I am not an expert, but kids can get injuries on their private areas without having been assaulted. As it stands now, no one can confirm whether she was or not so I doubt the investigation will continue. More likely CPS will refer to this incident if something else gets reported down the line.

It could also be that she's in denial, because accepting that it was someone she has a personal relationship with would cause her too much shame and discomfort for choosing to bring them around her child. Some toxic personalities really can't handle anything that reflects badly on them, so they externalize blame and responsibility to shift the focus off of themselves.
There needs to be something in place to hold people like this accountable. Mothers accuse fathers all the time of things like this, yet theres no recourse for men who get cleared of any wrongdoing, and especially when like this case, their lives, careers, everything gets taken away by accusations that are never found.

What did the police and CPS conclude about the child? We know what they said about the daycare, but if a medical report was filed stating S.A. and the daycare was cleared, the police and CPS especially should still be investigating or have found a conclusion for the sake of the child.
Solely given the information, the one thing I got from this is that there are certain people that weaponize blame and those that run to "social justice" with no basis. We live in a world where more and more people don't know how to deal with their emotions and need help.
