I want to thank you so much. I suffered with tennis elbow for about 3 years. I had four cortisone shots, lots of physical therapy, threat of possible surgery, etc. I gave your advice a shot. I did the exercises for two months and I am cured. I can't thank you enough. Unbelievable!!!!

When I first saw this video I thought it was a classic infomercial attempting to sell a gimmick to desperate people. A week later, I was desperate enough to buy in and get one. I am so glad that I did. After working out the trigger points (muscle knots) in my tennis elbow with a foam roller and completely resting for 2 weeks with occasional ibuprofen, subsequent frequent workouts with the Therabar have now saved me from tennis elbow. I am a true believer. Thank you.

I followed Jamie's instructions completely. I had tennis elbow in lead (left arm) from golf. I've had it for 2 years. Saw two orthopedic surgeons and went through PT and home stretches with little improvement. With this technique using roller bar and flexbar (red then green) saw improvement within a few days and after 6 weeks NO PAIN. So happy I came across this video.

I suffered elbow/ tricep tendonitis, golfers elbow, tennis elbow in the space of 2 years and spent a fortune on physiotherapy, ultrasound, acupuncture, stretching exercises, massage therapy, which was all commendable and gave temporary relief but never got to the root of the problem, until I was fortunate enough to meet a very clever pilates instructor who was also an osteopath, and he told me that all elbow problems originate in the neck and upper back and not just muscle imbalances in the arms, just 2 weeks of neck and shoulder mobility exercises got rid of my elbow pain forever. I recommend to anybody with elbow problems to seek work on their necks and upper backs using massage therapy, the tightness on these areas are finding weak points to radiate pain, such as the elbows.

    • @gastondeveaux3783
      @gastondeveaux3783 9 лет назад +3

Anyone who generalizes by saying, :"...all elbow problems originate in the neck and upper back" shouldn't be allowed to legally take money from people who have health issues. They can originate in the neck and back area, but not always, not even close. Absolute nonsense. It may have worked in your case, but every situation should be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Calm down Mr Keyboard Warrior Gaston, I'm just expressing a personal opinion from personal experience after spending a lot of money on physiotherapy and acupuncture treatments, working on muscle imbalances with eccentric exercises, which did absolutely nothing for my elbow problems. I wasn't clear in what I said actually, the osteopath whom I attended said that he personally had never come across an elbow issue which didn't originate from the upper back and neck, again, it was his personal opinion which he is entitled to and I believed him as it clearly worked for me and I'm just trying to help others in looking further to just doing forearm exercises.

I am simply amazed. I ran across this video while searching for ways to relieve tennis elbow. I've had issues with it off and on for the last couple of years, but the last two months have been particularly painful. I work out every morning, and it was severely limiting my routine. So...I ordered the FlexBar on Friday and it arrived yesterday. I did the exercises exactly as described in the video...spent about 10-15 minutes total throughout my evening with the FlexBar. This morning I was virtually pain free in the gym. To say I'm pleased is an understatement. I will definitely keep the bar beside my chair and use it each night while watching TV. It's rather amazing what just 15 minutes did for me...and the cost was minimal (especially compared to regular office visits to my chiropractor). Thank you so much for this video!

    1. Should I also continue taking anti inflammatory meds?
    2. What about icing?
    3. Should there be rest days from doing these exercises?
    4. What about day to day activities... should I try to limit the use of the affected elbow or just use it like normal and fight through the discomfort?
    5. Should I wear a tennis elbow brace at any point during the day?

THE FLEX BAR - YOUR PT DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THIS! So I've been dealing with tennis elbow for years. Had cortisone shots, isn't being done anymore. Too much yoga, boot camp and old(er) age. I could not even walk without elbow pain at some point! My chiro does PT and massaged to remove scar tissue, icing, electric stimulation. Nothing really worked. I texted him about the Flex Bar and he was super dismissive. No need for that. Any rag mimics the Flex Bar. WRONG. I did a ton of research, so this is what worked for me: Get a diagnosis first. Icing didn't work for me, hot water from the shower head first thing in the morning to warm up the elbow. Massage with an object like the flat side of a cell phone to break up scar tissue and warm up the area. Can be done anytime. Do Jamie's Flex Bar exercises. Throughout the day when pain would be noticeable or just regular intervals, I did my spider web hand exercises to strengthen muscles around the tendons. Opening and closing of the hand, later with a rubber band for resistance. Even at Target pushing a shopping cart or in the car. Keeping the muscles engaged, flushing out toxins. Rest will do nothing. Get cardio, get the blood moving, switch gears. Avoid the exercises/movements that got you into this mess for a while. 6 weeks max and I am HEALED. Months of pain, expenses, time spend and this got me 100% healed. $20. Months later, still good. Back to everything.

