I understand the fear I hold feels similar to the fear I had as a child. What do I do different now? I meditate, I speak of my fear and concerns (I never had anyone as a child after mom died), I journal. I workout, walk, focus on my breathing. I acknowledge my wins, and positives. I speak out loud what I want to achieve. I criticize myself and others less. When I catch myself doing so, I back down and question why. It has been less heavy and eventhough I live alone, I don't feel alone. My body doesn't shake from anxiety and fear. I use to reach anger quick from small things such as a disagreement with a store clerk. I just don't see the purpose of engaging in these matters any more. I noticed I was trying to control everything. I now know I can only can control my reactions, my feelings and thoughts. Thank you for your guidance.

David and Alex - a reflection I had as to why the IC resists the idea that it creates its emotions - at least for my IC I am asking my IC to take self responsibility for itself - responsibility for its own emotions- my IC doesn’t know how to handle that responsibility
Hi @suzanneayer4177, Thank you for this insightful reflection. You're absolutely right-one of the biggest challenges for the Inner Child is accepting responsibility for its own emotions. The Inner Child often resists this because it was conditioned to believe that emotions are reactions to external events, not something within its control. Taking responsibility feels overwhelming because it represents a shift from feeling powerless to realizing it has agency, which can be unfamiliar and intimidating. To support your Inner Child in handling this responsibility, gently guide it with reassurance. Emphasise that accepting responsibility doesn’t mean blame; instead, it’s about empowering the Inner Child to understand that while it may not control events, it can choose its response. Teach your Inner Child step by step, through patience and nurturing, that self-responsibility is a path to freedom and inner peace. This gradual process builds trust and helps the Inner Child see responsibility as an opportunity to reconnect with the balanced Shen spirit within. Kind Regards, David

