him calling nico *"dark red riding hood"* and *"red demon"* gave me 10 more years of life thank you
sameee
LMAOOOO
Mad max darth vader added 10 other
caution tape people
His not nico his blurryface
You calling Dema “Azkaban” is probably the most accurate comparison ever.
Except that they aren't taken because of crimes
PLEASENNØ do like Sirius black in Azkaban
*so
At one point Tyler posted a picture of jenna (his wife) in a yellow dress and Josh with yellow hair and said his mom told him to highlight important things in his life then trench was yellow so someone made a piont that he highlighted not only them but us too
That's so beautiful
That's deep
He highlighted us by hyping the yellow color for this era up. We would be naturally inclined to wear the yellow too. He highlights himself with that yellow jacket.
Edit: And tape. The tape also highlights certain parts of us.
I'm not crying you're crying
💛
The niners represents mental illness and they have names :
Andre : fear of staying the same
Lisden : anxiety
Keons : fears and struggles
Nico : depression
Reisdro : self-doubt
Sacarver : fear of losing a loved one
Nills : fear of defeat
Vetomo : fear of conformity
Listo : fear of abandonment
And thank for your videos stay alive |-/
Spooky Jim damn disappointed that I just found out each one represented something different
Spooky Jim i only knew like 3 of them so thank you
They have names? I had no idea, oops.
Where do I find more information about that?
take me øut and finish this waste øf a live go on the dmaorg wiki where they explain all of the entries and the bishops are included in that

Thank you for this comment
Wow! This blew up- thanks for all the likes folks! 👽
Also "or you eyebrow sort of raising and you get a *bink* *bing* "
I love how you’re fangirling over the fact that it is Josh. You’re slowly becoming one of us...
The funniest is that in de description box he say :Josh Dunn...
we all need a Josh, that beacon of light that always will pull you out of this mental state
There’s a lot you need to know to understand the story of trench, you need to know the concept of their last album Blurryface, and all the cryptic info that happened during their year long hiatus, I’ve been a fan for a while but even I don’t completely understand the story, it’s a lot dude.
i mean blurryface is kind of easy to take a handle of, it wasn't even a concept album lol
Digression Media ive always seen it as a concept album but that’s just me, anyways, while its not a complex story it’s still something you need to be familiar with to understand Trench
i also believe BF is a lot like a concept album! though, when explaining it, tyler has said that it's less of a concept album and more of an album that has a running common theme. i think both make sense, but i don't think his intention while writing BF was one of a concept album. i hope this makes sense!
Bellamia Lavaniegos that makes sense! Thank you! :)
Digression Media what no BF is def a concept album
Y’all ever hear the expression “death rides a white horse” ?
Black Magic i mean, if you’re talking about Nico...i’ve heard the “Lady on the Grey”...
emphasis on the Lady....
so Nico represents death... So in jumpsuit Tyler is running from death....OMG that's actually so sad
@@heyjude6680 "Death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit"
oh what the *_fuck_*
@@heyjude6680
Wasn't it established that Nico is the real name of Blurryface and that Blurryface was a part of his mind that provides insecurity and shit
My fave part is when he speaks on nico and the niners then say
“dude that’s a bop waht the hell is goin on up there”
That's what Twenty One Pilots is about. Friendship and sick bops.
I love how he just gets the whole dema story without knowing what it really is
dude i can't believe how great you are at analyzing that shit, you get so many things so right without knowing the back story and i'm extremely impressed
You beat me to posting some variation of this same comment
Travis Hunt lol same it’s so impressive props to him!
so true
i knooow hes amazing
Check out the pop song profesor channel
The joy in the "it is him!" gives me life
During jumpsuit
Him:"if that's Josh then I'm wanna scream"
Everyone else when they found out:*screams*
"yes mr. joseph" literally me
the end of Levitate IS him getting dragged back, it's a cycle like you said! just like depression. when he's in Dema, there are a lot of yellow flowers in his drawer, because he's tried escaping several times before.
i don't remember if you've seen the heavydirtysoul music video, but if not you totally should, it's kinda connected with it, at least i believe so.
keep going bill i absolutely love this video
With the flower theory do you think it could represent the number of released albums? Like how Tyler uses music to cope with parts of his life. He uses music as an escape and the flowers may represent escape in the theory. I hope this makes sense.
