subbed a long ass time ago, because you have the best informational youtube vids for LoL by a huge margin. Gameleap's youtube for dota is great, mainly because of speeed. but when it comes to LoL, skill capped is by far the best, and it's not even close.

na it can be really annoying when your jungler cant do anything mid game and basically instant loses any sort of smite battle.
That's why ppl are most stuck in gold.
You rely on teammates to win. And ppl who smurfs in low elo win games bcoz you all braindeadly want ganks.
I did have a game like this as rammus one time, every lane was free ganks all day long. Completely shut out a riven because she hard overextended against a panth three times in a row.
Jsn Agn relying on teammates to win isn’t a bad thing. It’s a team game after all.. and you can get your team so far ahead ,they can make a mistake of fighting a 4v5 fight (clearly outnumbered) and still win the fight because you got your team so far ahead. And if what you’re saying was true, there wouldn’t be a single high Elo support player
nah man, this is only one of few games, his playing style is high risk high reward. If the enemy team is really coordinated he would be out of the game. He relies on the enemies mistakes and tries to collapse on them.
You know what would be cool? A tutorial on how to evaluate lane matchups cause I always don't know where to go whenever I play jungle
Emi sucks It’s simple. You have to ask these questions every game: Do I have reliable CC? How many allies have reliable CC? Who has the push advantage? Has the enemy laners any scape ability? Can the enemy jungler countergank? Can I win the 2v2? You’ll eventually do It unconciously.
what Lilian said
It's knowledge you acquire playing the lanes or you should ask high elo players that main said lane to tell you how it goes, you often can't evaluate it properly on the go because some interactions are strange and some matchups are counterintuitive
@@lilianarruda2187 when I jg I never ask myself those questions but now I will and maybe I'll hit m6 on Kha'zix
Nathatron it’s really useful because It helps to organize your gameplan. I do it while at I’m at the loading screen, it also helps to write down the questions on a paper untill you do it by second nature.

@@SeaSaltK Same, tried the hard ganking non stop angle but even on people like Nunu where I can get a kill at lvl 3 almost 100% of the time and get a ton more ganks after that it ends up to often with me being behind and my laners feeding anyway.

I have seen laners in solo q fuk up the lead they got themselves from out play

@@Barnesofthenorth in bronze it's actually random what happens, your team may carry you, and maybe not. He's only being selfless here, cause he's so far behind, that he can't get back in the game without his team. I struggle playing jarvan in bronze, but in gold it works fine for me. With Master Yi, it's no problem at all. It is possible to carry with jarvan in bronze, but I guess you'll go full damage jarvan then, if you get at least a few kills early.
This is actually my favorite type of video! You can actually try and come up with the answer yourself. It helps you actively think about different scenarios rather than just listening and trying to copy. Even if your own answer was wrong, you still learn a lot more from being corrected rather than just listening without coming up with an answer of your own.

