    I made a fan dipole for 40, 30, 20, and 10. Of course 15 is there also.
    My spacing is 3 in. I drilled the holes in the spacers just big enough
    that the wires fit snug and added zip ties. I completed my 20 meter
    WAS Award with it and 2 more left on 30 meters.
    I like your method of teaching. Bite size information that leads into
    the next lesson and easy to understand. especially newer Hams. KF6EWO

      Thanks for sharing! I have a plan for the next one, to make these into verticals. Just need time to record it haha.

    You might be surprised how well it will work without the spacers. Just use a light weight rope on each element and space the end attachment points slightly apart on the support ends. Spacing is not critical and tuning is just like you described, starting at 40 and working your way up freq. Makes a great portable or semi permanent multi band antenna and is much more stealthy. Thanks for a great video. 73, N9XDS.

      I might have to try that next time or make a portable version. Thanks for the idea

    For keeping the wires from sliding in and out of the spacers, you could drill holes straight through the PVC and use zip ties on either side. That would look better than the tape. But still an awesome antenna build.

      Yeah for sure it'd look better haha. I might try that next time. I'm sure there is atleast 100 better ways to do it. I kind of enjoy slapping stuff together.

      @@kj7iaz I'm actually going to be building a fan dipole for the exact same frequencies here soon... probably this weekend.

      Cool. Use full length spacers. Watch the trap dipole video, i start with the mess the wind made on the fan. I like the fan but it can be temperamental in the wind. Better , longer spacers should help, but watch it as to get an idea, should help you avoid the same issue.

    Moral of the story - always cut oversize so you can trim back.

    Whst. A Great Antenna.
    I Have Made ALL BAND ALL FREQUENCY ANTENNA, works for Recsption and works good for Me.
    Its a Long Wire Dipole = its a super strange antenna, But i made it by my math and my ideas and it works... need to make a video on it.
    But super cool video, Want to make Your Antenna Now

    I was just sitting here thinking about antennas... as I often do lol and a thought came to me. I don't really have room for a 40 meter dipole. I was wondering what the effect would be of.....
    ...a fan dipole for 20, 10, and 6 meters... WITH a top vertical ham stick tuned for 40m.
    I wonder if that would work. Would the needed ground radials be supplied by the dipoles of the other bands? I wonder.

    • @kj7iaz
      @kj7iaz  11 месяцев назад +1

      I'd recommend a trapped dipole. Or a fan and load the 40m element. Or do 2 hamsticks in a vertical dipole configuration with the elements of the fan coming off the bracket and the vertical element somehow.

      @kj7iaz I like that idea of 2 ham sticks in a vertical dipole configuration better. That way, it would still be a half wave dipole. Just vertical. And then the other bands coming off the center feed in a horizontal dipole. A feed point for all would be easy enough to design.

    • @davidhodgson977
      @davidhodgson977 11 месяцев назад +1

      @kj7iaz I have made one, a two bander 20 and 15 metres. I had it tuned and in the air in one hour, the dipole for 20 was already cut.
      I will add some more bands when I get some more wire.
      Maybe 6 metres.
