Well yes. That’s been true for years, idk why they never gave us the third one. I'm a 45 year old man and after working a full shift I will jump on with friends to do some S&D at times. After playing a few games we noticed two things, it was the same people in the lobbies for about 4 games, we finally got to spectate the ones we reported and yes they were running blatant walls (mater prestige level 120). he asked if we reported him when they were playing against us and we said yes, he said nothing will come of it and he has played with them since day 1. later checked and me & my friend are shadow banned (restricted matchmaking) due to others spamming us I'm sure because of the actual cheaters. this game is like a kid throwing up in a gravitron, it ends up everywhere all over everything but the one causing the issue.
uninstalled COD black ops 6. never touching a COD again. disgusted by the AI generated microtransactions and skill based damage and matchmaking. reinstalling Xdefiant and hoping i can somehow help save it

Im 29 and it kills me to see it. As i only ever got to enjoy the golden ages of FPS games was when i could stay at one friends house. He was the only friend with internet. So i only get to hear about what was, as i watch them destroy it little by little.
I have played online FPS since quake 1 and it thrived until around 2012 from that point on they quickly became less about making fun games and more about milking every penny they can out of consumers. And that brought us to this, the dystopian landscape we have today.

Time to try XDEFIANT again. I'm happy I never deleted the game. Even if it's essentially dead, I would like to play it until it's offline. Personally a game isn't dead until it's unplayable online
It's just crazy how they sunset the game right before the biggest content drop. They were "ahead of the game" but drip fed us content. Felt like we were using the same guns and playing the same maps for over a year. I'm level 100 something and wanted this game to thrive but the lack of having ANYTHING to do other than camo grind for hours on end.
Also, the gun skins are too difficult to get to be worth it. In COD you can win a skin in a couple games, in XDefiant you need DOZENS of games to win anything.

broken attention span has made games difficult to enjoy today. if you take bo2, it was exactly the same maps, guns, challenges, and things to do all over and over. but we were able to enjoy them since we weren't so used to getting loads of content as we do today with the media.

Man I love xdefiant. It was the first time in years I really got addicted to a shooter again. I played so much just for the love of the game, I was so excited for all the progression fixes. I maxed out every weapon to 500 prepping for S3 just to then hear the game getting shut down was heartbreaking. Praying Ubi gets bought out and xdef gets revived with the same morals and ideas.
The info about DELTA FORCE was wrong. According to the developers, Delta Force only applies SBMM if you're below level 5 or something like that. So, if you're new to the game, they will match you with other newbies, but after that, you're on your own, back to the large pool with no SBMM, since by then you'll be considered an "experienced player.
Hopefully it makes a comeback. I feel like I should sign in and play to support but I don't feel like it's going to do much as a single person. Maybe we can band together and get this thing back online? They could make massive amounts of money on the game. They just didn't give it time.

Dude this isn't any real new news, they already announced that they were still going to still release the content that was scheduled but were going to pull the plug in 2025. Unless you got a message saying the Xdefiant closure was canceled they are still set to shutdown next year.

there are a couple things we need to keep in mind with this 1. it is a completely different genre of game, those of which have been starved from content by overwatch 2 being so dogshit in its area 2. it is free to play, meaning it takes the first minute of the game launching and you are counted as a player 3. its also a huge IP that has many people jumping to their consoles to try out the game for their favorite characters the concurrent player count is impressive by any means, but there are many reasons for that

Man XDefiant was honestly the most fun ive had in an fps in a long time. Especially at launch. Sure they had some server problems but the game modes and maps were pretty good and fun. Their season 1 launch was terrible imo. It felt like they fully turned on sbmm and suddenly every game was just a sweat fest and not fun. I stopped played. Went back last week and the game is still fun. Although it is pretty dead. I couldn't load into a single ranked or escort game which was my favorite game mode.

People won't come back to XDefiant mainly because they can't. If you uninstalled the game, it's no longer on the store to be able to redownload. Those who have it are all that remain unless they put it back on again.
Had a lot of hope for X, turned out to be a realy disapointing game to me, progresion is nothing else the earning xp trough playing the game instead of challenges wich is lazy in my opinion, even in season 3 that i roughly explored, not to mention, innseason 3 i had unlocked everything the game asked me to but i am still locked in preset loadouts since i entered prestige, nothing strange about it tho since this game had no updates without fing something up on accident since the dev team is inexperienced. Xdefiant is literal trash. I tried it, had the founders pack, got my money back. Hit registers, trash. Movement, trash. Ubisoft made the smart move since they couldn't even fix the basics.

I logged in last night to see that private games were already added in, and most of the content for weapon unlocks have already been unlocked for me. Unfortunately I couldn't get into a game I was sitting there for 15 minutes and only five players were found
What worked for me to get into games faster was turning off input based match making and selecting all of the objective game modes in my custom playlist. Might end up playing only one game mode the whole time but at least it was faster.
Hey BT, just wanted to say that Delta Force doesn't have SBMM. The devs explained further but basically they divide the players into "new" and "everyone else" and matches players with other players of their same category. "new" players are just players under a certain level or a certain amount of matches played, the way it works it's more like to protect newcomers so they can have some time to learn the mechanics but it's just that, there's no good or bad in that game, just new and not new. Delta Force is a really fun game and if the only thing stopping you from playing is the match-making, you can be safe to give it a try and not worry about that
Cod use to do this is swear. In the beginning of me you would be with a bunch of low levels. 10-15 games/ 20 levels later and the play lobbys were more diverse. They got rid of that too. Go figure.

