Asylum seeker ‘inspired by Gaza revenge’ jailed for life over pensioner’s murder in Hartlepool

- A Moroccan asylum seeker who murdered a pensioner in the street in “revenge” for the Israel-Hamas conflict has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 45 years.
Terrorist Ahmed Alid, 45, stabbed Terence Carney, 70, six times in Hartlepool town centre early on October 15 - eight days after Hamas attacked Israel.
Minutes earlier he attempted to murder his housemate, Christian convert and former bodybuilder Javed Nouri, by breaking into his bedroom and hacking at him while he slept.
Alid shouted “Allahu Akbar” - “God is great” - during the attack at the Home Office-approved asylum seekers’ accommodation before fleeing into the street, still armed with a knife.
Doorbell camera footage showed Mr Carney, who was out walking in the town centre, cry out “No, no” as he was stabbed by the stranger.
Prosecutors at Teesside Crown Court said it was not a frenzied attack but a deliberate attempt to target Mr Carney’s body repeatedly before he walked off, leaving his victim for dead.
In a holding cell at Middlesbrough police station after his arrest, Alid launched into a speech in Arabic saying that “Allah willing, Gaza would return to be an Arab country” and how he would have continued his “raid” if his hands had not been injured.

The home office will probably re home him under a new identity upon release. Then he’s registered along with the other 40,000+ on watch. Your approach is too soft. Hard deportation is the only way. Everyone can find a job if they want to, people choose to not spend their wage on the family. The family should sue the Home Office. Morocco has no problems why was he allowed to make any asylum claim? Deport him to Morocco to serve his sentence. His housemate who has falsely converted to Christianity should also be deported.

@@geemo4284 None. Someone I know has just returned from Morocco. This is down to the High Court. They can spin any amount of lies and when the Home Office do not believe them off they go to the High Court who whitters on about Human Rights. Best bet is for them to turn the boats around in the Channel. The Home Offices needs to stop giving out 6 month visas. Let it be two months tops if that.

I may be cynical But it's probably because it happened in the north-east in an old industrial town that has been quite rundown poor and neglected by various governments for years ...Plus the fact that the victim was a pensioner therefore "worthless" and not one of these marvellous bright shiny immigrants come to our shores (on Rubber dinghies) to rebuild the country with their doctors engineers skills etc....

@@robmule4647 Well either way - the vetting process for asylum claims are not as thorough as they should be, simply due to how understaffed and mismanaged this system is.
I'm guessing when asylum seekers do finally get their claims processed at this moment - they probably make a judgement without really vetting the person out in favour of trying to process more claimants in a system that is already so mismanaged and underfunded.
This sucks as it allows dangerous people to stay in the UK while potentially rejecting those who may have a genuine claim to stay within the UK.
He mist be desperate to seek that asylum if hes willing to be rehomed at his majesties pleasure.