It was actually a double Neeko lane all along!
I'm really happy that my experience in Diamond Elo Jungling and Laning knowledge (specially in Top), actually helped me in this vid. All of what he said, his thought process. I actually got it right, albeit with a few renditions as well as additional thoughts on what to do after. Like (because I have more time to analyze the match up) I actually made some backup plans if things doesn't go as to planned. Like with the second one with bot side.
I actually do think, that it was really unexpected for that to happen, and if that were to happen in High Elo. (Free Bot Prio), but because they're not that high (in terms of skill and knowledge). I slightly predicted that it won't end well if I ever contested with the crab, so there is that.
Now on the high elo. I'm quite proud of myself there, for my thought process is like this.
So we have:
A Pantheon vs Riven Match up on Top.
A Taliyah vs Jarvan with the Jungle.
A Pyke vs Ryze Match on Mid.
A Varus/Lux vs MF/Yuumi Match down on Bot.
Ok. Let's start with top. Pantheon should win early for his power spike is much better than riven on that terms (unless it reaches mid-late game where he falls off) And because this is high elo. I expect him to capitalize on that and manage his wave (a crucial thing to have for all laners out there!) So. Panth is actually a good gank, plus with his follow up on a point and click stun as well as Riven being squishy on the early levels of the Game. It's a really good setup for the jungler.
Then We have Mid. I don't know much about Pyke mid, but what I do know is Ryze. As far as things go, A Ryze would always play safe till he scales. He is considerably weak on the early stages, that's why it's hard to gank a good fvkin Ryze, not just because he'll most likely play safe, but he has the tools to stop or negate a Gank incoming. Add with the usual Phase Rush runepage Ryze mains take. It's quite a hard lane to gank UNLESS your mid laner has the tools to counter that (CC, burst, etc) Which, unbeknownst to me, I never truly knew that a Pyke mid could be THAT good. (Sorry for not knowing on that, I have yet to come across one in my games so far.) So, my initial thoughts on the mid match up is an iffy. If Pyke manages to freeze the lane in his favor (highly unlikely cause of the behavior of most Ryze match up. Stay safe and Scale) but all in all, it's still a good lane to gank. If I have more matchup knowledge with Pyke, that iffy will change drastically, as all with any other champs.
Going down we have bot side. All that I can say is that what he said on the vid, is the same thought process I got, so happy me. Don't get me wrong though, it's a very good lane to gank because of the nature of the enemy botlane's champs (being not so mobile), but we have like one good source follow up and it's Lux's q, so not so great, but still optimal. If it's a Nautilus, Leona, Thresh, or Blitz though. I say it'll be the perfect lane, but as the match up goes. It ain't, so that's basically it on all lanes...
Now we have the jungler... Which is the most difficult, but also the most predictable if you know the match up. If you know the feats of your teammates and the enemies, so does the other jungler! A golden rule in high elo jungling. So you'll be needing a lot of match up knowledge and in game info to set yourself up. We know the strengths of our laners, so does he. So either prioritize your movements on objectives (outperform him in jungling basically) or do what the challenger player does. Play with your strengths, help with your weaknesses, process and analyze the game, then capitalize on it! Everything must be close to your ideal scenario, especially depending on what's currently happening on the map!
I hope this is good enough though. For these are most of what I got with the match up.
me: i guess i'm pretty good
also me: *answer all questions wrong*
This was Pog content! Really like this type of questioning/pausing style in this video, where you actually took a few seconds to ACTUALLY think of an alternative decision as a jungler. Real Pog.
Good video so far, feel like i'm doing pretty good and making the right choices in this "skill test".
However I have noticed a mistake on the 2nd top lane match-ups. Malphite is on Hector's team where as the map shows Ornn being on Hectors team, which is incorrect. That may sway peoples thoughts of where they should gank if they may not understand, even though I still think even in that situation bot is the way better option :)
Edit 2: This happens again with the Taliyah game by Hector. His team's botlane is correct, however the enemy botlane is labelled as Miss Fortune + Yuumi, where as the actual lane is Thresh Kalista.
what did you expect, it's a free video lol
@@marcocortiglioni2221 well, why should i pay for something if they advertise this badly ...

Haven't watched the video yet, I just read the title. The answer is "no."
ive noticed that a lot, if you focus on ganking you really fall behind on level, but im glad you highlight that as a high elo skill, good content!
I would really like a guide similar to this but for more farming junglers like shyv and khartus or maybe even nid(though not really a power farming champ) cuz I just started learning some jungle
It's simple: Farm.
Nidalee is a hard jungle pick, something you can utilise well at higher skill and ranks
Definitely awesome having commentary and decisions displayed to think about what to do yourself before you go on about it.
This was the best video I have ever watched.
I definitely agree with Hector, if you are behind as a jungler, look to do more ganks than to farm because its really difficult in this meta to come back.
I always like to maintain bot priority for those drakes
The selfless gameplay worked because his team mates are master - grandmasters.
In Trash IV counting on apes to utilize the lead you created for them is straight up suicide.
In super low elo you can just gank over and over and get so fed you become an adc....
@@LeoxSevered You'd think that, but generally a jgler will be weaker than a laner, so unless your team mate on that lane helps, you're not getting anything. People in silve and gold dont know how to follow up a gank or how to bait an enemy in to committing themselves.
@@thekingof300 in super low elo, hecarim can just run through the completely unwarded jg and river and solo kill the top laner like 5 or 6 times. Big Hec will 1v9 or at least absolutely blast the enemy back line guaranteed. Theres a lot of junglers that can turn into monsters when up 2 or 3 levels and 2k gold.
look you get all types of different players...theres times where i suck at jgling and Swain mid goes off for 15 kills...theres time where i do good jngling and my team capitalizes off of it...i'd rather play the right way and get used to playing the right way instead of getting in the habit of trying play hero and then have to break that habit when i get to higher elo...look at Reksai ...one of the beter jnglers but def is not a carry option
I love pausing the video and trying to figure out what move to make next. When it’s set up like this I think it’s a great learning tool. Awesome content

