and Arkane, just like Bethesda is at its best when doing single-player focused stuff which Starfield is. I get the human models looking mid, and, well, they look mid as hell, but I, particularly, am not phased by that, but it could be better, yes.
@@BRNakamurayup same here I realized people don’t have anything to criticize starfield on it’s just the same old “look at this game and how it did, so that means this game will be the same”
I’m super excited for this game, but being able to complete all the independent factions quest lines is weird to me. If it’s like Skyrim, then I really thought it didn’t make sense how I could be the Harbinger of the Companions and the Arch Mage of the College. Those are two conflicting ideologies, one focused on physical combat and one is magic. In the case of the Companions, I know Vilkas gets mad in the beginning if you use magic against him when he tests your skill, which makes sense. After that though, if you only use magic in combat when going through the quest line, they don’t care and you can eventually become Harbinger. Same with the College, you don’t really even have to be a master mage to be the Arch Mage. I’m not trying to be negative with this, I just do wish there was a more role play focused consequence system based on what you choose to focus on skill wise. When it comes to Starfield, I’m just super excited to play no matter what.
If you make videos like the one where you got the sword fish sword in AC Valhalla that would be pretty cool. Set a goal, record doing that goal and edit out all the boring parts. I like those
I have never played a bethesda game and hearing these things that are gonna be in the game got me even more excited, I was thinking how deep this game really goes, and knowing they have a jail system is pretty damn cool, buying your own house. As a big fan of Skyrim and someone, who really wanted Star Citizen to succeed, I'm absolutely looking forward to this, it looks stellar! _(no pun intended)_
I thought in the direct, they said we would be able to find randomly generated crew members? Like the one dude that seemed to be hurt on a moon or whatever, then seemingly asks to join your crew or whatever. Maybe he's one of the 20 named characters and I misinterpreted what was said at that moment.
I’d love to see you do more of a Star Citizen approach like you did. Which was more of a “Let’s Check Out X” in the game instead of a traditional “Let’s Play”
Good video, heard nothing new I haven’t already heard. That is not a bad thing watched till the end new subscriber. Enjoyed hearing your input and ideas on the game and each subject.
Fallout 4 has already tied 2 companions/story to the main storyline with Nick valentine and Piper wright , unless they mean all of the companions will react to what’s going on in the story regardless
I really hope they have like a radio system in the game like I hope I get into my ship blasts some tunes like star lord (marvel reference) or just some good techno or something.
Can't believe no one else wanted to ask the devs whether there are going to be black holes or/and neutron stars, and if we're gonna be able to "dive" into the gas giants
I'm not sure how many people still play fallout 3/NV, but I still make a new game every few weeks, and If I enjoy this game even 1% more than I do fallout 3 and NV, I will call it a win. Fallout 4 is still good, but in terms of replay ability, It's only fun for so long before I get bored. But I think I just get bored because you have to grind so much for perks, and upgrades. My biggest hope for starfield is that you can just play it for a few hours, and have a pretty fleshed out character with some badass weapons. In fallout 3, I can be level 4 and already have the upper hand against most enemies.
What I want to see is an actual fleshed out melee system, you may say it doesn't make sense to use a knife in the future, just provide the tools to make it work, shields, some type of handheld energy shield, a cover system, make it so you run faster with melee weapons than firearms, dodge, roll, parry, throw systems, ANYTHING, I hate seeing BGS game after game of melee builds being become a bullet sponge and run head on to smack with the biggest hammer you find to see the same 3 animations

Well this gave me info that I needed more than the timeline. I’m going to Beyoncé on the 27th so buying this game at launch is laughable. Just not happening, but I want a reason to want the game period. Things we do and don’t do, the kind of ppl we meet. A really big question I’d love answered but won’t until after launch “is this gonna be a lot like NMS and Outer Worlds mixed together” NMS is fun but can be a bit much sometimes. Outer Worlds is fine and would make sense if it had something similar there. I just don’t want it to be both. This Q/A gave me a flashback to the one for Fallout 4. I believe there were multiple, maybe not, but I’d like more of these. It gave me more meat than anything else so far. We had a surface answer to some of these but now we got something just a little bit under the surface. At least for me.
the fact they avoided the billion questions on if you can actually walk AWAY from your ship / right around a planet and not be tethered to a certain radius basically all but means this game will be tethered to a certain radius from your landing zone.

