- The Tandem-X is definitely in the running for winning the award of 'Best Beginner Model Rocket' (video coming soon). This kit comes with two very different style rockets, and seeing the contrast of both in action really makes this set a lot of fun!

Just bought and built this set and found this channel. You make great content hope you keep it up
Thanks!! Life happens so we've had to take a small hiatus but we've got some fun stuff in the works for this channel
I just found this channel and it is super cool just got my first rocket since about 4-3 year of none it is the Alpha 3 and can't wait to fly it keep up the great work!
Welcome aboard! Glad you found us!! Alpha 3 will be the perfect rocket to dip your toe back in the water
Eyyy, You did decide to do the Tandem! Thanks for emphasizing the first flight engines. When I got started, I would just stick C6s in there and be annoyed when I couldn't find my rockets again. Fortunately I know better now(Love the boxcutter gags. Just need to make the switch to Xacto knives, and you'll never get the blade snagged in the packaging again)
Hahaha as soon as this video was done I got a fresh blade in there. And I've been there.
Honestly, which beginner DOESN'T just cram the biggest engine in there 😂 #SendIt
Awesome channel! The Tandem X is definitely Estes' current best value for money launch set. I recommend it for any beginners or parents who ask where to get started.
Keep it up. Subscribed!
I couldn't agree more. And the versatility between the two rockets it comes with. Getting to experience a smaller vs bigger rocket launching, and a simpler vs more complex build is hands down the best introduction to model rocketry
I can't believe Estes has a rocket named Amazon. I've been ordering from Estes since 1972. It's sad to see them go that low. But I did check on the actual Estes site, and they have no such rocket listed. I strongly suggest ordering directly from Estes, so Amazon done not make anything off of it. And your package will not likely be smashed up. If you are a beginner, I recommend the Alpha III launch set. Less than a year after I started, I tossed the Estes launch pad and controller, and built my own. I made both the pad and controller out of metal, using commercial grade electrical parts.
This quality is so great for a new channel! keep going
Thank you! A lot more coming :)
Another great video! We got our Tandem-X set a few days ago. I had the same problem opening the plastic bags with a crazy dull box cutter! We're waiting for better weather to do some spray painting on the Crossfire ISX, then we'll be ready to launch!
hahaha I love it! Tell me about the build, any tricky parts for y'all??
@@themodelrocket220 Cutting the nozzle away from the nose cone was challenging with an xacto. Take your time and make shallow cuts. I tried to slice through quickly and got an uneven edge to the engine bell. Make sure the spacer rings are far enough apart on the engine mount so they don't block any portion of the the tail fin slots. I followed the measurements in the kit, but it was a close fit when I attached the fins. Probably operator error with the ruler! Those are the only hiccups we had so far. I'll let you know how the painting goes when we get it finished!
I've found that an xacto really shines when it comes to trimming the plastic parts (instead of cutting through them). I'll use a thin saw or something to part-off the piece (rough cut), then you can take the xacto and basically wittle away the jagged edge. Its kinda soothing seeing the little polystyrene slivers curl away from the blade!
How does this set cost the exact same as just the launch pad+controller? There’s no reason to buy the pad separately because this costs the same, and has 2 bonus rockets
Hey just found your channel I love it I started model rockets about 20 years ago been launching on /off since it's good to brush up on
Skills if not been out for couple years so appreciate your uploads , I am going to launch my Alpha Maxi 3 on a D-12-3 later today I'm hoping it goes well as not been out in a while , I will keep watching your uploads and maybe ask some questions along the way.
Welcome aboard! Hope we'll be able to answer any questions, but if not hopefully someone in this growing community will be able to! How did the launch go?? What kind of altitude do you get with that combo?!?
First launch for us was the crossfire with a C motor. I was kind of conscious I was being foolish but did it anyway. Needless to say it went litterally half a mile down range and took us 45 minutes to find :)
hahaha #Sendit
Nice
Thanks!
What glue do u use to build the amazon rocket
what bro? 8 million views and 39 comments? this gotta be the highest views to comment ratio.
Hey what’s up?! Love your videos. Could you please make a video about painting? I’m curious how to paint these rockets and what to use.
Yes we've talked about that!
We've talked about *making that video*, we haven't actually talked about painting in any of our videos yet.
What glue are you soposed to get
Buy the pro series 2 doorknob
i wish if the country where i live had it we only have c and b engines and the hi flier
Bummer!! Where do you live?
@@themodelrocket220 in India
Sorry to hear you don't have more options but the hi flier and B/C engines can still be a lot of fun. Careful not to lose in on those C engines though!!
@@themodelrocket220 yes thx
Can i just go out and launch rockets? what are the laws and regulations?
Yes... and no.... wish I had a simple answer for you. Some states have regulations because of fires, all states have regulations in controlled airspaces and near airports, you also need property owner permission, etc....etc....
This article might help.