I think the flowers represent every time Tyler has tried to escape Dema and has failed
heavy dirty soul is connected with it and the driver in the video is nico and its the same car in trench
"Nico and the nine lords of mental health"
Lol spot on
The way he gets dragged away even sitting with friends. That, that hits home.
Leah - · - you didn’t have to hurt me like this
swear if only i could like a comment multiple times
I: *watches a lot of videos to try to understand the universe o twenty one pilots*
You: *after listening ONE TIME THE SONG you get EVERYTHING CORRECT AND YOU UNDERSTAN EVERYTHING*
I don't know how you do it man xd
Drea Moyano same😔😂
the "red demons" are bishops, each has a name that correlates with a Blurryface song. Nico(no specific song), Keons(Heavydirtysoul), Vetemo(lane boy), Sacarver(tear in my heart), Andre (fairly local) Lisden (polarize), Reisdro (doubt), Nills (goner), Listo (Ride). Each bishop represents one of Tyler's insecurities n such. When Nico (the bishop on the white horse) approached tyler he put black oil paint on his neck, which was a reference to tyler wearing black paint on his hands and neck during the BF era. The yellow tape n flowers n such has a whole big representation. Yellow is anti-suicide, but in the trilogy its a safety color. The bishops cannot see the color yellow so the Banditos (the gang of people who rebel against the bishops) wear it to symbolize unity n such. The world is called Trench, and the city is Dema. Whats cool is that apparently theres a WHOLE bible about dema that tyler n others wrote. This world is in tylers mind and he could easily destroy it. If you really wanted to go in depth in the story i suggest checking out the wiki or the official website "dmaorg.org" which has tons of cool stuff including diary entries from a unknown-ish character called Clancy. Tyler went so in depth with this story its insane, and he's even been approached about it being a netflix series lmao. I barely explained the surface of it, so I really do suggest researching it because its wicked cool.
this really needs more likes i want him with all of my heart to react to this whole story/plot line
I didn’t know what Netflix reached out to him about it hahaha imagine how cool that would be
God, I'm filled with joy everytime I see you trying to stan something and someone I love.
In a nutshell: The dark red riding hood is actually Blurryface and he leaves a black mark on Tyler's neck that spreads when Tyler follows Blurryface. So when he runs away and the yellow petals fall down, the black on Tyler's neck dissapears. And Blurryface represents Tyler's depression, so the trilogy is basically him fighting it over and over again. Actually the whole album kinda is.
You should've watched Heavydirtysoul for the burning car to make sence, though.
Oh, and btw, how about a Trying to stan: Paramore? :)
YES PARAMORE OMG
I always thought of it as Nico brings out Blurryface, since he makes the marks on the neck that signify him.
@@Lenny-ue8hk Nicolas Bourbaki (Nico) is Blurryface's real name. I really don't know a lot about Dema and all that stuff, but I'm trying to learn more about it in my spare time. It's impressive what Tyler created.
Also, during the hiatus there was this website on which things were postes called dma.org and on there you could read several bktes from someone called Clancy (which is probably Tyler) and he was talking about 'getting smeared' if you were caught trying to escape from dema and I thought that is what happened when Nico touched his neck
@@drugstoreeyeliner9936 Clancy is not Tyler, because there was a letter describing the events of the Jumpsuit video from Clancy's perspective, watching from afar.