With regard to faction questlines, yes it's good that you can do all of them independently. But the downside is that our choices may not affect the world extensively. Suppose you choose to stay with the Crimson Fleet and betray the UC. Will the CF then take over the UC? New Atlantis will complete change its look? I doubt it. Will the player become public enemy number one? Can't enter New Atlantis anymore? Probably not. We'll just have to see. I just hope that there is a beneficial effect for the player who chooses to be a villian pirate or something.
I would love the ability to build, own, and manage a locker facility in the orbit of each habitable planet (with a city) where NPCs can safely and temporarily stow away their contraband after paying you a storage fee. It would be cool to inspect the contraband prior to stowing it and adjusting the price based on "how illegal" it is... and maybe steal from your customers Perhaps a mod?
I think a lot of the cool shit like that is way too role play to be put into a big game like this. Most people just want a space GTA. So most of the cool stuff like that where people wanna RP will 100% be a mod community like Fivem or RedM
How heavy do Bethesda games rely on dialogue? Thats what kept me from touching role playing games for a very long time. I just hate sranding in front of npcs clicking through hours of dialogue. But this looks so cool!
I think people are putting more importance onto this than they should. Pick based on what background sounds more interesting to you. You talk about "builds". Why choose one background over another because it has more stealth damage, etc. This is basically just the first three skillpoints. Looking at how many skills there are and the fact that they each have five levels that require one skillpoint each... And there is no level cap. I wouldnt be surprised if you have access to upwards of 100 skillpoints (maxed 20 skills) when you have progressed a good bit into the game. Im just guessing here, but i dont think those three skillpoints are "build defining".

Im fascinated by the idea of being double Asian as mentioned in the video 6:17 , my guess is half Chinese half Japanese and if that is the case i would love to play the Mathematician Rice shooter role in my first Playthrough
Lmao
Bruh😂
Hahahaha
I've already seen people complaining about not being able to pacifist your way through the game. To that I say, a ton of the best RPGs of all time don't allow it either. Didnt stop them from being great games. Its a ton of work to make a game beatable without killing anyone. Theres so many variables that would have to be worked out that would trickle through the game. I don't think its unreasonable to say that the universe is big and that there are just some people or creatures that cant be reasoned with.
Dude even baldurs gate 3 doesn’t allow it people are just nitpicking for this game because it looks amazing and Sony pony’s are pissed
those are the same people who are soft & sensitive in real life, the type to cry over anything & are delusional mentally ill morons
having the optional is good but the lack of it isn't a problem. it's a huge ask in a big game like this
@@t.t6294 the people who are upset are just nitpicking Xbox is finally getting a really good game and the Sony ponies are fuming
I appreciate the way you've handled the q&a, as well as your own thoughful input. I've stayed away from a lot of media stuff on Starfield because I'll try it on game pass first and dont want my first impressions coloured by others opinions, working to rein in the excitement.
upvoted for you saying in first minute that there may not be anything too massive or ground breaking with this update. thanks for not titling this "MASSIVE UPDATE"
For Q10, they later mentioned that there were many other generic NPCs you could hire for ship crew and outposts. So not just those 20 folks. (A few of those questions had follow up comments as well)
I was hoping I wouldn’t be limited to only maybe 20
@@erek3034 yea skyrim had like 60 people you could romance or something crazy like that lol. Who knows, there might be more options, they may just not be fleshed out like the main ones theyve talked about.
I think you should do a playthrough with the cult of serpents and then just talk about how it felt to be truly chaotic for the character.
Thanks for the breakdown!
happy to help!! :)
Im pretty hyped.. n not that worried about the bs. I still enjoyed cyberpunk at launch and even had a blast with 76 (eventually). So I know im gonna enjoy this. I loved FO4. I planned on a new TV for Christmas but this makes me want it early 😅
I was waiting for a tv and this game has made me take the plunge… i can’t believe it’s taken me so long. Do it!
Todd confirmed the loyalty system in the xbox podcast when he said companions will get mad for a bit over your actions but won't leave you.
