can’t wait for the first state to require qurans.
The worst part is when the governor was signing it into law he said it was the original law. Even though the ten commandments were stolen from the Egyptian 42 commandments. This religion is all about plagiarism.
LA taxpayers are now forced to shoulder the cost of defending this absurd bill. That’s what happens when we have 36% voter turn out. Lesson for all U S voters: your vote is precious and can make a difference
Is it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but we had over 100% voter turn out in 2020 so are you sure voting matters when someone prints votes?
@@SaaahdoodLouisiana had a very low turn-out. That's how their extremist Governor was elected.
@@SaaahdoodHahahahaha, OMG that is the most absurd claim I have ever heard in my life. Over 100% voter turnout? Sorry fool, that is laughable. We have never, at any point in all of our history, ever come close to 100% voter turnout. Ever. Not even once. That’s not a thing that happens, ever. At best you would only ever find something like this in a single precinct, and even then, it will be exceedingly rare and pretty much only happen in a very small precinct because anyone who cheats in an election knows you can’t have this happen.

Honestly, this is what you get when you are allowed to blatantly gerrymander districts and fewer and fewer elected offices are actually competitive. You get a race to the extremes and not the middle where most people are. That having religious text posted in publicly-funded places is an idea that improves your popularity...instead of demonstrate your incompetence and ignorance to Constitutional precedents...says everything about America today.

It's not unconstitutional. Go read the constitution.
@@littlemouse5268 It's literally respecting the establishment of religion in a government-funded entity. You can't get more unconstitutional than that.

As the Constitution and establishment clause clearly state there shall be no law passed to benefiting any particular religion. Now even though it states Congress that also covers legislature as well.
And according to a 1980 Supreme Court ruling there shall be no establishment of religion in public schools.

Whoever wrote the teleprompter for this piece needs to rethink their wording ASAP. I had to replay this video four times and I STILL don’t get what is trying to be conveyed. What do you mean “Rabbis, pastors, and Reverends are all going AGAINST this bill because it infringes their child’s first amendment”? Wouldn’t that group of people be in AGREEMENT with having the Ten Commandments set up in schools? Please, be more clear next time.
The Christian POV forced onto the public school classrooms is one sided and unconstitutional because it denies separation of church and state. Louisiana will lose in court.
.
No, because they understand that it’s against the Constitution and that it infringes on the First Amendment rights of the students and staff. You cannot be a religious leader and fall for the lie that forcing religion on people is ever going to make them better.
But let’s go one further. It not only violates the First Amendment, but it also violates the Ten Commandments - specifically “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord your God in vain,” and “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” When God sees fit to give everyone free will and freedom of conscience, and politicians deem themselves above God to take that freedom away from someone else, they are violating both of those Commandments. Actual religious leaders understand and recognize this, and so of course they’re going to be against it. All it does is lead people astray - the opposite of what they’re committed to doing.
@@babybirdhome If the religious leaders are actively voting against this, then who exactly is voting for it? Atheists?
They were perfectly clear. You just don’t like what they said.
@@mattleathen445 I knew someone was going to say this. Lol I really don't care either way it goes. I am specifically and solely talking about the insufficient explanation given by the writer of this piece.
I just don't think it is necessary or even wise to post a modern-day tablet in every classroom to be taught by someone who may not know any more than the child does or agree with how the parent(s) view how it should be taught. Sunday school or the youth meetings during the week are the best place for this. The children need to focus on their regular schoolwork while at regular school. Louisiana and other Deep South states have the worst record for educating their people on the things they need to know to complete an application. Believe it or not, there are people who still sign with an x and need someone to read documents to them and not because of their eyesight.
Certainly no one is teaching them to violate any of the Commandments by not having them read the tablet or praying a Baptist prayer vs a Catholic vs Jewish prayer every day.
The only way the GOP can stay in power is with an uneducated base. That's why they are all for indoctrinating kids with religion. Religion conditions children to believing in something with no evidence, just because authority told you to do so. The internet is just as dangerous of a thing to a religious or uneducated society.
I think religion would get in the way of curriculum. A great example would be if a christian and a catholic fought in the middle of class. Kids shouldn't be questioning their faith in schools and they definitely shouldn't be questioning their sexuality.
This news video however kinda sucks because it's showing different pictures and being ambiguous. One of them is a billboard which has nothing to do with schools and only has to do with the person paying for the rental which i agree would fall under the 1st amendment.
This is insane not only for obvious reasons of guaranteed separation of church and state in the U.S. but bc the lawmakers themselves don’t even follow the 10 commandments.
Seperation of church and state... Decades ago Loisiana had a bs moment of silence as a way to have prayer in school. If kids found out you wasnt praying you found out real quick what moment of silence was really about....

You should be leery of attacking the very same document that allows you your religious freedom in this country. If you only knew how important that document is to the survival of your faith in this country, you would be adamant about protecting it as it stands. In no way shape or form does it hinder your practice of religion by keeping the publicly funded schools neutral and fully understand the separation of Church and State and why its important. You also need to understand that in the USA we have Justice and Liberty for all. And by forcing your faith into public schools, you are taking away the Liberty of US citizens. I dont understand how you can not see this?
Lets put it this way, Lets say your State just passed a law that all schools need to post The 5 Pillars of Islam in all classrooms but the 10 Commandments were still prohibited? Would you feel that your constitutional rights would be violated? How would it make you feel if the 7 Tenants of Satanism were allowed in all the classrooms but the 10 Commandments were not? You would be pretty upset. So how about you show some empathy here? No one is attacking your religion. Just because I protest religious doctrine in public schools does not mean I'm against Christianity. I adamantly support our constitution, and your constitutional rights to practice your faith freely. But the second you start trying to take away my constitutional rights, were going to have a problem. You really need to rethink how glad you are this is happening. Because if if this were to pass through the US supreme court, then watch out because everything else is coming to, The 5 Pillars, The 7 Tenants, Scientolgy, Tao, and every other interest group that wants to claim a new religion. It will literally open up the doors for these illusive cat boxes you folks like to bring up lol Be ready because if you want the 10 Commandments? Ok fine, but your also getting cat boxes.
