    Maaaaaan! You absolutely saved my 2015 15" MacBook Pro! Thank you so much! I had the EXACT same issue you had (Boot Loop) and your video saved me hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars. I used the link you shared to order my replacement battery (same model as your MacBook Pro in the video). Once I received it in the mail, I felt prepared to do the work having watched your video. It really helped me a lot and saved me a lot of frustration because I knew what was coming! After it was all said and done, my old MacBook Pro booted up and all was right with the world. I can't thank you enough. Your labor is not in vain! Keep up the good work. Blessings!

      That’s so awesome, super excited that it worked for you! I can’t believe that Apple told me the motherboard was shot when all it needed was a new battery. I even pushed them suggesting that it was the battery and they said, nope it’s the motherboard. I’m still using my 2015 MacBook Pro, works just as good as ever. 😁👍 cheers to many more years of use on your 2015 MacBook Pro! 👍👍👍

    OWC is the way to go. I've used them for battery & hard drive for a mid-2010 MacBook Pro. The instructions they send are spot on just like you noticed. I had to retire that computer after 12 years because the OS no longer was being supported or updated, plus it was moving very slow. I'm on a loaded-up 2019 16" MacBook Pro now,. Good to see you were able to fix your Mac. If you decide to get rid of it, at least it powers on which makes it worth more on trade-in or if you sell it outright.

    Hi! My Macbook Pro 2019 is not starting. It was working fine last time I used. I tried several ways to turn it on, but no luck. Will changing the battery work? Apple says the logic board needs to be replaced. Thanks!

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  Год назад

      Not sure if replacing the battery will work for you but they told me it was a bad logic board too which wasn’t true. I figured I’d give it a try for 85 bucks, and installed a new battery myself. It worked, and I’m still using the same laptop today. Realistically, I think Apple just wants you to buy a new laptop, but it may very well be fixable.

    • @swaha55

      @@JasonYadlovski I was thinking the 1080 might be okay since I would have one good screen for the video editing and use the second monitor for the resolve tools and rousers and email.
      Does that make sense or am I missing something with that logic?

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  3 года назад +1

      With a 1080 monitor, everything on there might look a little big but with a higher resolution monitor you can make everything smaller and fit more on the screen. Just something to think about. And just FYI with DaVinci Resolve you can’t pull out the toolbars.

    • @swaha55
      @swaha55 3 года назад +2

      @@JasonYadlovski Really - you mean they have to stay on the same monitor as the main timeline?
      Can you put the tool bars on other monitors in other programs?
      I am trying to figure out the best least expensive solution to some more screen space.

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  3 года назад +2

      In most of the programs you can take the toolbars and move them wherever you want. However in DaVinci Resolve you cannot move any of the toolbars off the screen. That’s why I decided to go with one large screen versus multiple screens. The wide screen that I got is perfect for video editing because it lets the timeline be long on the screen with plenty of room for tool bars, etc. and there’s also enough screen real estate to be able to make resolve a little bit smaller and have other programs open next to it.

      @JasonYadlovski  2 года назад +1

      Yes, that’s exactly what mine was doing. It was stuck in a boot loop as soon as I plugged it in. I took it to Apple, they said the computer was shot but I had done some research online and saw that a bad battery would cause this exact problem.
      So I took a chance for $80 and bought a battery from other world computing, installed it and the laptop fired right up and Its been running fine ever since.
      I would say, if you’re comfortable taking apart your computer, pick up the battery from OWC and give it a try. Of course I cannot guarantee it’s gonna work for you but if you’re like me, I figured I have a paperweight anyway so what do I have to lose. Just 80 bucks. 😜

    I just replaced the battery from my macbook pro mid 2015 because it had been in "service battery" state for couple of years and after replacement it started all good but it still said "service battery". So I decided I will do the battery calibration, The battery was around 80% full or something so I let it charge to full and stay there bit over 2 hours. Then I let the battery dry out so that the computer shut down, went for few days holidays and now that I came back I tried to charge it to full but the charge indicator never turned green (I let it charge maybe 6hours). So now that I'm trying to turn on the computer the battery icon just shows "X" on it (No battery installed?) And I can't get to my desktop, each time the login progress bar hits around 50% it just shuts down. Any Ideas? I've tried PRAM reset and nothing :(

    The reason Apple didn’t suggest replacing the battery is because their genius bar is sad fact of the matter, not there to actually fix out of warranty product, but to convince you that you need a new one. It’s part of what makes Apple’s boasts about sustainability a joke since they chomp at the bit to get people to replace, rather than repair and reuse. As I am camera shy, you will not need the visuals and I will not need the completed file as you will show me and others how it is done. 1/. Remove noise. 2/. Apply a compressor. 3/. He will gladly fix your Mac, however, as he is not an 'authorized' Apple repairer your Mac will loose its warranty. His latest YT clip is called, "Rant; discrediting Steve Wozniak to justify a throwaway society." Personally, I see my upgrade path with my $937 'Games PC' from Bunnings is simple. Replace the i3 with an i9. Get a kickass GPU. Using UNIX, install a bank of Apple M1's as the render-farm for my Davinci projects. I'm so completely over Apple products. The last two Macbook Pro's and an top spec 2013 iMac all died within 6 months of the 3 year Apple Care plan ending. All for basically the same reason, they overheat, and the graphics chip or the logic board or the solder holding them together fries. $1500 - $2000 quote from Apple to fix them because of their own overheating issues. Their stuff looks pretty, and it works for a while, but it's disposable. So after 7 years of using Apple I switched back to PC and no more problems. Personally anyone doing full time video work should just stop buying Apple's products. Unless you're doing audio work, in which case I've been told PC is not an option.... /rant
