Well, I would do that, but I'm already so pale that I can't even find a shade that matches.

Results may vary. I actually can’t go with a concealer lighter than my under eye even by one shade, because I have a very red T-zone and I still get a raccoon mask. The only thing that has worked for me is to go with a concealer that’s the very same shade as my foundation, or the same but without any pink tone. My under eye circles pretty much disappear after I set it.

I think the dont side eyeliner is perfectly fine. it's just more dramatic. if you did it without the other donts it would look good. there are many ways of doing your eyeliner

I think she is saying that is not the most flattering for eyes, especially when it comes to an everyday or every occasion look. When people do winged eyeliner, it's usually to pronounce and elongate their natural eyeshape, inwhich the Don't side doesn't exactly do that.

tbh i get really cheap sponges at the grocery store, and i use them for ages, well past when they are totally saturated with foundation, so it doesnt suck it all in.
Try applying with a foundation brush and then blending out for a flawless finish with a beauty blender x
One of the struggles of having tan skin is that light brown eyeshadow doesn't show up on your face
or finding a contour palette which isn’t the tone of your skin...
A bit of a deeper brown that has a shimmer added to it looks beautiful on tan skin. Good luck!

Christen and I have pretty similar skin tones as well and I use NC 37 or NC 40 in studio fix. Hope this helped!

thank you so much for doing this video i am a hairstylist and went back to school with another girl i worked with to become a makeup artist. when i do my makeup and makeup on other people it looks like your DO side but her and her clients LOVE everything on your DON'T side and she has told me on multiple occasions i obviously dont know how to do good makeup. so thank you again so much so i know im doing what i should for me and my clients and she needs so work!

I feel like the whole "don't" side was more for everyday wear, rather than in general for everything. If you're doing uber dramatic makeup, for whatever reason, rather than a natural (ish) makeup look that looks like you have minimal barely there makeup, then this doesn't really apply to you, yknow?

I love seeing videos like this! I'll admit I've always kept my makeup extremely basic but I love learning new tricks and trying it out when I have nothing to do.
I love this so much! Not only because the make-up is beautiful, but also because Christen is so positive! She gives great advice for everyone from girls just starting out to people like me who have been doing this forever, but need some help and new ideas. Also I think it's great that she uses expensive stuff and drugstore stuff and she's just a good role model in the world of makeup. That's important because makeup doesn't define who we are and we can wear alot or a little or none and still be great! So thanks a bunch for these great tutorials!
I like the left eye makeup (Amy Winehouse). The right I'd say is definitely is more natural, something to wear every day but right would be a "clubbing" make up for me

I don't think so; dramatic looks can still look good, but her's "don't" side was tacky and badly done.
To be fair her eyeliner and lashes could work in a dramatic look, a lot of people have said so, so I wouldn't say the don't side was badly done when there are things on there that could work with a different base and eyebrow.

Thanks a lot! Whenever I "tried" to do make up tutorials I was never able to achieve the same look but this helps to actually understand what and how you have to do it!
I actually do the concealer triangle little lower than starting right from my eye, and blend the concealer upwards so the concealer gets there but it’s not heavy so it won’t crease :)
I'm glad this was realistic because I've seen ones that over-exaggerate for comedy purposes and it really just puts me off lol
when I do my makeup in the wrong lighting it looks like the don't side...

This looks so asymmetrical, it's tripping me out! Not just that the makeup is different on both sides, but the way you apply makeup is like altering your structure. Like one eye looks higher and it looks like your nose is going to one side and without makeup, you look pretty symmetrical to me. It's so crazy and awesome that makeup can do so much, this video is really cool!