I hope the mod community handles the no-vehicles thing quick. Sure I bet every planet will be gorgeous but eventually the awe wears off and we'll just wanna cover ground quicker. You can't tell me the primitives of Tamriel were smart enough to use horses but future space explorers never thought about a dune buggy
Regardless I'm very looking forward to Starfield.
So I'm sad and not at the same time. xD
Curious to see economy system
I wonder if there's going to be any occult or eldritch elements like some of the Fallout games featured
I feel like the artifact is going to have some eldritch back-story/vibes.
I mean the serpents embrace sounds pretty cultisch. Hopefully they also have some space magic backround
I hope theres some ancient material with cult backgrrounds
The reply is through the roof with this one.... then come the mods. Overwhelming!
I’m most excited to see what the modding community will eventually turn this game into. The possibilities are endless.
This video made me sub this guy. Chill voice and gets right to the point.
i would like you to do your normal type of videos on starfield as you do on other games, but maybe split starfield in to parts to track factions or just how your playing though! thanks for all the effort for the vids
'Hey there ol' sport, how's about we throw the old pigskin in the backyard? I got you a gift! It's a legendary quantum destabilizer laser rifle, I know how much you like those things when you're off exploring. Don't forget to visit!' -Mr. Starfield's Dad
Todd Space Simulator, I know the adoring fan is an easter egg, but I wouldn't mind bumping into a Todd type character for this one, people have made quite interesting videos on youtube of Todd followers for games like Skyrim which were cool. Really hyped for this game, I can almost afford it, will probably have to wait till next week. 😁
If you have an Xbox the game is free on game pass
@@stockdoc9384 I have an Xbox Series X, it would save some money and I'd get to try it out sooner than when I save up. Still getting it on PC though. Thanks for the info. It is over $100 here in Australia on PC just for the standard edition..
The part at 19:08 about Emil mentioning he is typo obsessed only to have a typo in the message was funny
Every time I see Starfield stuff posted by Bethesda I go full goblin mode: "TELL ME LIES TODD, TELL ME SWEET LITTLE LIES AND i WILL BELIEVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM AS GOSPEL".
yeah seriously, i'm excited.. but they even said the EXACT same thing about that Redfall game when talking about delaying it to polish and make the game better.
@@BRNakamurayup same here I realized people don’t have anything to criticize starfield on it’s just the same old “look at this game and how it did, so that means this game will be the same”
Wonder if we'll be able to become a space assassin similar to how the dark brotherhood is in skyrim
Holy smokes this game sounds so promising.
Skyrim is where it was at
If you make videos like the one where you got the sword fish sword in AC Valhalla that would be pretty cool. Set a goal, record doing that goal and edit out all the boring parts. I like those
I have never played a bethesda game and hearing these things that are gonna be in the game got me even more excited, I was thinking how deep this game really goes, and knowing they have a jail system is pretty damn cool, buying your own house. Ive never played a game with these types of things. Cant wait!
really hyped to have my little buddy adoring fan back he is so funny
I just want a skyrim mod inside of starfield.
20 companions on the base game in freaking HUGE. hyped.
As a big fan of Skyrim and someone, who really wanted Star Citizen to succeed, I'm absolutely looking forward to this, it looks stellar! _(no pun intended)_
Its crazy to think some people are already playing this game right now
They have been playing for years probably 2-3 at least
I thought in the direct, they said we would be able to find randomly generated crew members? Like the one dude that seemed to be hurt on a moon or whatever, then seemingly asks to join your crew or whatever. Maybe he's one of the 20 named characters and I misinterpreted what was said at that moment.
I'm just wondering how good will weather system will be in each planets.
That’s a great question.
A lot of the questions were boring or just asking shit about Bethesda games we already knew.
Im so ready for the jayvee Starfield videos
Fallout 4 has already tied 2 companions/story to the main storyline with Nick valentine and Piper wright , unless they mean all of the companions will react to what’s going on in the story regardless
I really hope they have like a radio system in the game like I hope I get into my ship blasts some tunes like star lord (marvel reference) or just some good techno or something.
I hate getting hyped for games nowadays. But the lore on this one makes me hope
Can't believe no one else wanted to ask the devs whether there are going to be black holes or/and neutron stars, and if we're gonna be able to "dive" into the gas giants
it seems like fallout and elder scrolls mashed together
It's interesting they didn't mention Alien because the ship interiors look like they were ripped straight from that.