Tyler: we are banditos
Bill: you mean the safety jacket, yellow stripe crime scene tape people
the car comes from heavydirtysoul's music video
Just so you know when Tyler was running from Blurryface (red riding hood on the horse) the people on the cliff (the banditos) were throwing the yellow petals because Blurryface and the other 8 bishops cant see yellow (supposedly according to other people) which is why yellow is a sign for hope. Its also why he has yellow flowers in the chest, which i think signifies his failed escapes, and then theres the yellow tape as like a safe guard and ive seen people say that Josh puts the yellow tape over things that are important to him like where it crosses over his heart and where Tylers name is tattooed above his knee
"dude that bops what's going on up there"
had me dead
"yes Mr. Joseph"
lol why was that so funny to me
Ahh when you get into the trench era little more, IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND
"ok guys thats really dope but can we get out of hell prison please!!!" cracks me up every time

“Yes Mr Joseph”
~all of us
I know this is an old trilogy but you should react to Troye Sivan's trilogy it was so good
yessss
YESSS BLUE NEIGHBORHOOD IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL TRILOGY
YES
OMG YES. THAT IS SO EMOTIONAL
We used be called the skeleton clique but now we’re the banditos
How about both
nah bruv we're only banditos when we dress up for concerts and stuff. we've always been and always will be the clique
Last track on the album "leave the city" Shows the ending. But if u watch the live version and pay attention to the background scenes then it'll show how this whole trench thing came about
I HAVE AN EXAM TOMORROW BUT WHO CARES ABOU THAT WHEN I CAN WATCH THE VIDEO YOU JUST UPLOADED
THIS
the mood of all moods
Yes
LMAO I HAVE ONE TOO AND FUCK THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SCIENCE
Same, I'm going to fail mine anyway so fuck it!
You should do the Panic at the Disco trilogy (say amen, this is gospel, emporers new clothes)
Yaaaaaaaassssss
Yupppp
Hell yeah!!!!!
Theres a song Beebo did a collab on, and he takes a key off the singer (can't remember the name)
There's also the Pray For The Wicked trilogy: High Hopes, Hey Look Ma, I Made It and Dying in LA.
The "I am a vulture who feeds on pain," lyric. It just hit me. It makes more sense now. With that lyric understood all of Levitate makes sense too. That pain he feeds on is recycled into something more beneficial, I guess. It becomes an experience that is learned from, or is used for creation (art being an outlet for emotions), or is used to help someone else in times of struggle. This is amazing. I don't think I've had this many revelations in such a short period of time.
He feeds on pain to create things that why writing songs feels like sipping on straight chlorine
“Yes Mr Joseph”
Fun fact: the black on his neck and hands are in reference to blurryface(who can also be interpreted as Nico), who represents his depression and his insecurities. He makes music with his hands and throat. "But you'll have to grab my throat and lift me in the air", and "You'll have to tie me down and then break both my hands". Nico is oppressive, he uses Tyler's insecurities to silence him, but as Tyler said in Lane Boy, he fights his depression with music. Those lines are him saying he will not be silenced, you'd have to kill him first(which, as we know, depression is very capable of doing). Just a few thoughts from my corner!
“Friendship tape” I can’t😂
6:18 "nico and the niners are the bad guys. duh"
I saw what you did there.
do dooo do doo do do doo
when he said “if that’s josh i am going to SCREAM” it absolutely killed me
"Either that or they are in Hell"
I mean... With what the guy in the cloak (Blurryface/Nico) being representative of mental illnesses like anxiety and depression it can verry well be his own mental Hell that hes trapped in (sorry this got really dark also might comment again as i continue watching)
You need to know everything from the start of the band (self titled all the way to Trench) to have the full story. It's one big story
well, i still live under a rock.
edit: quick question, whats your favorite song by them so far?
The fact that you actually got a fairly accurate grasp of the story of Dema with little to no information about it before is so amazing and makes me so happy. In fact watching you analyse makes me think more and more about what I know and dont know about the story and get the gears in my head turning. Keep up the work. And maybe next time you listen to TOP, treat yourself to some less serious songs like TB Saga and Coconut Sharks in The Water
You got a lot right, i’m impressed! The dude in the red coat is Blurryface aka nico and the people in yellow are banditos. The basic storyline is that Tyler is trapped in Dema, the city, which is ruled by nine bishops who all represent different things (depression, anxiety, etc). He doesn’t remember anything but “East is up.” The songs are his journey of escaping, and getting to the banditos, who are the rebellion against the bishops. The leader of the bishops is Nico, which is why the song is titled nico and the niners. The vulture is a messenger, which is why it’s on the album cover. you did really well for not knowing anything!
