WHEEL STUD FAQ
Can you still replace your brake rotors? Yes, the rotor simply slides over the studs.
Can the studs be removed? Not easily, but yes. If you want to go back to doing it the hard way, there is a way to get them out.
Can you still use wheel locks? Yes, because studs are more common, this opens you up to a bigger (and better) selection of locks.

You can buy these and put it on the center cap, just measure for the size. I bought some for wheels on my STI and they look pretty good.
I need some advice please! Just put wheels on my e90 and added the spacers; 20mm in back 15mm in front. Love the look. BUT, now my steering wheel is shaking at like 40+ mph. Everything seemed to fit perfectly. I just kept using bolts, but got the proper length. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!!

I started watching your channel when I bought e90, thank you very much for all the wisdom. Now I have moved to next generation, but instead of buying regular f30 I went for rare and more practical f34 GT version. And I discovered that there are almost NO channels about f34 model like you have about e90. So my request is if you ever move to F platform in the future - consider F34). It’s a really good family car with unique look and quite rare, I think a lot of people would enjoy some quality content about it.

Definitely getting spacers for my fronts to sit more flush. My rears poke perfectly. Also i see your hubs are just as rusty as mine lol was looking into getting 4 new hubs.

Hey just a suggestion for the camera, you may consider bumping up the F-stop a bit on some of your shots. Like on the shot where you held up the tube of thread locker, the depth of field was so shallow that your face was in focus but the object you were holding up was fuzzy. A little higher F-stop on the lens would increase that DOF allowing both you and the object you're talking about to be in focus.
Nice ride there. The good thing about wheel bolts converted to studs is the ease of using extended studs (or bolts) with spacers. For us guys with stock wheel studs, we would have to pound out the studs or on some cars even remove the hubs to get the studs out, in order to replace them with extended studs for using a spacer.
Yeah that's a must.. thats on the agenda for me as well! So unnecessarily complicated

Hey Justin, I have a 2006 325i e90. I'm running 18" wheels. I haven"t done anything to my suspension, and at high speeds I feel more lift than I'm comfortable with. In your opinion, have you found a suspension your prefer more than others? I was told that KW suspension is the way to go!

Cesar Merino your factory ones should work on most wheels. And wheel spacers will depend how you want it to look.
Pro-tip.. drop a screw driver in the cooling vane of the rotor. When the rotor spins to the right, the screw driver will wedge itself between the caliper so you won’t need to secure the disk with your hand.

I work as a tyre Fitter and the worst thing we see on hubs is copper grease, as part of our job we wire brush the hubs, some cars have a raised ring around the hub to hold the wheel in place better, BMW, Audi and Mercedes all seem to corrode alot

i just did the conversion using a different tutorial and also used about the same amount of loctite (although i used red) on my studs. just a drop or 2 on one area (a bit more than your amount in this video) and then threaded them in. kies motorsports video also showed him just doing a ploop on the studs. is that an ample amount and did you have any issues all these years?

Hi I need your help my car is a BMW F30 2014 and my wheels are 19 by 9.5 in the back with a 7mm spacer and the tire is 265/35r19 the et 45 I use a nut of 12mm long because I just take off a 12 mm spacer do you think is a problem use the 12 mm nut with the 7 mm spacer

+20 offset is perfect in my opinion. That’s what I have on the front of mine

Luis Kay i have a Pittsburg 3 ton low profile jack from Harbor Freight. Just MAKE SURE you put the jack on the jacking point 😅😅😅
I have spacers on my E90 330i and they came with nuts to hold the spacer onto the hub. Then your wheel bolts just go in as normal except new holes in the spacer rather than the hub. I find it weird these spacers didn't come with anything like that

I changed the ET offset to 35mm in place of 45mm and got the same result without spacers
I have a m sport e90 with stock rims. 10mm spacers front - 20mm for the rears. Anyone on the fence try these sizes (make sure they’re hub centric as Justin said). They sit perfectly flush front & rear & look good.
Notice any difference in handling or anything? Thinking of doing this setup to my e90

Looks like you have some tough tire lube on your tire, usually i use some warm water+ degreaser- medium/hard bristle brush!

Spacers add stresses to the bearings that the bearing is not designed for.
Isn't it the same as using a wheel with an offset that's out of spec?
I think it's adding a moment in the wrong axis on the bearing.

My board grip process: Always Mob, with the perforated grip to prevent air bubbles. Slap it on. File it down with a little more pressure than just creating the outline, wearing the grip out a little, making it easier to cut and also adhere to edge of board during early use. I find using the the blade by itself is easiest to work with. But I make four initial cuts : one at wheel. Then I cut it off in four pieces. The larger end pieces, after cut off, I sand a little bit more around the edge of all the grip. Take the screws, pop them all the say through from under, pull'em out, then back through the top. Slap those indies on, Wham! Bam! I also have that same "first kickflip superstition"! 😂
And I always cut the grip through bottom while grip is facing up, this way you aren't cutting into the sandpaper, making for an easier cut.

Just hold 1 bolt in the rim when u mount it? Never felt this was an issue. Oh also guess what happens when aluminium rims and copper meet? There is aluminium paste aswell :)

Stock alloys have around 40 ET , you can just fit 30~ ETs legally and with same result. In USA maybe not a big deal , in Europe most countries police officers going to smoke you like a lobster

These are designed for race applications so I feel like they are more than suitable for daily driving. I'll keep everyone updated if a wheel falls off lol. I've done about 300 miles since the install.
Spacers bad idea from race engineering and vehicle handling perspective. Pushing the unsprung weight further out reduces spring rate and puts additional load on wheel bearings.

Last forever, I’ve had my Swiss’s for like 3-4 years now and they still spin for like over a minute. Oh and I totally feel you on Zumiez, a guy completely ruined my buddies grip once because he put the razor in from the top of the grip so it just like zig zags on the side of the deck, the manager had to come over and re grip it, it was sad to watch man.
