dude, I usually turn off the main menu music and when I booted up the game it reset my audio settings and I was in the middle of turning off the main menu music when I stopped and just had to listen to it, it sounds so good
All I’ve done is listen to that song at the beginning and it legit gave me goosebumps… I haven’t had a single video game song do that since hearing the Halo 2 menu load up at 12:30am release night… Incredible work

I’m going to be honest, the only reason I haven’t played Xdefiant is because I moved to college and couldn’t bring my console. BT i am an OG like yourself started with halo 2 got to enjoy the golden years of gaming (COD 4, Halo3, Gears of war.) stopped playing multiplayer games after 2019 COD. i had over 3 W/L and stayed around a 2 K/D. Your vids got me on xdefiant! i got 2 of my buddys to play with me. We all were over level 150 in xdefiant we all loved this game. when they had 3v3"s i went on a 37 game winstreak it was so much fun i am so bummed xdefiant is shutting down honestly is a tragedy for multiplayer games.
Long term "The Division" player here. Red Storm dealt with the PvP in that game. Really good team. What made these developers different, is that once a week they would appear on a live stream and answer FAQs, take feedback and give regular updates on any fixes/balance updates and "the state of the game" (they called the show that). The community engagement was always a strong point of theirs. Cleary a team that genuinely cares about their game, and their community. These devs deserved better than this it has to he said....
Don't know how to take Ubisoft...I think they are just incompetent honestly...I mean seriously if they would have just dropped xdefiant 1 month or 2 earlier we would be having a different conversation...cod was dead and they waited until the release of bo6 which let's be real cod games always feel good in the betas and zombies saved bo6...then ubisoft decides to abandoned xdefiant but not until bo6 gets caught red handed fucking everybody...it's almost like Activision caught on and bribed ubisoft into shutting this game down...I have nothing to back that theory up but it's pretty weird how this has all played out...

This is how live service games should be! Listening to the community will always pay off. It really sucks that Ubisoft decided to cut the line on XDefient. There's so much stuff that was planned to be added later along the line that will never see the light of day. Too bad we won't see it...

Yesterday after the update my lobby was full of players above level 100 when usually there are maybe 4-6. Love it how people are still supporting xdefiant. ❤

BT i am an OG like yourself started with halo 2 got to enjoy the golden years of gaming (COD 4, Halo3, Gears of war.) stopped playing multiplayer games after 2019 COD. i had over 3 W/L and stayed around a 2 K/D. Your vids got me on xdefiant! i got 2 of my buddys to play with me. We all were over level 150 in xdefiant we all loved this game. when they had 3v3"s i went on a 37 game winstreak it was so much fun i am so bummed xdefiant is shutting down honestly is a tragedy for multiplayer games.
Long term "The Division" player here. Red Storm dealt with the PvP in that game. Really good team.
What made these developers different, is that once a week they would appear on a live stream and answer FAQs, take feedback and give regular updates on any fixes/balance updates and "the state of the game" (they called the show that). The community engagement was always a strong point of theirs.
Cleary a team that genuinely cares about their game, and their community. These devs deserved better than this it has to he said....

Don't know how to take Ubisoft...I think they are just incompetent honestly...I mean seriously if they would have just dropped xdefiant 1 month or 2 earlier we would be having a different conversation...cod was dead and they waited until the release of bo6 which let's be real cod games always feel good in the betas and zombies saved bo6...then ubisoft decides to abandoned xdefiant but not until bo6 gets caught red handed fucking everybody...it's almost like Activision caught on and bribed ubisoft into shutting this game down...I have nothing to back that theory up but it's pretty weird how this has all played out...
Love how you mentioned Halo 3 and in regards to that I haven't liked another shooter as much since like I do with XD. I went so far as to modify my controller for XD (hair triggers), something I haven't done since Halo 3.

I think the game won't shut down. If a new investor takes over Ubisoft I believe the game will simply continue in this state under new management...

i saw a lot of people in this comment section talk about "xdefiant being shut down coz its bad", the game isnt shutting down because its bad, its shutting down because ubisoft has no more money since every game they released recently has been a huge failure, ubisoft is predicted to go banckrupt by end of 2025 by market expert... thats why they are shutting games down
A single game caused this. Skull and Bones cost the equivalent of 5-8 AC Valhalla's and it flopped.
This drop hit hard. The maps, vision and direction are so impressive and amazing. Very player-centric. I hope that somewhere down the line it sees a resurrection.
It actually makes no sense why they've kept all this content back then when Ubisoft drops the game it's all released? Where was even a fraction of this content when the game was dying?
