    I've had drop foot in my right ankle since 1997. So the whole right side of my body is tight. I've been to a chiropractor and he says with a little twisting and bending of the spine we can get correct blood flow to the nerves and correct it. I'm looking forward to the journey. Love the all natural remedies.

    he knows what he is talking about, my peck minor is locked tight and I was saying to myself that it doesn't feel like a muscle right at the same time he says it won't feel like a muscle. I'm still trying to get some release though.

    Wow that's so sore, ouch! I didn't realize how tender it was until I was rubbing my shoulder, followed collar bone, went straight downward toward my pit and bam! Iced it, pain patched it and nada. I hope a found the right pressure point.

      Hello guys. I just realized that i only have shoulders and pec minor xD While trying to do pull ups after a long time, my pec minor is sore like crazy... But I literally have a crazy thick pec minor muscles that probably substitute everything else. Do you guys know any specific back exercices that won't hit this muscle? It's really annoying me, even when i do biceps curls it seems to hit my pec minor

    When stretching the chest muscles should you avoid performing strength exercises with them?

  • @theiriscen
    @theiriscen 5 лет назад

    You can release the pec minor all you want, its not gonna help unless you strengthen its antagonist.
    We over use the pec minor everyday doing simple things as typing on our phones with the thumb that any 10 min release technique cannot offset the overuse.
    Just strengthen its antagonist. That’ll help apply opposition force to the minor.
    Plus release techniques only work if there’s simultaneously lengthening of the massaged muscle, unlike what’s shown in this video.

    • @theiriscen
      @theiriscen 4 года назад

      Lauren Liv yes, strengthening always helps, especially if you strengthen the right muscle. But in your case i cant say if this is what you need specifically. There are many factors to take into consideration. Your problem may not be muscular but rather ligament or bone issue. I suggest to get yourself checked up by a physiotherapist if you can. Cuz sometimes, sitting for so long can change our bone angle (especially the rib cage tilt) giving us a rounded back. So yeah, ligaments are usually the culprit, which then pull on muscles and bones, meaning in this case, strengthening (or restoring) your ligaments could work better.

    Good video I never knew you could just shift the pec major out of the way. PS if any of you have a mac download Complete Anatomy 2020 3D4 Medical from the App Store, it has a 3-day trial and it has enlightened me on what is going on in and around the pec minor. It's a complex compartment of bones and nerves and arteries.

      Jeff Unrau your hitting a nerve that runs through that same area, the nerves are extremely thin so you can get around them and continue. You do not want tingling or numbing at all.

    I hope you still read the comments under your older videos. I really like this guide but I have a question. I have internally rotated shoulders do I decided to do self myofascial release sessions with a small lacrosse ball. I mamage to find the trigger points so it is really painful but my problem is that after the release nothing really changes but I have really sore muscles for about 2 days (just like after hard training). Should I continue doing it even if it id still sore to keep up with the consistency? Or should I wait a few days. I’m just afraid that if I wait a few days hardly anything changes because I’m not doing it consistently. Thanks for your answer.

    Should this really be extremely painful? Does that mean I'm probably doing it right? I am using a theracane. Brief history: I've worked at a desk/computer for years. Had breast reduction surgery 3 years ago. Posture postop seemed better but still working at a desk I believe has caused a recurrence of presumed upper cross syndrome (self-diagnosed by watching your description and comparing to my symptoms).. Watched your video about that and got here for more indepth pec work.

      +GuerrillaZen Fitness Could you comment on--When I sleep on my back I sometimes awaken short of breath with a lower back ache and if I take a deep breath an electrical impulse/spasm over takes the body from the chest down to the legs then is over. No cramp happens but it sure feels like it will cause the muscles stiffen as if a total body cramp will happen. Very unsettling feeling. Please advice!

      @claesholm9080 8 лет назад +1

      It could, but you shoud not stop doing them, just make sure to stretch and give these excersises a try. Also make sure to hit the posterior muscles, rear dealts and lower traps etc. That will keep you from injuring yourself and is going to be a better longterm solution for you to be able to workout those muscles without tighness and pain.

    Great video. I've gotten to the pec minor by pressing through the pec major before and that was tender. Just tried getting at the pec minor directly as you show in the video, and it was incredibly tender!
    When muscles are this tight, I suppose it's not realistic to expect a couple of minutes of massaging it with a theracane to restore normal tone? Do you typically treat this sort of stiffness daily until the muscle is healthy (not abnormally tender to the touch)?

    • @GuerrillazenFitness
      @GuerrillazenFitness  9 лет назад

      +joecomm1 No, it will take some time. Approach is frequently and slowly and you will start to see results.
