After playing the exact same piece... it was obviously much better even specular. Then he said the difference is I have mastered the basics of of playing the piano through many years of dedication, practice and instruction.

I had a thirty year career and I used this everyday. Set your own high standards and then the pressure exists. Now the passion can be difficult but if you think of the higher good your work will result in that will give you the 'why". If you are only interested in yourself at the end of this process you will only have built an ego however if you think of others you will grow as a person as well. I became sick 9 years ago, the doctors couldn't tell me what was wrong, and I became like a zombie. I kept pushing because that's all I knew, and one day it got to the point where I could push no further. I am a father of two young children, and up until recently I had no hope of working again. One day I decided to try to learn some form of coding, and after many days of frustration and headache, I was able to create something that actually worked. It sparked a passion in me, that perhaps I wasn't doomed to just live a life on a couch. I, like you, started joining every course I could find, and over the last few months have learned much. Pressure in life IS how we find purpose, and without it, we are nothing.

I am so glad that you clearly laid out these two main drivers: Pressure and Passion. Now that I think about it, I learned to program on VBA quickly mainly because I promised a senior colleague that I could help them automate some tedious data gathering and cleaning processes. It felt like setting a challenge, which created a PRESSURE to deliver. Though, it was not a random challenge that I decided to take on. I was actually fascinated at the thought of being able to program something that makes life easier for someone else and enhance the team's productivity. So there was a strong element of PASSION that drove me and helped keep me motivated to learn. I find that whenever either of pressure or passion is lacking, the learning process stagnates. Great content, keep them coming Ignasi!

For myself, it is the mastery of self.
To master self you must know the smallest things and the biggest thing, the shallowest things and the deepest thing.
See them laid out in front of you like a map on the ground.
If your goal is complete and total mastery of self, you must gain mastery of every element of the world around you.

19 years old, got my first job ever last week. It's a weekend job as a waitress in a hotel. I know (and most of my coworkers already told me) that it's okay to make mistakes and that I should take it easy. And I will take it easy! I just really want to improve asap, don't wanna rush it, but don't want to stall it either. The rough situation my family and I are going through economically has shattered our mental health so I know I shouldn't to push myself too far. Still, I know I will feel great when for example I manage to carry a bunch of plates on one arm. My coworker said he learnt to do it after four or five months in; that's alright, but I feel like I slow them all down, what with being the new kid and all that... also, I really do not want to make the same mistakes I made on this first week (don't spill, don't grab the glasses, no dashing, don't forget everything when you fill the minibars, be quick, be kind but in a formal way, no hiding, have a sharper eye, be helpful). So that's the pressure. The passion comes from wanting to learn and excel in new little somethings everyday, that's been my passion since childhood so, same as always. Nice video

So i was in that zone meaning, i usually took jobs which needed less experience than what i have (so for example if the job required 2 years and i have 5 years of experience in that technology, i would feel comfortable to apply for 2 years one even if there was another position that requires 5 or more years) because i was afraid and thought that people will reticule me if i speak stupidly or do something stupid. So in an effort to stay open since ALL of our livlihood was in the restaurant, I literally learned how to cook every dish (I learned how to cook PERIOD) in a short amount of time, and to even duplicate the stuff that was on the menu. For me, I don't even believe it. But the restaurant stayed open for another year (even though we did eventually close) and our clientelle remained happy with the food.

For me learning new things is fun but when there's a controlled pressure, it makes it faster.

Hell yeah, I got a story. It happened a couple of months ago. So I go to this institute, there they kinda help prepare for an important exam. They have monthly tests that evaluate us. I am not soo interested in it, it's kinda boring so I didn't practice as hard as I should which led to me getting low marks. We are given a booklet which has like exercises 1,2,3 and 4 with 3, and 4 being difficult. In a parent-teacher meeting my teacher asked whether I solved those hard ones cuz if I did I wouldn't be getting such less marks and because I had lied to my parents about it in the moment I lied to my teacher too. (I hadn't solved them but I told them that I had). He then asked my dad to come after his next class which was 2 days later so he could make me solve those hard ones in front of him. NOW, I didn't want to come out as a liar or ruin my image so, I came under this pressurized passion and solved all questions in those exercises in 2 days. Normally, it would have taken more than a week ngl. Productivity wasat an all time high, and my solving speed was tripled, it was insane. And yes I did save myself there, with the blame being put on me not able to handle the time pressure of exam.
This thing legit works, works like magic. But I got a problem, I can't get myself into such situations; except if they happen by chance.

What about procrastination? I mean, my "pressurized passion" mode is only activated tomorrow, after being assigned the task weeks or even months ago --just when the deadline is in my face. This case is true for EVERYTHING I'm working on, like college works, personal project, self-learning stuffs, etc. You've got some tips on how to overcome this problem? Deadlines are made so you can work like hell just before it passed a little while before then, my brain said. Adn when I try (VERY HARD) to work way before the deadline, I'm easily distracted. Some are done, some not. And when it's done, instead of it getting the procrastination easier to cope with, it worsened.

    • @ignasijunyent
      @ignasijunyent  Год назад +14

I totally get it, I've been there myself as well. In such cases the problem is not the pressure I would say, but the passion. Why are you trying to do that thing, and is it really something important / fulfilling for you? For me when passion was high enough I would only think about that topic and it was really easy to get started with it.
Now, if the passion is not high but you still need to do it because of other obligations, this video I made some time ago on procrastination might help: ruclips.net/video/pMPMNCtXaGg/видео.html

Pressure, in other words, taking the leap. Quit your job and follow your dreams (if you have no dependents). There’s no other choice

I have been searching for this "pressurized passion" thing for quite some while . I am just wondering why it is not more talked about . I guess many people share this characteristic.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
    John 14:1-6