5:19 The toplane matchup was inversed! You swapped malphite and ornn's teams on the graph.
As a jungle main it’s really the junglers pivot and map awareness that wins the games. I tend to be the one pinging for the team when I know what the patterns are for the rest of the enemy teams champs and I always gank the lanes that are being shoved in their turrets early. It’s also important to know both the spells and other champion’s cooldowns while at it as it can determine whether or not you’ll make a successful gank. Just a tip. See you on the rift gamers.
Damn, this hector guy is good, he should make his own channel
Is so hard as a solo queue player to think about ganking a lane that keeps on making mistakes. Sometimes i fall behind so hard by thinking i can come back into the game by farming. Ego is big in the Jungle. I just learned an important lesson. Thank you Hector.
i got em all right its just that for some reason i can't think clearly when i am in-game.
It's because you're not thinking. You have to think about it actively or else you autopilot
Make it habits
Try commentating a game like u are streaming. Say out loud why you are doing each thing. This will help you spot mistakes and grow as a player.
in the second game when you give the overview of all the laners it shows Ornn on his team and Malphite on the enemy team
"Did you think like a bronze player or a challenger?"
My jungler: think? We don't do that here.
At 5:18 the map shows ornn on hector's team but it was actually the malphite, just a little oversight I guess but if that were the case I would have gone top.
"Lane matchups" are messed up for top on 2nd game
trick question @ 5:14 as visually the pre-game map shows ornn as his teammate, but in fact it is malph who is his top laner
Hey skillcapped could we get one of these but for adc, even if it's just on the website.
Skill capped as an edu content creator is amazing. This channel is one of the few, along with Neace, LS and some others that actually takes the game seriously and produces good content. In light of Voyboy's recent video I think the community deserves to hear you guys' take on afks, griefers, etc. We who care about the game should make a stand and say that enough is enough. "Places less weight on gold and exp from camps, and moves towards a more pressure heavy gank style."
The Master Yi main in me- uh.... Yikes...
It all depends on the champion really. Rek'sai, Nidalee or Elise must apply as much early pressure as they can because
1: they are just nuts strong in early
2' they fall flat in lategame.
Master Yi is the exact opposite: he needs money and a lot of it to work, however he builds up much stronger than Rek'sai and when he joins later in the fray he does...what he's famous for doing.
@@tehrik0020 I might be bad but it feels like he is just as busted early on.
I'm probably almost the polar opposite style of jungler these days. I used to love being a selfless gankasaurus like this, but I actually find myself getting more consistent results out of keeping my ganks limited, but high impact (high % chance of success+value of success), and staying ahead of the farming/counterjungling and objective game.

Question from a High Silver jungler looking to improve:
How can I tell which side of the map I should focus on? How do you know which champs can follow up on ganks well?
Daniel Xu by follow up they mean champs that can engage or have cc, anything that can really help you succeed with the gank. So analyze the game in the loading screen and figure out which laner can help you the most when ganking. For example a renekton top has dash and stun so he can follow up pretty well, while on the other hand a riven top would be a poor choice for a early lvl gank. (Plat jngler here)
@@viktorripo7887 ok thanks man!
But you guys are legit saying hector has a unique playstyle even among challengers and asking us what to do in a situation.. Hector's playstyle works for him because he gets his laners ahead and they know how to snowball the lead but it puts him in a vulnerable position and a smart enemy jungler would set up deep vision when he shows on the map, take your farm, and later counter gank with an item advantage. Hector even admits he tilts when his laners dont base or do what they are supposed to, what do you do when the entire team is like that. From what I've experienced, and have seen from challengers smurfing in silver and gold, your teammates have VERY little game knowledge, dont respond to pings, vision information, and power spikes.
It makes the ranking system so frustrating because you're constantly having amazing games where everyone rotates correctly, follows up on pings, pushes objectives, and then others where a Riven goes 0-7 pre 10 minutes and is spam chatting you it's your fault.
I've saved alot of the challenger "smurfing" videos from other creators of them saying silver is the hardest elo to get out of or the hardest games they've played. They are showing yes it's possible to carry your team and consistently win, but only with challenger game knowledge and mechanics. It's like saying, hey you can climb out of this crapfest, but you have to do it batman dark knight style.
And something to think about too, with all these challengers and diamond players making smurf videos for content, wouldn't it suck to be in those games? "Yes, finally in my promos for plat!" _"Kingstix has entered the chat"
I like Tarzaned because he uses actual silver, gold, plat, diamond gameplay and comments on what the player is doing/coaches on what he should be looking at.
Just personal opinion.
And I also wish the ranking system had more to do with your personal grade in game. Because it sucks when you have an S+ grade, have the most damage on objectives, better vision score than your support, highest kill participation on your team and still get -25 LP. Where does someone find the motivation after experiencing that a couple seasons in a row.
(my english bad, yeah) if someone have 200+games in ranked and stucked in some elo, it's ALWAYS means that he have that elo. So silver is hardest elo only for silver players.
Personal grade and actual quality of play can vary greatly and is often a reflection on whether your team is ahead or not. It's more of a for fun metric and will hopefully never impact actual LP (easy to cheat the system if it did and no algorithm can perfecflty capture someone's contribution to a game). You could be fed with a massive CS score and then go bot with Baron up as a late game ADC. Your team loses the game and you have a nice S-. That game is still your fault.
@@Pawnlust I meant more to do with LP as in how much you lose when your team loses. Absolutely agree that going bot as an adc when baron is up late game basically loses the game for you, but if you're getting an S+, I think for the most part you're doing exactly what you should be doing for your role/champion, I would like to see a less of a hit to LP lost for people who get S grades in lost games is what I'm suggesting I guess. It's a team game, but when you constantly get hard stuck million point yasuos and riven mains who feed 12 kills and flash their mastery, it's a bit tilting.
@@xzxexnxixtx I agree if someone has an insane amount of games in a certain elo and isn't progressing that's probably their skillcap. But I'm making the argument about silver and gold in general. It's not just difficult for silver or gold players, challenger and diamond streamers making smurf videos often say that they are the most unpredictable and difficult games they find themselves in.
Just for reference, I'm currently diamond 4. But the 1st season I played, i remember wanting to smash my keyboard a few times getting through silver because my bot lane wouldn't back after winning a fight bot, so that the enemy mid and jungler could wipe them up and get a free drag. I'm just saying in general, hector has a unique playstyle even among challengers, and using him as the basis of "what you should do" should be taken with a grain of salt.
The quiz themed videos are great, keep it up, more jg guides for higher ratings are appreciated (d2+ in my case)
5:22 orn and malphite swaped
This is super useful for when the enemy jungler intentionally feeds at level 3 and when the enemy Morde just stands there while being ganked. Thanks Skill Capped!
Not even the bullet from Pumped up Kicks music came faster than me to watch this video
Uh I just wanted to point out, once the second game started, it was indicated that Ornn was on blue side, when the decision making process for pathing was being made, I don't think it changed much, but the fact that ornn has good level 3 engage can change things and it's just a glitch that changes decision making a little, figured I'd let you know if you didn't notice already :).
It only works when Hector plays; when I play I'm matched with a bunch of ANIMALS.