We really out here with novels
it's really awesome and it makes me so happy to see someone analyse twenty one pilots' music and lyrics and music videos in so much depth and detail, you should keep on doing this becaude you're doing amazing
I honest to god could sit and listen to you react to TøP for days. They’re my favourite band (and how I discovered you), and I live for your analyses.
I believe the red-hooded dude is a personification of Tyler’s alter Ego “Blurryface” who is a representation of his mental illness; the version of himself which struggles with severe depression and anxiety amongst other things. I think in Trench, Blurryface is now referred to by the name “Nico” (in the last song on the album titled “morph” he says the line ‘he goes by Nico; he told me I’m a copy’). Throughout his works we kind of get to witness this continuous battle Tyler has with his inner demons, giving this dark side to himself an identity I think helps him to better separate the two versions of himself and prevent this “Blurryface” or”Nico” character from completely consuming him.
Trench is an especially powerful album though, because it’s the first time he’s fighting this demon with a team behind him. And in turn he’s helping us fight ours. I wish I were able to better articulate how truly beautiful his music and his metaphors are, but I simply don’t have the words.
Their music is so, so, so important. He’s able to be open with us about his history with depression and suicidal tendencies through his music and in turn we are able to heal from him, as well as help to heal him.
Please, please consider reacting to more of their music!! And if you’re not up to making vids, I’d still 100000% recommend checking out more of their stuff for your own personal gain. Anyone who has suffered from depression, anxiety, or any kind of dark point in their life has something to gain from listening to them. Some songs I’d rec:
Truce
Morph
Forest
Goner
Leave This City
Lovely
Migraine
Kitchen Sink
Glowing Eyes
Legend (this is about his grandfather who recently passed ♥️)
I'M YELLING AT HOW AMAZING YOU ARE AT GETTING IT, BUT YOU'RE ALSO MISSING SO MANY SMALL DETAILS AND THATS ALSO WHY I'M SCREAMING DKSNDKNSKD I LOVE YOU
When Tyler was younger he had horrible depression and didnt think he was gonna live past 17 he also didnt think he would ever find love but now he has Jenna and a baby girl on the way
Crime scene tape people
Yeah that's pretty much all of the clique explained
"it's that josh I'm gonna screeEeAM"
me too bro
me too
i want you to listen to “legend” from trench but listen by yourself (or without recording it). if you wanna show that to us you can, but it’s a song tyler wrote about his grandpa that passed away and i think you could really relate to it. i hope you’re drinking water and feeling whatever you need to. once you have the clique, you have us. we’ve got you. love you
Have to watch heavydirtysoul to
2 things:
1. The crashed car is from the final music video of the Blurryface era, "Heavydirtysoul".
2. The entire album Trench is supposedly a concept album - with that in mind, the other songs continue the story, even if there are no more videos (which there might be). It might be interesting to get your thoughts on the whole album, honestly, since it's meant to tell a story.
Hey, that “red juice” you were taking about is depression. They pump you full of depression 🥴😂
OMG IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG I HAVE NEVER CLICKED A VIDEO FASTER
“I didn’t get my BFA in Horticulture...”
"It is him! Ohhhh!" Cute reaction, laughing out loud. We're always happy to see Josh
Okay so, this place where Tyler is in, is a fictional city called Dema that basically represents the dark places of Tyler’s mind. The red demon is Nico that is a part of the album storyline, he stops Tyler from getting out of Dema, almost like a new Blurryface and that’s why he’s red, the color of the previous album. There are ten “red demons”, that’s why is Nico and the Niners.
The people with the yellow tape are the Banditos. Josh is their leader, he helped all of the others escape Dema and they help Tyler too! So when you go to the show just know that the Clique fanbase are Banditos too, we escaped and/or are still trying to escape our dark places.
Please react to the whole Trench album!! 💛💛
6:18 “maybe nico and the niners are the bad guys (duh)”
i didn’t make the connection the first time lmao thanks dude
Your tøp videos make me so happy
Even tho I have been a fan of them for a few years I'm still lost in these things
Its nice to hear your opinion on their music and I can't wait for the next part!
there's literally no clikkie that can completely understand their cryptic stuff
React to HeavyDirtySoul, it’s part of the story. That’s why in Jumpsuit, it starts with the car
Why did I understand this more through your eyes than my OWN?!