I did it faithfully, but only got worse. Then I saw your videos on this and got the flexbar and continued some massage and now I am in the home (pardon the pun) stretch to seeing full recovery. Hope I can add to the conversation here! From what I'm finding clinically, the onset of tennis elbow has much to do with subtle *neck dysfunction* . There are still clearly some elbow-specific issues that need to be addressed, but the neck may hold the key to understanding why the elbow becomes an issue in the first place. If anyone's interested, I have put together a simple video for my patients explaining the link and some basic exercises to address! Hope it helps! ruclips.net/video/b2D3-IVAz-o/видео.html

      @@JamieSDreyer I'll ad
mit, it's humbling. But what's interesting is that with this stiffer resistance, I can feel the injured areas in the forearms actually working/contracting, which didn't always happen with the "easy" bar (often it was just "the overall burn" as the entire forearm complained about having to work so hard.)

Jamie Dreyer's explanation in this video was great. I used the stick and the various theraband flexbars and there was immediate relief. After doing the exercises for a few months (trailing off), I fully recovered from my tennis elbow symptoms. AMAZING, and THANK YOU, Jamie !

Thanks for posting the video. For me, the tendonitis was lingering for a couple of months and improvement was slow. The exercises with the Stick and FlexBar have helped immensely with noticeable improvement within a week.

Can confirm, feels much better after the only first use, starting out with the weaker bar. This is what many overlook when recommending the flex bars, that you should start off with something really easy as you have explained in this video. Thank you very much for the excellent video, even though it's been 7 years. Cheers.

Great stuff. For those wondering, you don't even really need to buy the products. Simply do the motion and you should feel relief. Having the products may be more effective, but simply doing the motions for a a few seconds to a couple minutes seems to provide relief.... at least for me it does.

Yep, I had a tennis elbow on the right arm and was treated with the "old" method - I ended hurting more and more until I just stopped the physical therapy and rested my arm back to health. No wonder I'm so cynical about physical therapy. But now it's starting on the left arm and I'm going to give this new method a try - thanks for the demonstration and the explanations!

Jamie, thank you very much. This technique worked. I had a "stick" I was carrying around and never thought to use it. I tried it out last night and this morning and I can honestly say it feels better. This is after about a month of dealing with a pain in the elbow area from dumbell preacher curls that, in retrospect, were too heavy for me, or my forearms. I also ordered the flex stick but have started out with wrist rollers in the interim and probably in addition to the flex stick because the wrist roller does a similar movement under longer tension. You also said 3 minutes with the stick if you're really ambitious. No kidding, 2 minutes and I'm ready to stop. Maybe I'll get to three. Thanks again for the great advice.

Thank you Jamie! Thumbs UP all the way. I'm a photographer and can't take any time off and can't stop with the motions I do all day long. Constantly lifting cameras from my side to eye level easily a thousand times a day. I think this therapy and some anti-inflammatory meds should help me out. I also subbed. Hello James, I am a guitar player and had horrible tendonitis in my fret-hand wrist (and now have tennis elbow) but I found a video of drummer who suffered from he same thing and he nailed the cure. To break the crystallization off the tendons which is what causes the internal abrasion and then painful inflation, the key is blood flow. Get two 5 gal buckets. One with ice water, the other with hot temped (as hot as you can stand it) water. Dip your appendage in ice for 3 mins, then hot 3 mins, repeat 4 times. Then massage the heck out of it with (using your stick looks cool) preferred lotion, oil or cream. The science is cold rushes blood in to warm the area, the hot breaks up the junk and moves everything along. That's why sports pro's do it. It breaks the cyclical cycle of doom & they're ready to hit the game fast. It worked great for me after trying all else including a specialist. Cheap too. Steve in Boise.

Thrilled with my progress in using a Blue Theraband for 9 days. I play pickleball and found the Tennis Elbow exercises helped a great deal right away and today I added your Golfer's Elbow exercises and they are useful too. Twisting the Blue Band is easier when you twist from the edges rather than having the hands closer together.

Thank you for the great video - very informative and the best tennis elbow solution I've seen. Just received a couple of Flex Bars and one of the massage stick variants available to work on a case of tennis elbow that I developed about a month ago. Looking forward to a complete resolution very soon.

Thanks Jamie. That was very clear and concise. I have the Thera-band and it worked last year when I had "golfers" elbow.
RIght now it looks like I've developed "tennis" elbow. I think I developed this from doing slow tricep dips with too much flaring out of the elbows. Going to give the dips a rest for a while and focus on the Thera-band therapy. Thanks again.

I had pain for about 3 monrths after i think i slept on my arm the wring way one night.. My elbow hurt from that and I got both tennis and golf elbow in the same arm. I just bought this green bar and it followed the excercises . It hurt first but after just 1 day it helped. on Day 2 my arm felt stronger. I kept using it and all the pain is gone.!! This really works and i still use the bar to make sure i am streched out.
