The song is about the Edo culture. Our kings are called oba. So he referres to himself as obapluto( a king). The songs is basically him saying poverty will never locate him, acknowledging himself as an oba(king) even though he is not actually one and making shout out to some of the traditional rulers(oba’s) in the past.
Obapluto is a very deep bini music. The original was a tribute to the Oba of Bini that was sent to exile by the British Empire after the 1897 invasion of the Bini kingdom. Do a some research about it, it's very interesting. The older man in the video is the original singer of the song.