Hi. Thank you for this teaching. If I exhale ( blow out... Nirvana ) and wait... what must happen next? In this way, I belong to life. My will is supported by the nature of the returning breath, the nature of receiving life. This awareness reveals my gratitude at the very root of flow.
Hi @TimCCambridge, Thank you for your beautiful reflection. Your insight captures the essence of mindful breathing and deep acceptance. After exhaling and waiting, what comes next is the natural return of the breath-a gentle reminder that life supports you without effort. This pause between breaths symbolizes surrendering to the present, allowing life to guide you with trust. In this way, as you observe the inhale returning effortlessly, you become aware that you are part of the greater rhythm of existence. This simple act connects you to the Tao, where gratitude flows naturally as you receive life with openness and appreciation. Your practice embodies true alignment with the Wu Wei principle: moving with life, not against it. Kind Regards, David P.S. Exciting News! Another top video 👏 Would love to hear your thoughts one day on something like 'muscle armouring' and how this fits in with the Wu Wei Wisdom model. I know that you have said you dont believe in the notion of 'stuck' emotions, stating that we are creating new emotions each time... with that said, it would be cool to hear your thoughts on it at some point in the future. Maybe too complex to adequately cover in the comments section and better to cover in a video. Just my thoughts. Take care.
Hi, thank you for your thoughtful comment and for supporting the channel! You’re right-“muscle armoring” and the concept of stored tension in the body is a fascinating topic and one that aligns with the Wu Wei Wisdom approach in a unique way. Although we emphasise that emotions aren’t actually “stuck,” we do recognise that unresolved beliefs, particularly those formed in childhood, can lead to physical tension or “armor” as a protective response in the body. Our approach would encourage awareness and gentle release of these protective layers by identifying and transforming the underlying beliefs or judgments fueling the tension. This process helps to dissolve both physical and mental patterns by shifting the root cause. It’s indeed a topic that would benefit from a more detailed exploration-perhaps a future video! Thank you for your suggestion, and if you’d like to keep up with new insights, I invite you to join our free Wu Wei Wisdom community: facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity/. P.S. Exciting News! Hi David and Alex! I love your teachings they are extremely useful to me. I am learning to re-parent my inner child and it already helped me a lot (as I commented in other video, I got to point of „there is something wrong with me” vow after two years of listening your videos). I have a question about things that happened before the age 6 where there was no cognitive perception of what is happening like some events from ages 0-4. What is the daoist take on that? Is it just the same work and the same principles? Thank you for your work 🙏
Hi @Mistrzdan, Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and for sharing your progress-it’s inspiring to hear about your journey! Reaching that profound realization with your Inner Child is a significant step forward, and I'm glad the teachings have been so supportive. In Taoist philosophy and Wu Wei Wisdom, events from before the age of 6, even those occurring during the preverbal years (ages 0-4), are indeed approached with the same principles. Although there may not have been cognitive understanding during those early experiences, the energetic memorymay still remain. These experiences can manifest in your Shen spirit as deeply held beliefs and reactions. The key is to re-parent your Inner Child through nurturing, accepting presence and gentle, consistent communication. When working with preverbal experiences, visualisation, soft reassurance, and creating a safe mental space are powerful tools. Imagine holding and comforting your younger self as you would an infant, reassuring them with the understanding and safety they might not have felt at the time. This type of practice helps to bring a sense of resolution and peace to those early memories, even if they aren’t fully formed thoughts. It reinforces trust and stability, which supports your ongoing growth. Feel free to join our community to share experiences and insights: facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity/. P.S. Hello David and Alex,Thank you for your wise teachings. How can l love anything or anyone when l am so fearful from previous losses in my life,my first loss was my first serious boyfriend who passed within 24 hours from meningitis? I was 18 ,he was 19 years old.
Hi @SueHorgan-dn8ty, Thank you for opening up and sharing your experience with such honesty. Facing profound loss, especially at a young age, can leave deep imprints that may manifest as fear in later relationships. It's essential to acknowledge that this fear is a natural protective response created by your Inner Child to guard against future pain. To move forward, begin by cultivating acceptance for that younger version of yourself who experienced such sudden loss. Embrace your Shen spirit to guide your Inner Child, reassuring them that while loss is part of life, it doesn’t have to define or limit the love you can give or receive now. Gradually, practicing this acceptance and reconnecting with life in the present moment will help transform fear into trust and openness. Remember, true love is not just about vulnerability but also the courage to trust again despite past pain. Kind Regards, David P.S. Exciting News! Hi @kristinmeyer489, Thank you for sharing such an important and heartfelt question. When trust is shaken by lies, even those of omission, it can be challenging to rediscover a sense of safety. In Wu Wei Wisdom and Taoist teachings, the journey to safety begins within. It’s about connecting with your Shen spirit and nurturing an inner foundation that isn’t reliant on external validation. Start by practicing radical honesty with yourself. Acknowledge your experiences without judgment and recognize that while others’ actions may be beyond your control, how you respond and the beliefs you hold are yours to shape. This self-reliance builds inner trust. Visualize your Inner Child, offering reassurance and creating a safe, accepting space within you. Additionally, strengthen your discernment by listening to your inner voice. This connection helps you navigate relationships with clarity and recognize when boundaries are needed. You are always welcome to join our supportive community, where sharing and learning with others on a similar journey can be helpful: facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity/. P.S. Exciting News! Hi @khansherani, Thank you for sharing this. In cases where the Inner Child is preverbal, focusing on deep acceptance and presence is key. This means connecting through gentle practices like mindful breathing, visualization, and compassionate self-talk that align with your Shen spirit. Spend moments in quiet reflection, holding the intention of safety and support for this part of yourself. Your Inner Child will gradually sense trust through these consistent, loving practices. Consider creating a safe space in your mind where your infant Inner Child can exist without judgment-just a sense of being seen and valued. Over time, this practice helps resolve issues tied to past experiences, allowing greater peace. You may find joining others on a similar path beneficial: facebook.com/groups/wuweiwisdomcommunity/. Hi @christurner4050, Thank you for sharing so openly. Recognizing that your Inner Child has been influencing your life is a powerful first step toward meaningful change. One effective approach is to engage with your Inner Child through compassionate dialogue. Begin by acknowledging that this part of you was created as a response to past experiences and beliefs. Try to connect with your Shen spirit-the authentic, balanced part of yourself-and guide your Inner Child with understanding, setting healthy boundaries where needed. Daily practices like mindful meditation, journaling your thoughts, and observing your responses without judgment can deepen this connection. Remember, it's about acceptance and re-aligning your actions with your true nature. Kind Regards, David P.S. Exciting News! David and Alex - a reflection I had as to why the IC resists the idea that it creates its emotions - at least for my IC I am asking my IC to take self responsibility for itself - responsibility for its own emotions- my IC doesn’t know how to handle that responsibility
Hi @suzanneayer4177,
Thank you for this insightful reflection.

Hi @TimCCambridge,
Thank you for your beautiful reflection.
Kind Regards, David

Another top video 👏
Would love to hear your thoughts one day on something like 'muscle armouring' and how this fits in with the Wu Wei Wisdom model.

Thank you for your work 🙏
Hi @Mistrzdan,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and for sharing your progress-it’s inspiring to hear about your journey!

Hello David and Alex,Thank you for your wise teachings. How can l love anything or anyone when l am so fearful from previous losses in my life,my first loss was my first serious boyfriend who passed within 24 hours from meningitis? I was 18 ,he was 19 years old.
Hi @SueHorgan-dn8ty,
Thank you for opening up and sharing your experience with such honesty.
Kind Regards, David

When everyone lies to you, even if they tell themselves lies of omission "aren't" lies, HOW to EVER feel safe again?
Hi @kristinmeyer489,
Thank you for sharing such an important and heartfelt question.

My inner child is an infant, he has no question only feeling, sadness and fear, a preverbal trauma...what to do in that case???
Hi @khansherani,
Thank you for sharing this.

I am 54 years old male, and my spoil rotten inner child has been running my life. Any thoughts on ways to change?
Hi @christurner4050,
Thank you for sharing so openly.
Kind Regards, David
