Apologies from HMG @Bo, we hadn't realised what publish date we were aiming for and took a bit long! West Aus and East Aus also have different regional metas. In relation to Perth and WA specifically we definitely have seen change from where we started. Used to be single generic platoon only, limits on flamers, armoured platoons and theatre selectors were non existent. Ironically MRLs weren't limited because they weren't seen as effective. Now we use various restrictions to curb some of the more unpleasant combinations or mechanics that can give a player a poor experience, but they aren't always the same restrictions. I suppose that is what id sum up our meta to be driven by, not the min max approach or idea of 'what is good', but the engagement from the locals to actually come and play and the TOs hosting events that allow what they want to play. The meta is simply what they want to bring. Do i expect WA to keep the status quo as it is now? I highly suspect not. But as long as the local community is engaged, gives feedback on what is or isnt working, and that our TOs to listen we'll be fine. 😅

Im organizing the second Bolt Action Competition here en Chile, my principal objective is starting to build a local meta. We will have around 8 participants. The final game of the last tournament was Us BBQ vs Us BBQ. So BBQ lists are a thing here. But, the mayor part of our players are starting in the game, and they run mixed bag lists. If we continue developing a meta, i will comment it in your videos (if you are interested). And thanks for your content, im sharing your videos with our players to encourage them to start in the competitive play. You are staring to get famous around the chilean community, we call you "el pelao" (a chilean word). (Sorry if there any errors, my english writing is not the best)

The jugger rules are a great opportunity to make the game balanced in a tournament environment. I think the player base will have to address the confusing and at time conflicting unit entries.
Looking ahead, expect to see the new American recon squads and German Spahtupp forward deploying squads. Not as a FD army, but to give them some FD components with staying power.
I now take LMG teams veteran for 50 pts, or 35 reg from Battle of France, 5 shots, 3 men and you can move and shoot. Way better than a static 6 shot MMG
I think a good way like you say is to comp things in competitive play to break up cookie cutter lists, for local games I'm leaning more towards historical match ups, I'm currently working on a small 3 mission mini campaign using bulge forces, throwing in things like minefields and dug in troops.
Absolutely valid, but notice I am not actually arguing for comp. Personally I think that comp just shifts the Meta. If you want people to bring friendly or thematic lists, I think the best way is to tell them to do so, and not call the event a tournament
What do you think the impact of the free observer is to the British success? I'm a new player but from my research so far I feel like it's kind of a crazy piece that can disable a decent part of the enemy army for a turn just with the pins. I feel like it's really impacting the numbers, with the potential to turn games for 0 points. Curious on your thoughts as a competitive players, do you find people at tournaments can snipe it or position around it fairly easily?

If Warlord Games would "make MMGs and LMGS" Good... how would that look like. I want to built a LMG/MMG for my Brits with Perry Miniature Afghans, like in Lawrence of Arabia's Trainscene. I would love MMG to be good. Maybe if it would cost 40p?
deathstars? Tiger tank, panther, Firefly, 10 man strong soviet engineers w bodyarmour. in they game they have very little purpose as BA does not allow enough offensve output to validate the cost @@Se4dr4gon

El pelao is the bald man. I lived in Chile for a couple years as a young man.
Only exception for MMG teams is when playing the Jugger rules, especially for Germans .

I know the recon squad will absolutely be showing up in my US lists.
If MMG's were 40pts and move and shoot they would be better but the jeeps need to be more expensive.

Leafblower is a term borrowed from 40k guard lists with dozens of guns. In BA that is when you spam HE. BBQ is when you spam flamethrowers
