I bought one of these recently and have been training with it since and for me it has definitely made a difference for the good in my shooting. My pre shot steadiness and also post shot hold have both improved noticeably. The best part, at least to me, is that I train in the comfort of my home when I get the chance and am not spending money on ammo and I do not keep making the same mistakes.
Just got this as an xmas gift and love it. Dry fired about 30 times and already can see the bad habits I've picked up and am consciously adjusting now. This is a really great training aid, and fact I can use it in my living room with snap caps saves me a ton of time and money on range fees and ammo. Thanks, Mantis!
Picked one up from my favorite gun store I was skeptical at first My son and I tried it on our Ruger Precision Rifle for a few weeks and tracked improvements instantly and in a few weeks and I've actually placed 3rd and 1st in some of the local shoots thank you Mantis
I own a Sig P320 X-Carry (Nitron) and recently picked up the Mantis x2, then soon after upgraded to the x3. I've only recorded some dry fire so far but will be on the range soon. I've probably fired about 300 dry shots using the x2 over about 3 weeks. The other day I took my 18 yr old daughter shooting in the desert here in AZ. My live fire, instead of filling the whole right side of the target with holes, was grouped within about 6"x6" at the head and about 6"x8" on the body. The improvement I noticed is absolutely attributed to the Mantis X system. My first shot was actually on the X, no joke. My daughter and I were like, WOW. This product coupled with training vids from guys like Chris Sajnog and Active Self Protection will undoubtedly increase your skill level.
I just tried the Mantis X for the first time today at the range enjoyed the feedback quite a bit to lock down and remember in terms of technique. But I'm extremely happy with it
It's an accelerometer and clinometer. So it can detect the position of your gun vs time. You're really paying for the analysis which the software is doing, as the device itself is fairly simple. You'll see these used in golf swing training devices that attach to the end of your club. In golf they aren't that accurate because there's a lot going on with the shaft which the device cannot pick up, and devices don't have enough precision to really accurately reflect what's happening.
@@Alex-oy6wb I haven't tested or used any of the Mantis type devices, so I can't give an objective review. Would love to see Mantis vs reality, however. These devices are lousy (IMO) for golf because the club is just moving too fast. The clubhead is moving ~90-110mph, and these things aren't accurate enough or fast enough to keep up. Might be just fine for something like firearms training, however.
I m very exited with this product, is a great one! I have a question, what does the circle in the target shooting figure mean? Are they MOA? or one imaginary inch at a certain distance? Thank you!
How does the mantis know while I’m holding the firearm and also pulling the trigger, before the shot ? Is there a sensor looking at the trigger finger?
Check out our MT-2001 Universal Magazine Adapter. It will allow you to mount the Mantis to the bottom of your magazine. We also have adapters for Wilson Combat 47D magazines.
is this that guy people in the comment section of Chen goes fishing everyone is talking about? heard pramantiss is called mantisx now. I don’t know who that is but apparently he makes bad stuff very bad not good stuff.
does anybody know what the pin number for bluetooth connection is, mine won't connect to my phone and i've tried 1234, 0000 but they don't work, help please
Thanks for the question! You don't have to connect through your phone's bluetooth settings - just make sure that bluetooth is on and open the app. Your device should connect automatically. If you're still having problems, you can let us know here: mantisx.com/pages/contact-us and we'll get you sorted.

Coolest product I've seen in a LONG time!
Thanks for your awesome product guys!
This looks badass, definitely gonna look at picking one up!
You don't really explain HOW it works though or what exactly it does.
It tracks the steadiness of your trigger pull and reports to you ways that you can improve - mantisx.com/pages/how-it-works-1

When dry firing, what is the recommended distance to the target? When live firing, where does the phone have to be?
Any distance is acceptable, and the phone only needs to be close enough to the sensor to maintain a bluetooth connection.
What exactly is the red emblem supposed to be?
Looks like the letter M to me. And maybe in the shape of a praying mantis head? Just my guess.
@@interloper32 surprised it took 8 months for anyone to notice.
BTW, I do use snap caps when dry firing.
I have a Mac mini with bluetooth. Will that work? I dont want to have to buy a "Smartphone" for ANY REASON.
Sorry, our apps only work on smart phones or tablets.
Will this mount on a Sig P229 and Walther PPS M2 ?
Mounts to ANY gun that has a rail.
Be nice if it had sound no place to turn on if any
Можно это устройство ставить на оружие 12 каллибра?
The new Mantis X7 works on 12 gauge shotguns
How does the dam thing turn off....?
Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds.
Unfortunately my 1911 gun has no rail to place MantisX

Not sure what you're referring to. For 10 years MantisX has been MantisX.

Tightening grip while pulling the trigger? Lol.
Common reason for pulls