I lovveeeee top! My fave song is car radio and the hype and the first song u reacted to.(srry dont attack me i forget random things at the least convenient time for some reason lol)
YOU’RE SO ADORABLE PLEASE
So you can watch their official video for HeavyDirtySoul & that's where the car comes in (it's a kick ass song too). The yellow tape people lol are the Banditos aka Skelton Clique & yes that was Josh.
Also, "hell" is Dema, Nico & The Niners are in charge of it, they are bad. There's a whole story/lore with that. That was the order & unfortunately the last video we got. The people - the resistance, are the Banditos. There's a song off the album Trench called Banditos. And yes, you need to keep in mind this is all threaded together for this album. When they escape Dema, they are in Trench, we are in Trench every day battling our demons. The vulture is a symbol. It's a whole thing with the album and you've got a lot of it right on! You can talk about the deeper things, the mental health issues, because that is what they want!
you reacting to jumpsuit was my exact reaction when i heard it for the first time
The jumpsuit is a metaphor for something that Tyler Joseph believes to keep himself safe, it covers him from danger. Tyler (the singer, referred to as Clancy) and Josh (the drummer) are metaphorically part of the DEMA organization and live in a place with the same name, also called Tower of Silence. 9 bishops control the districts of DEMA, they limit the creativity and freedom of the people there by making them do simple things and live a simple and easy life. This way they can control them. Dead bodies are considered unpure and are put on top of a tower (that's why it's literally tower of silence), where vultures would eat their flesh and only the bones will remain, then they can be buried. Clancy (Tyler) was fine with keeping silent and "speaking simple things", but he eventually figured out that if he wanted to follow his path and dreams, he had to leave DEMA, but one of the nine bishops - Nico (also Blurryface, the one you see in the video), catches up to him. The other people that left DEMA (also wearing yellow, or the good color, while the bishops wear red) are on the cliff helping Tyler overcome his insecurities (the bishops all represent something bad, and Nico, or Blurryface, represenets his insecurities)
Omg I laughed to myself! You just thanked us for our patience as we wait for our favorite artist to pop up on this channel-right as I was wishing you’d do more reactions of my favorite musical group-TOP (Twenty One Pilots)!
I love watching your smart, funny, and emotionally raw reactions! Also fyi, TOP has multiple amazing albums, which have won many awards. So that’ll give you a lot of content lol! That said, I thank you for selecting songs that have ranged from their very early years up to whats more recent. Finally, as a TOP stan, how much do I love you becoming one too. TOP so deserves such recognition and appreciation. Thank you:)
The "Yes Mr. Joseph." at the beginning of Jumpsuit was a whole ass mood... *my immediate response everytime I hear his voice too* 😂🖤
it's a cycle
it starts on heavydirtysoul, then jumpsuit, natn and levitate
It can be used in various concepts, but basically it's about a city called dema whre there isn't real light and nico who represents his bad side and thoughts, and Tyler had to go out of there with the banditos who uses yellow beacause it's the color the bishops can't see
Trench it's about the journey of jurisdiction, the journey of where your bad thoughts had influence in you and how can you use it for good
you watched it in the correct order (we think, there are some theories that nico comes before levitate but idk). also the people with the yellow are called Banditos, they are all the people who are fighting back or rebelling against the red people, aka bishops. the Azkaban is called dema, and yeah, it's pretty much Azkaban except the "prisoners" are kind of brainwashed into believing it's a good place.
if you're interested in the storyline, there's a website called dmaorg that has letters from a character called Clancy, who we don't know much about, but he's one of the people trying to escape dema. he talks about his doubts of escaping and stuff, it's really interesting!!
i was waiting for this!!! yayyyy
After seeing how much he can’t understand because you have to have been a fan from before the hiatus it really makes you appreciate how much they give to to their fans
Yay! Thank you for third part❤️