Some of the interiors have also given me Millenium Falcon vibes
A futuristic like light saber type katana would be so dope
melee weapons make total sense in space. shooting inside a spaceship is dangerous
im going to search for that mech graveyard in hopes of a unique weapon/armor that someone dropped! I cant wait im super excited
Enlightened all the way baby! I’m glad they added something like that in the game.
Love your title just nice and plain "What we learned from the Starfield Q&A", instead of full capitals of "MAJOR" and "BIG" like some youtubers (and we never know the content of those videos without clicking in and watching 2 minute of random talk). Nice vid!
I now it's kinda obvious, but too bad most places you'll be wearing a spacesuit
I mean i would have loved to have something like a power armor type mech
That will be modded in probably pretty quickly anything you can think u want will probably be a mod within the next 2-3 years I’d assume that would be one of the first made
I watched some videos yesterday, and the 4 or five I've watched today are pretty much the same, repetitive yes, but at the same time watching these is like a salve for my impatience for this game to hurry the freak up and launch so I can play.
The main thing I love about Bethesda games is not needing to know and play previous games obv this don’t rly apply to this game but I played fo4 first and was scared I had to play fo1 2 3 nv to know 4 but I didn’t but plaything thise other games showed me a lot of references
Time to make draft notes of mod ideas, weapon holsters will be first on that list.
Finally, someone is doing the Q&A news!
Well, I think the Mechs might be Similar System like Power Armour, if they were to be a Usable thing... What I mean by this is, on a Technical Scale, Fallout 4 Power Armour was Effectively a Pilotable "Vehicle", where it's a Vehicle, but at the same Time, it's not a Vehicle... The Mechs could very well have a Similar System...
Im really hoping theres massive space monsters you see when flying around
I can't wait until someone just adds a flyable Enterprise to the game with mods.

20 possible companions is crazy, sadly only 4 are romanceable
dont worry mate mods + DLC
Who plays games for romance anyway? lmfao its not even a real person. I wouldnt care if there was 0 that you could romance its not going to make me trash the game cause of that. Theres a lot more that makes a game good other then romance lol.
Wonder if they’ll be more important to the story if it’s only 4
@jondagamer4466 sounds like there isn't as many dialogue options as I would like. I like having lots of dialogue options.
been on ur grind lately
The modding for this is gonna be insane
The Great Serpent?
You mean...the Worm?
WHAT WAS, WILL BE. WHAT WILL BE, WAS.
Honestly I want to see romances ngl it adds a touch of like freedom in a way
I NEED this game to have eldritch abominations/horrors. this is the perfect setteing for it. I mean, they had it in F3, F4, even 76' and most of the ES games. They really need to have some of that in this game (unless the serpent is totally going to be 90% that).
@jayveeeee
I would want to see you actually go over the traits in the game as I dont think they have relesed a list of all the traits and (if I must wait to get it) I could at least plan something out instead. I mean, it would be nice to see if I could tame critters and have pets (or just be able to have them help me fight where they are, for instance haveing that long-neck tortise big-nose thingy maybe charge someone I am fighting if I "tamed" it with this trait)
Have you played a Bethesda game ever? This prediction goes against everything Todd Howard believes in you sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about.
@@thisme3138what? You're the one who acts like you have no idea lmao.
@@jhallo1851 how? Has a Bethesda game ever limited how far you can go other the the ends of the map? It’s a dumb idea and defeats the whole purpose of having planets to explore why would they create all these planets for no one to see them. Not to mention I haven’t heard them mention anything about a restricted radius you can go from the ship this just a idea this guy made up
@@thisme3138 dude they already confirmed that New Atlantis will have loading doors separating and instancing the interiors - if you really think they can somehow load an entire planet with all pois and yet still have chosen not to reveal that then you're in for a rough surprise come launch.

Really hope hod toward pulls its out the bag with this one like I think he will 👍🏼
Not going to lie this video got me even more excited to play! 💗
Love the Fallout sound effects 😍😊
It's a planet that has been generated randomly... there is no reason not to have transport
game of the decade if this is actually what it promises, and god just wait until people be out there making mods for this thing
