    Really useful, thank you. How do you feel about ordinary felt as a batting? (The kind used to make projects for children, soft toys etc.)

      I'm not sure about using such a material. My concerns would be, color fastness (if it's a color), will it fall apart and bunch up when washed, will it "beard" through when stitched? You put so much love and work into the piecing, the finishing deserves to be a good quality to match your beloved quilt top:)
