    Possibly my favorite ad, the clean crispness of the Red Cam with the cool well structured dialogue, the unbelievable and amazing editing. And of course the outstanding and flawless acting of David Murray. Simply beautiful

    If they had stopped talking after he said 'we have reached the world from here'. And just let the camera show the terminal. It would have made a far nicer advert. Letting oneself take in the Marvelous achievement that the Irish have accomplished

    Also just realised that Yeats, Friel, Beckett and Wilde can be seen in the glass panels as he says them. Amazing advert! x

    @byronsusan Terminal 2 did not cost the taxpayer a singe euro. DAA is not funded by the state whatsoever, and in fact is a net contributor to the state. Its €600 million investment in Terminal 2 was funded through a combination of commercial revenue, aeronautical charges and borrowings.

    Love this ad but if i had one minor quibble it would be that the Irish giving the world the submarine is a slight overstatement. Other then that, you gotta love it.

    @TransformingDublin you are bending the facts there. DAA is a state owned entity.

  • @DublinAirportDUB
    @DublinAirportDUB  13 лет назад +2

    @chriswickstead Not at all Chris. DAA is owned by the state. But it is not funded by the state. It operates in a commercial fashion and receives no state funding. All of its investments are funded by borrowings and through commercial income and aeronautical charges. DAA is a contributor to the state - paying its shareholder more than €500m in dividends over the past 30 years.

    Can't wait to get my degree and leave this god forsaken country through Terminal 2 in the coming years. Shame, I imagined myself actually beginning a career in Ireland. Oh well, I'll come back sometime, I guess.

    I was part of the trials and it's a nice terminal and all... but what's the point in advertising something that you don't have any choice over whether to use or not? Your plane takes off and lands wherever it's told to.

    Only thing I don't like in this - and it's minor because it has an excellent feel good factor especially in such shit times: he forgot to mention that the pneumatic tyre was invented here also by Dunlop.

    A beautifully shot commercial. However the basic premise of how great Ireland and the Irish are, is particularly bad timing I feel. His Celtic swagger makes me slightly embarrassed now...
