    Got rid of my 2019 Nissan Frontier since it was worth more now than it was 2 years ago when I bought it. I have no regrets getting a 2022 Nissan Frontier as there is a world of difference between the two. There's still some things that don't make no damn sense though. The LED lights in the bed are a gimmick. There is absolutely no excuse not to have every light on that truck be a LED in this day and age. Since I don't have four wheel drive the slot for the four wheel drive control should have been a 12 volt outlet. The radio isn't the best sounding but that info display sure does have a big azz bezel.

    I just bought a 22 , just time ever having a truck . When you slow down and take your foot off the pedal, do you have a little tiny push back almost like a dug happen? My foot was off the break and as it was shifting down the rpm meter bounced a tiny bit. Is that normal with the 9 speed?

    I know they added a rear sway bar I think would help overall handling, especially when towing heavy loads, I hope to test drive one soon but they are hard to come by here in MN. for some reason, at least thats what the dealer told me.

    It's nice & such, but a lot of people are being priced out of the market. 35k give/take, & 45k give/take for other models. Ya'll be out of your freaking mind.

    I JUST got this. I did a trade in and got this exact color and model with SV yesterday. I had an 09 Titan before. Going down in size means less storage but it has much better features and a large bezel, especially for a mid size. Everybody thinks it looks gorgeous. I'm getting a Tonneau Cover and bed liner for it to increase the storage. It handles very well. Had to tweak the settings on the seat as it was stiff on my neck. Had to reduce the lumbar and push the back up and I found it worked best for me.
    I wouldn't pay $40k for one as that's the price of a 2022 Tundra on Base model with towing, bed liner, and the safety features. I got mine much cheaper.
    It's just a crazy market for vehicles right now, especially trucks. Many dealers are marking their vehicles up by anywhere from $5k-$15k. Best to wait if you don't need anything.

    Always buy base model, don't ever buy upgraded trim, you don't need all that leather or tech radio stuff for extra $10-$15k upgrade price. if you drive safe like a pro, you wont need blind spotter mirror or auto braking with lane driving assist. Save your money because gas prices are going to hit $7.59 a gallon at the pump by next year 2022.

      Yeah these trucks aren't a value anymore. I bought a 19 P4X loaded with leather, power seats etc... for 35K out the door. And that has a real dana 44 rear locker. Saw these up close yesterday and expected to be more wowed in person. Actually, they are more underwhelming in person. Almost seemed smaller to me. Although they are mostly same. Maybe if they had a smaller displacement turbo that offered 350-400 lbs of low end torque I'd be more interested. But this new 3.8 DI motor offers same performance and MPG's as the outgoing VQ 40. The next gen Colorado/Ranger are going to destroy this with their 2.7 turbos. Won't even be close. This truck is not future proofed. Took them too long to release and the price points are too high for what it offers. IT will have a short run of success competing with the current generations of mid sizers. But once Ford offers the next gen ranger later next year it will be all over for the frontier. At which point you probably knock 4K off MSRP. So if you want this truck at a much cheaper price just wait a year.

    The engine sounds like a diesel! Are all the frontiers sound like this one?

    • @HiPlains1
      @HiPlains1 3 года назад

      They all have the same 3.8 DI motor so yeah they sound same. The last generation used the 4 liter VQ40 with port injection. IMO a better motor being you won't have the issues with carbon build up in the intakes. The VQ 40 had a better sound as well. This new motor really does not offer more performance. Same 0 to 60 and the same MPG's. The 9 speed has less aggressive shifting and more hesitation. Although the 9 speed has better gearing for towing. Overall, I'm a little underwhelmed with the normally aspirated motor being GM and Ford will soon offer smaller displacement turbos that will destroy this truck as far as low in torque. Plus they will have better MPG's as well. I live at higher elevations so I'm already crossing this one off the list being I've heard from many reviewers its performance is less then desirable at elevation. With induction, you don't have this problem.