And this is me - someone who was always a cod devotee and who had no interest in Xdf, until black ops 6 came out. I still play BO6 cause i don't really find anything else interesting currently but shit is really going down hill with anti cheat. AI though i don't really have a problem with it as long as they use it as a tool to help not entirely create things for the game. Like the banner in the event for example all they needed to do after generating it with AI is give it to an in house artist that they have and have them fix it/finish it. That would make it look better save time and money and resources for the devs on the more important stuff like anti cheat. But instead they just generated that shit and threw it straight into the game. AI is a great tool but as it is right now its not a complete solution for the problems i hope they understand this and start using AI as a tool and not a fucking be all end all.
The only hope I have for xDefiant is somehow people reverse engineer the game on the server side and we have something like plutonium for it, since it will only be fully offline on June it's enough time to some experienced devs to figure that stuff out if there is enough interest.

I hate seeing the death of the FPS genre. Its a sad sight to behold, however its bittersweet because I got to be a part of it. Im 30 now and got to witness the sweet prime rib juice of what was.
Im 29 and it kills me to see it. As i only ever got to enjoy the golden ages of FPS games was when i could stay at one friends house. He was the only friend with internet. So i only get to hear about what was, as i watch them destroy it little by little.
I have played online FPS since quake 1 and it thrived until around 2012 from that point on they quickly became less about making fun games and more about milking every penny they can out of consumers. And that brought us to this, the dystopian landscape we have today.

It's just crazy how they sunset the game right before the biggest content drop. They were "ahead of the game" but drip fed us content. Felt like we were using the same guns and playing the same maps for over a year. I'm level 100 something and wanted this game to thrive but the lack of having ANYTHING to do other than camo grind for hours on end.
Season 2 was all net code fixes. Season 3 was supposed to be all content. Remember, XDefiant was in it for the long haul.
Also, the gun skins are too difficult to get to be worth it. In COD you can win a skin in a couple games, in XDefiant you need DOZENS of games to win anything.

Man I love xdefiant. It was the first time in years I really got addicted to a shooter again. I played so much just for the love of the game, I was so excited for all the progression fixes. I maxed out every weapon to 500 prepping for S3 just to then hear the game getting shut down was heartbreaking. Praying Ubi gets bought out and xdef gets revived with the same morals and ideas.

The info about DELTA FORCE was wrong. According to the developers, Delta Force only applies SBMM if you're below level 5 or something like that. So, if you're new to the game, they will match you with other newbies, but after that, you're on your own, back to the large pool with no SBMM, since by then you'll be considered an "experienced player.

1. it is a completely different genre of game, those of which have been starved from content by overwatch 2 being so dogshit in its area
2. it is free to play, meaning it takes the first minute of the game launching and you are counted as a player
3. its also a huge IP that has many people jumping to their consoles to try out the game for their favorite characters
the concurrent player count is impressive by any means, but there are many reasons for that

Man XDefiant was honestly the most fun ive had in an fps in a long time. Especially at launch. Sure they had some server problems but the game modes and maps were pretty good and fun.
Their season 1 launch was terrible imo. It felt like they fully turned on sbmm and suddenly every game was just a sweat fest and not fun. I stopped played.
Went back last week and the game is still fun. Although it is pretty dead. I couldn't load into a single ranked or escort game which was my favorite game mode.

People won't come back to XDefiant mainly because they can't. If you uninstalled the game, it's no longer on the store to be able to redownload. Those who have it are all that remain unless they put it back on again.

Had a lot of hope for X, turned out to be a realy disapointing game to me, progresion is nothing else the earning xp trough playing the game instead of challenges wich is lazy in my opinion, even in season 3 that i roughly explored, not to mention, innseason 3 i had unlocked everything the game asked me to but i am still locked in preset loadouts since i entered prestige, nothing strange about it tho since this game had no updates without fing something up on accident since the dev team is inexperienced. What worked for me to get into games faster was turning off input based match making and selecting all of the objective game modes in my custom playlist. Might end up playing only one game mode the whole time but at least it was faster.

Hey BT, just wanted to say that Delta Force doesn't have SBMM. The devs explained further but basically they divide the players into "new" and "everyone else" and matches players with other players of their same category. "new" players are just players under a certain level or a certain amount of matches played, the way it works it's more like to protect newcomers so they can have some time to learn the mechanics but it's just that, there's no good or bad in that game, just new and not new. Delta Force is a really fun game and if the only thing stopping you from playing is the match-making, you can be safe to give it a try and not worry about that

Cod use to do this is swear. In the beginning of me you would be with a bunch of low levels. 10-15 games/ 20 levels later and the play lobbys were more diverse. They got rid of that too. Go figure.

I still play BO6 cause i don't really find anything else interesting currently but shit is really going down hill with anti cheat. AI though i don't really have a problem with it as long as they use it as a tool to help not entirely create things for the game. Like the banner in the event for example all they needed to do after generating it with AI is give it to an in house artist that they have and have them fix it/finish it. That would make it look better save time and money and resources for the devs on the more important stuff like anti cheat. But instead they just generated that shit and threw it straight into the game. AI is a great tool but as it is right now its not a complete solution for the problems i hope they understand this and start using AI as a tool and not a fucking be all end all.

The only hope I have for xDefiant is somehow people reverse engineer the game on the server side and we have something like plutonium for it, since it will only be fully offline on June it's enough time to some experienced devs to figure that stuff out if there is enough interest.

It’s not a bad game at all,new cod is buggy, they needa grow some balls and stand up to Activision
XDefiant lost 95% of its playerbase,and COD has lost 25% of their playerbase,they are not the same
I still don't understand why Ubisoft didn't just take the 30% cut for the MASSIVE amount of players to get from Steam and Steam alone. Damn man...
