It's so awesome to get to experience all this music for the first time with you all! As with last video, let me know what artists you want to see me react to. I won't do ones that I've actually listened to before because then there's not really a point. Thanks everyone, I love you all! 😍
One thing you need to realize is car radio is a true story and is based on how while he was in college someone stole his car radio. Which forced him to have to deal with all the negative thoughts and emotions he was having eg. suicide. If you remember that than the lyrics actually mean a lot more than most other of the songs they have.
BILLY IS WRONG. This is how it all went. Twenty One Pilots (self titled)- 2009 Regional at Best- 2011 (demo) Vessel- 2013 Blurryface- 2015 The songs on RAB that reappeared on an album have been altered. All these songs are very deep in thought, very depressing. Only few understand the lyrics.
Basically, Twenty one pilots aren't hip hop, rap, pop, rock, or any of that. They're more or their own kind of genre. A lot of Tyler's (the singer) lyrics relate to depression, anxiety, and other things that he had dealt with in his early years. But now, he sings it for his fans. To help them get by and to motivate them that they ARE something and to stay alive. He has a song called Truce that is about staying alive and that you CAN do this. And Car Radio is more poetic. It's talking about how someone stole his car radio back in college and he was left alone with his thoughts. And those thoughts are things that he didn't want to think about and that's why he listened to the radio so he could escape it. Maybe you should look more into them and learn more. They're really cool and I love them. They're my favorite thing in the world. You can maybe react to their vines?? They're so funny. You would like them. And also maybe you can react to Ode to Sleep(about his demons), Guns for Hands(talking about how he can't sleep bc people can be taking their lives at any moment and he can't stop it), or kitchen sink(has many things that are too long to talk about so in not going to do that). And some songs from his solo album from 2007 when he was 17 he wrote. A lot of them are about God and his struggles with his life. Some good ones are Drown, Blasphemy, Save(asking God to save him). And another good one is Addict with a Pen(also about God). You'll like them. They're good. Next time tho please listen Yo the lyrics rather than the video. You would understand better. Thanks❤️
Is there any chance of you listening to some more twenty one pilots songs? As you can tell by your small sampling, they have a very diverse sound. I would just love to see what you think of more of their music.
Hey! I'm in a local band called "Leaving Cardboard Houses" and we actually just released a new track called "Art of Distraction", and its been getting a lot of comparisons to Twenty One Pilots and NF. I don't particularly love begging for attention on RUclips comments lol, but as a huge twenty one pilots fan myself, I know I've been really searching for other artists to make similar music, and I thought I'd share it with the clique and see if you guys approve? haha
This is not rap This is not hip hop It's just an attempt to make the voices stop It's also classified as schizoid pop according to the Clique and the boys themselves. If you really want to know what the songs are about actually listen to the lyrics. They're more than just pretty faces and good musicians. The blurryface album is a great example because it's about how Tyler is fighting his blurryface (aka his depression) or in Josh's case, his anxiety.
Twenty Øne PilØts Fan and he was probably pretty confused about what they were talking about after the singing because there’s a lot behind that and since he’s new... he won’t get it
You can clearly hear him singing in this one ruclips.net/video/N82CmrWAKR0/видео.html but it's also kinda sad because you can hear how much his voice is shaking from his anxiety 🥺
Haven’t found their sound... dude they are there own sound. They are their own genre. And how can you not like Car Radio?!?! It is sooo dope! You need to listen to Kitchen Sink, Fall Away, Trees (live), Guns for Hands, Ruby. Forget that... just listen to everything!
I like how you’re so much nicer than other people who react to music, yet you don’t sugarcoat anything and you’re still honest. You just earned yourself a sub
twenty one pilots is ukelele screamo rap. Also, they're the best and if you think they're good on their records, you should see them live. Great performances and also JUST SUCH GOOD MUSIC. |-/ also I may or may not have tøp tattoo. hehe gr8 video Mat, so glad you reacted to this one!!!
On the one hand I'm a liiiiiitle disappointed that you haven't listened to them, but on the other, I'm glad I get to experience the journey with you ❤️❤️❤️
Title: "NEVER listened to TØP" Me: "HOW is that possible?" Mathew (listening to Stressed Out): "Oh, that's this Song! I had absolutely no idea that was TØP!" Me: "Sounds about right."
"an interesting band" That is an understatement. On June 13th, 2020. They made us sit through a 24-hour live stream, decode multiple things that could open files. From there we had to download the files and decode morse code and other references. Eventually leading us to a website where we were given hints to look for in the files to unlock another code to another file. This lasted nearly 48 hours. Discord servers were panicked. People were betrayed. The band sat back and watched us panic while laughing.
Maybe you should try to do an album reaction of Twenty One Pilots. I'm interested in seeing what you would think of their music and your video is high quality to me so I think TOP fans will come flocking to you.
