Great job Mrs. Heretic!!!! Watch out David, she may steal your job!!!! 😊
No this is 💯 percent on him. I enjoy being a guest when my schedule permits!!!
The perfect duo 😊 David on instrumental and your wife on Lyrics
@@lequebecois9176 thank you 🙏
The bond between Mr Heretic and Lady is a very sacred thing 🖤
He’s pretty amazing never giving up that blonde gem he’s priceless.
In my humble opinion, this is one of the best performances of any Unplugged 😊 What a way to end a show, legendary.
Thanks to both of you, was entertaining to watch 🙂
You are welcome!
Mrs h gives you a unique perspective… as a lyric fan… she can really help round out the story telling… any time she is available please have her on!!! Love to you both!
Working on it!!!
What a delight seeing twice Mrs Heretic today! We want more her on your chanel, please!
I get on when I can my work keeps me very busy!!!
David, I'm really happy that your channel has grown so much. I've been following you since when you react for first time to Nirvana. Congratulations! Greetings from Chile.
Mrs. Heretic videos are an automatic thumbs up.
Too sweet glad I could join.
Love her take on music that's new to her and that I've heard a zillion times it's nice to see her or Dave experience something for first time...much love guys
Thank you happy holidays!
You know Mrs H had an interesting revelation that the woman killed her husband.
It makes sense now. Police questioned him about the scene finding the victims head without his body and probably accused him of the killing with the motive to be with her. When she arrives he demands the truth out of her (don’t lie to me where did you sleep last night). He finds out she ran and hid in the pines still in shock over what happened.
It’s an interesting take away that threw me off for over 30 years. Thank you. It’s like I had just listened to it myself for the first time.
i always read it as a bit of a call and respond type of lyric. . where he askes the where did you sleep night , and then she responds with the in the pies in the pines. . almost like it could have been a duet
Hell no, i´ve listening to this song over hundreds times and i have never had this sagacity on noticing the real meaning if the husband´s head on the song, your hide is really good on interpreting... Good to hear that..
WOW! Awesome review, best one yet !!!
Almost 30 years to the day. 11/18/93 I was in college and watched this and was blown away. Then when he ate it, all we heard was All Apologies from this show.
look man , you're a passsionate guy , sincere and you actually talk about music , you know your stuff so ....well deserved !!
awesome video. thanks for the content i enjoyed that very much. your both so great together. 😊
Thank you he’s my better half!!!❤
This wasn't just a song on this cold November night, but a direct question to his wife. Whom he knew was cheating on him at the time. He wanted to buy Leadbelly's guitar for $500,000, the one he played his song on sold for 6 MILLION. Kurt, I think you surpassed your favorite performer. Chills forever. Every. Single. Time.
P.S.
Some people think this is a dialogue but it doesn't feel like it to me. It sounds like he's speaking about himself leaving her, and wondering what she's going to do without him. But I'm no gatekeeper. Sorry to crowd, there's just so much to be said about this song
It bears repeating, even though I always say this
Great job Mrs.Heretic 👍!! 😊🩷🤘✌️I really enjoyed your awesome reaction, the cutest couple on RUclips!!
9:17 Dave finds out Kurt's not actually hard to understand, Dave is indeed just not a lyrics guy, too busy counting and trying to find the bass in the mix, etc. Still, getting the lyrics cheat sheet is a really nice gesture.
He’s the best!!!
shes so PRETTY
You are too sweet that made my day!!!
Congrats on the 45K subs, man. Great growth and expansion, that’s definitely success. A lady who will sit with you through rock songs is a blessing. And artists deserve creative control whether companies want to give it or not- because it’s *their* music, they created it, so it ultimately belongs to them.
I’ll sit with him through anything.
I'm with fans who say the woman is confronted by her "lover," because she's addressed in the song as, "My girl." Then I think her lover boy gets angry at the end because she won't say aloud what they already know. And since hubby found out she kills him instead of facing a lifetime of consequences. Her lover might be fine, but for a woman in a town of "hard-working" men in Leadbelly's time? I can imagine her situation would be dire. She decides running away to the pines to die on her own terms is better than letting the town kill her.
this is a leadbelly cover, i remember when i foudn this song in high school it blew me away, and still to this day i love it
I was too young to have listened to Nirvana when they released their stuff .. but the reason I think Nirvana is loved because I remember being a really young teenager and these songs hitting me so hard .. Kurt’s talent and opinions changed me as a person .. I’d watch this Unplugged show every weekend and maybe a couple times during the week .. but this music was my religion ❤
It might be nice to start playing acoustic guitars and be thought of as a singer and a songwriter, rather than a grunge rocker you know? Because then I might be able to take advantage of that when I'm older, and sit down on a chair and play acoustic guitar like Johnny Cash and it won't be a big joke.”
