echoztrip - we just did what the video said, which was tap the fan on its side and blow into it to free it. I was very sceptical about that as I don’t know why it worked. But it did. No new motor was needed.
@@Cralis1 thanks mate. We've had our gen1 since 2017 but now all of a sudden there is no vacuum sound and it drives around doing nothing :)
echoztrip - Oh. That’s a different symptom to what we had. We have “error 18 - fan multination” and the robot would just stop. Yours seems like a different thing. This might work. But it seems different.

A bit of a random fix-it video but it worked a treat! Shows only the screws you need to remove and no more. Just have a system to keep track where the different sizes go and it's a quick and easy fix. I just took the fan out and gave it a few taps and a good clean with another vacuum and it was fine again.

Thank you, this helped me figure out disassembly of the unit so I could check it. I realised there was a small filter on the outside of the fan also, accessible when you remove the fixed cover (not the bumper cover). This little filter was absolutely clogged with dust and hair and although the fan was OK, there was not sufficient airflow and so not enough suction.
You mean the sponge filter of the fan motor. I think it's useful part, too.
@@rovatv yes, on the output side of the fan. Cleaning it made a HUGE difference. It is working like a new vacuum again!

I came for the repair tutorial, stayed for the wonderful story.
Took quite a few taps on the bench, but this has done the trick and is now working again, that being said it makes a terrible noise as if something is stuck in the fan if I do up the screws to roughly the same tension they were when I took them out, but no noise if i just hold the fan in my hands, maybe is on its way out, either way, thanks for the vid, saved me a bunch of cash.

Thank you. This worked great for me. One mistake I did make was use the long screws in the wrong holes made the screw come out the other side of the plastic but I was able take them out and out them in the right place and everything worked fine. Thanks again
Yes, Mijia Mi has lots of screws and is different so it's confused to assemble it. But you succeeded it. Good!! lol
Thanks a lot! Need to say that in my case there were no neccesity to dissassemble all the vacuum cleaner. It was enough just to take off the rear cover and move the fan by finger. This tutorial is for more complicated cases with replacing the fan. Thanks again

This is a great repair video! Thank you so much! For me, the problem was that the black mesh at the fan exhaust was clogegd up with debris. The fan itself was clean. From now on, I will make sure to clean the dust bin compartment properly!

these 2 screws were probably under the battery. (from my personal experience)

Testing the power didn't work for me. Every time I pushed the button, a different error came in: wheels are hanging, robot stuck, sensors dirty, put vacuum on flat surface etc. I think he didn't like that the tower was disconnected :P
Anyway - You've helped me a lot. Simple instructions, numbered bolts, graphical indications instead of "take this cover out and remove all offending screws" :P

It's different error. Maybe bumper sensor is wrong.
2017년에 구입해서 만 7년동안 배터리 셀프 교체(2024년)한 거 말고는 문제 없이 쓰다가 갑자기 이 오류가 나와서 들어오게 되었는데, 영상 따라서 앞에 커버 분리하고 나니 필터에 먼지가 엄청 많아서 거기만 청소 했는데 문제가 해결되었습니다.
와이프가 이젠 로O락으로 바꿀 기회라고 생각했던거 같은데 고치고 나니 실망하네요 ㅋㅋㅋ

Its time to change mine. Is it possible to upgrade the fan? Mine is a S6 Maxv 2500 can i change it to the S7 Maxv fan 5100? They look identical
If it fits well. For example the cable connector hole and bolts holes etc.

I tried this and the fan is now working. Unfortunately the vacuum won’t move. It is saying internal error. Any idea what this could be?
There are many cases in internal error. 1. mainbrush motor problem 2. left or right wheel problem 3. motherboard, etc.

Recently, I noticed a problem with the above. vacuum cleaner. After starting cleaning of the apartment, the vacuum cleaner starts and works normally, and after about 2-3 minutes the suction motor stops working. The vacuum cleaner goes silent, only the sweeping brush works, I did a robot reset, application reset, the battery shows normal values like 90% during operation. Any advice on what could be the cause and how to solve this problem?