Twenty one pilots is a story, a journey and unless you get it then you'll never get it. We should all ship off to our own planet cos even after using music no one *still* understands, sigh
Car Radio is actually the song that got me into Twenty One Pilots. It's so so special to me and I will cry my eyes out every time I hear it, it is the song that saved my life. When I was in the darkest place of my life I found it, and listened to it on repeat while laying in bed all day and crying. I actually got tears in my eyes just thinking about the song haha
you listened to most of my favorite Twenty One Pilots songs, so I'm super happy about that, but I'm a bit disappointed you didn't like them as much as I do xD I can rap most of their songs, I'm still working on HeavyDirtySoul xD they're my second favorite band, Panic! being my first (which I still want you to react to them, I'd really like to see your reaction to some of the music videos). I love this whole reacting to bands series, and I hope it continues! not sure if you saw, but i sent you a snap of me listening to One Direction this morning because of your last video xD anyway, great video as always!
Haha that's awesome, would love to hear you rap xD. I already have listened to a bunch of Panic! is the problem haha, grew up with friends who did. I'm glad you like it, I think it's fun! Also, I will defs check the SC out!
ah okay xD I still love Panic!, TOP, MCR, and all the other "emo" bands because I'm apparently still in my "emo" phase, even though I'm gonna be 18 in 6 days xD I just really like Panic!'s music videos because they're really freaking random lol
Ahhh, I don't really get how car radio can be, "emo." It symbolises that he realized the messed up shit that he has been doing is not okay. "Somebody stole my car radio and now I just sit in silence." He was taking it easily, yet the thing that had been keeping him away from reality has been stolen or taken from him. Emos try to make themselves the victim and that's not the same situation in this one. (Sorry that I came off as triggered O o F.)
I'm lucky first time I heard their songs (minus their popular songs) was live at their concert loved them ever since! Would love to hear the thoughts on their new album.
Myeah Malalis car radio was the first song I ever heard from them I didn't care about it either but I learned what it was about and they I gave it another chance now I think it's a really cool song
Car radio was the second or third song I heard from them, and to be honest I didn't care for it. The second time I heard it I actually searched up the lyrics and learnt it by heart. Opinions change so easily haha
They know there sound they just like to change up their sound a lot like how in sounds they transition to different sounds that’s one of their favorite things to do
Ok so I’m in a rabbit hole of TOP reactions today because of the release of Levitate (you’ll love it because it’s their first fully rap song). I have to say that I never was bored and never cringed watching this. lol. That’s saying a lot. Your editing was perfect and fast paced. Thank you for that. Fully enjoyed your reaction. I enjoy all genres and I love every TOP song. Car Radio was my first and I’m still not mad at you! Good job.
One of the things I really like about their cover you listened to, is that they love the original and they didn't want to change something that they thought was already perfect.
You should react to more Twenty one pilots I would like you to see more songs in the Vessel album/Regional at best album/ self titled album Their genre is Ukulele screamo schizophrenic pop
Twenty One Pilots is actually considered 'Schizophrenic Pop', which is a genre that their fans gave them. Also, they said themselves that they have no clue what genre they really play, but they will just go with what's given them.
I remember when my parents heard car radio at the end my dad said " well that wasn't very silent" and I just sat there and said " ' sometimes quiet is violent' " But that song just captures the very thinking of how when you have nothing to distract you how loud your voices in your head become.
I personally think this is one of the best Twenty One Pilots reaction ever. The way he explained what he thought about the band was very easy the understand. They are a interesting band and it's hard to put one music genre on them.
when he was talking about how good of a rapper Tyler was during "stressed out" I was like ha you should hear heavydirtysoul and then he listened to that one next and I lost my cool😂
Car Radio is such a philosophical song. To truly appreciate it you need to listen to the actual MESSAGE. These guys are just incredible. So unique, deep, creative, different. Not your cookie cutter pop Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, or whatever the hell that stupid boy band that Harry Stiles is or was in....these guys are gifted song writers that write with true meaning and just....dynamic. Saw them live twice and they were epic both times.
Ok so they're considered alternative and the fans are in "the clique" or "the skeleton clique" and they're really good. Don't worry they're cool amazing. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I love this band. I already learned to rap with them.
8:09 the dude stop the music every second and then get to say that don't understand what they were doing yet. Come on, everyone knows that Car Radio is a masterpiece with a deep meaning.
👏Listen👏To👏My👏Chemical👏Romance👏 Also, Tyler Joseph sings and Josh Dun does the drums CLIQUE WHERE YOU AT MAN LMAO THE CLIP MATT SHOWED OF JOSH SINGING WAS JOSH AND TYLER SINGING JOSH’S SISTERS SONG
I really love both versions of Cancer. To me MCR's version sounds as if Gerard is detached watching the person dying from cancer and saying goodbye (which he was). TOP's version sounds like Tyler is the one dying from cancer and saying goodbye.