-Kurt Cobain Summer 1993
Well, you did, and we loved it. Sounded like a man planning for the future to me.
Regarding Kurt being hard to understand, if you want to see something funny turn on CC and see how confused it is lol
Had such a great time!!!
You just said she had complete control of the play button. Then you took over and hit play
Great job David and Mrs heretic🤘🤘🤘🤘 I love your reactions especially 90s Nirvana and Tool
Thank you!
My parents didn't "believe" in having cable either. And Nirvana was my favorite band. I relished the moments I got to watch MTV at my friends houses and at times caught a Nirvana video!
I was sheltered!!!❤
I hope you will do more videos together. You're hilarious, charming and inspiring. I think I'll share this with my wife!
Thanks so very kind of you I hope she will like it!!!❤
Actually was also not written by Leadbelly as far as I know, it's more of a folk song that has been passed down for a long time that Leadbelly first made widely popular. Great review! I sometimes get choked up when Kurt takes that breath before the final "night through" at the end of the song.
Cobain also went against the whole "unplugged" aspect by using a distortion pedal with his acoustic on a few songs in this show
❤❤❤
The Leadbelly guitar later sold for I think 6 million at auction if I recall rightly?
The guitar used right there set the record for auction and it was 6 mil not the lead belly
Since Mrs Heretic commented that she couldn't understand Kurt's lyrics in the other song, perhaps a good next song for her to react to would be "Weird Al" Yankovic's song Smells Like Nirvana. When asked by Al for permission to parody his song, Kurt asked "It's not going to be about food, is it?" To which Al replied "It's about how nobody can understand your lyrics."
That’s funny!!!
Also if you really want to see nirvana have fun with corporate telling them what to do, watch their performance on Top of the Pops. All manner of hilarity ensues
more nirvana live please! any song will do, however I am partial to anything from their reading performances, breed, aneurysm, drain you, territorial pissing, on a plain, about a girl, polly, r-me (paris performance), come as you are, in bloom, lake of fire, school (reading version), all apologies (unplugged), radiohead, john frusciante, jimi hendrix, thats it for now..thanks
Mr and Mrs H, if you liked this performance you should check out Man Who Sold The World off the same album. As you say, “It’ll get you there.”
Thanks for the suggestion.
Lol David said Oh Man when she said who’s Kurt cobain so funny
Kurt messed with them with another thing too xD it is UNPLUGGED right? Well he brought an electro-acoustic guitar and added the effect pedal too xD
How much did that jumper sell for.? Was it in the millions?
I so enjoy your views but Mrs H is delightful
Thank you so much!!!❤
Very enjoyable… 👍
This isn't my favorite Nirvana song but it's my favorite Live Nirvana song lol, I think my favorite song is Frances Farmer, it's hard to choose just one 😂
Talking about MTV telling them they “should” play certain songs .. in the Unplugged Kurt asked if the audience had “any requests?” 😂 someone yelled”RAPE ME!!!” And Kurt grinned and said “MTV won’t let us play that” 😂
Hey David Mrs. Heretic should react to Stadium Arcadium by the RHCP.
Maybe a little Ironic Kurt ending unplugged with a song about a woman killing her husband. Eh?
If Smells like teen spirit came out today, would it still be a hit?
Lake of fire,
Mrs. Heretic needs to react to ghost 👻
I never comment on videos but y'all are so wholesome, trans girl (lesbian) from Australia supportring y'all 🖤
Thank you and welcome to the fanbase!!!❤
Morbid song, indeed..perhaps this was Kurt's way of warning people about CL..hope this song didn't give her any ideas..🤔
..the cello..just beautiful.. Must mention the addition of my favorite sounding instrument..
XO
Omg this is a 9.9
Thank you!!!
TFW you should just let your wife do everything.
Hahah😂
This is actually an old folk song that Leadbelly remade and later Nirvana did this cover of. Thats why it feels folksy.
Disappointed that ya didn't even change your faces when he starts yelling
Alter bridge Rise today live wembley with a guitar battle between mark and myles kennedy .
please man i dont have a patrion
Open to interpretation, but The narrator of this story finds out his wife is cheating. The rest is not clear if it was his body never found, or the man she cheated on him with .
Good to know ❤
Guy doesn't understand plain simple lyrics, come on
I'm not a lyrics guy, never have been. Lyrics go right over my head. It's not that I don't care about lyrics, I understand their importance. However I've never been able to grasp them and interpret them. That's why I stick to what I am good at, which is the musicality side of music. Chords, scales, modes, time signatures, key signatures, that's where I excel. I play to my strengths.
Dude..