When you listened to cancer i cried. (I cry when i hear wither versions) and when you said that Tyler sounds like Gerard i wasnt surprised. Because MCR was an inspiration to Tyler.
Am I the only one annoyed that he kept saying they were "pop" Twenty Øne Piløts is not in any particular genre because all of their songs are completely different in different genres. Many fans refer to their music as "Skitzo music" Because it's all different.
I really enjoyed this video and all of your commentary! I would definitely suggest that you listen to the rest of Vessel and their self titled EP. Ode to sleep is by far my favorite TOP song but they have a bunch of great ones. I also think you'd really like Lane boy based on your opinions so far
You should've listened to Ode To Sleep, Lane Boy and Guns For Hands aaaaand Isle Of Flightless Birds, Kitchen Sink and Fall Away because like they're amazing
I would suggest you listen to more of TØP or Tyler's solo album, No Phun Intended. If you're willing to hear some of their more meaningful and emotional songs, I seriously recommend it. This band saved my life, and I love sharing it and recommending songs! (P.s., my favorite TØP songs are Lovely, Clear, Polorize, Forest, Trees, Before You Start Your Day, We Don't Believe What's On TV, Taxi Cab and Holding On To You.)
It's so awesome to get to experience all this music for the first time with you all! As with last video, let me know what artists you want to see me react to. I won't do ones that I've actually listened to before because then there's not really a point. Thanks everyone, I love you all! 😍

Yeah, the lyrical content of car radio isn't "emo" but it tells one of the deepest, greatest story's ever, at least in my opinion.
thank yøu!!
scott archibald nobody actually stole his car radio its jyst a metaphor
thankyou i was waiting for someone to answer this
Abbey Brannon Somebody actually stole his car radio, it's not just a metaphor. Look it up
Twenty One Pilots aren't just about how good the song sounds, you have to understand the whole story and the lyrics especially.

Took me quite a while to decide what’s my favourite ... but Car Radio truly kills it for me ❤️
BILLY IS WRONG.
This is how it all went.
Twenty One Pilots (self titled)- 2009
Regional at Best- 2011 (demo)

Twenty Øne PilØts Fan and he was probably pretty confused about what they were talking about after the singing because there’s a lot behind that and since he’s new... he won’t get it

2:20 that was my reaction too when I first listened to the song and my third time listening to twenty one pilots
👏Listen👏To👏My👏Chemical👏Romance👏
Also, Tyler Joseph sings and Josh Dun does the drums
CLIQUE WHERE YOU AT MAN
LMAO THE CLIP MATT SHOWED OF JOSH SINGING WAS JOSH AND TYLER SINGING JOSH’S SISTERS SONG
I really love both versions of Cancer. To me MCR's version sounds as if Gerard is detached watching the person dying from cancer and saying goodbye (which he was). TOP's version sounds like Tyler is the one dying from cancer and saying goodbye.
there's so many other great twenty one pilots songs tho!
Markie Dawn I agree
Who else just looked at his eyebrows the whole time
Twenty Øne Piløts literally have their own little kind of unique genre. If i were to put them into any music genre it'd be genius.
The clique likes to call them "scitsofranic pop"
xxblacksabbethxx
*schizophrenic pop
ukelele screamo schizophrenic pop*
xxblacksabbethxx schizophrenic pop**
O I was so confused untill I saw the replies
*ukulele screamø
When you listened to cancer i cried. (I cry when i hear wither versions) and when you said that Tyler sounds like Gerard i wasnt surprised. Because MCR was an inspiration to Tyler.
Mathew: Let's do this
RUclips: **thinks i want to see an ad at that very moment**
😐😐
Personally you shouldn't inturupt the song every 5 sec. I get that you want to give your opinion on the songs and Tyler but it starts to get anoying.
“He can hit those high notes”
Have you heard of this person called Brendon Urie?
"pop music"
When in Heavydirtysoul he says "this is not Rap this is not hip-hop" it's quite literal because it's whats called "Street Poetry"
imagine what he’d say about ode to sleep. that’s like eight different songs in one
Twenty one pilots Is so underrated! i love the band!!!
I don't know how to feel about this
It’s so cool that Tøp did a cover for an MCR song
Twenty One Pilot is amazing!! Especially car radio and the music video. You should react to their music video.
Am I the only one annoyed that he kept saying they were "pop"
Twenty Øne Piløts is not in any particular genre because all of their songs are completely different in different genres.
Many fans refer to their music as "Skitzo music" Because it's all different.
3:57 Can't wait for his priceless reaction to his rapping.
The heck, you skipped the scream of ride!