I might be hard stuck gold, but at least I don’t say “Mayokai” 🤮
Great content. I can play really gank-heavy on some junglers, but not all. I like Vi and AP Shyvana, but they have to play vastly different styles. I can start ganking non-stop at level 3 on Vi, but Shyvana takes much more farm to come online and be effective.
DUDE, UR TUTOS ARE AMAZING.

5:30 A good analysis on the Malphite vs. Ornn matchup. Sadly I was asked to analyze a map with an Ornn vs. Malphite matchup
This style of videos are great and I have learned from it a lot. but 9:41 ----> in game weren't Miss and Yumii xd
all my questions were answered, the questions were very obvious to me because what these questions required for you to know is basic champion knowledge and how to act accordingly as a jungler.
man, i just found your channel through this vid and im loving u already. these quiz's are a nice brain practise, especially with the reasoning behing them. instant SUB
Question: in the 5:20 screen it shows thats Hactor has a orn top and the enemy has malphite. So I asumed that's its possible to kill malphite on a gank easily since blue side would have many max hp spells and cc. would it be correct to go bot-> top in that case instead of top->bot since botlanes gankablity relies on jhin not using his q every 5 sec?
thank you that was very fast 13 mins. need more of this
I'm surprised people picked up on the top maokai / ornn issue but not the 9:43 Yuumi + MF issue which is actually Thresh and Kallista
Keep the consistency goong 📈🚀
Wow, I really liked this video! I'm still on my placement matches in ranked, but I think I'll get to at least silver with those tips from you, so thank you!
in the 5:22 you show the image of the game, but the topplaners are incorrect, , hector has the malph agains the ornn
I was thinking to focus bot since heimer was their only source of AP damage, if he fell behind they could just stack armor and autowin
When you asked which lane he would pressure at 5:13, Ornn is shown to be in Hector's team. If that was the case he would be able to pressure Malphite, right? Ornn sure has a good follow up.
The issue is that those two will never die
You have some of the ‘Matchup Previews’ wrong. The second game (Maokai Vs Fiddlesticks) showed that Ornn was on Hector’s team and Malphite was an enemy. It was the other way around. For the third game in (Taliyah Vs Jarvan) you had the enemy Bot Lane looking as if it were a Miss Fortune & Yuumi Lane but it was actually a Kalista & Thresh.
9:45 Shouldn’t you path towards botlane since jarvan started blue? Because you dont want a counter gank from jarvan ? Pls someone explain
Really love this style of video! Please keep doing more like this :O
5:18 isnt that ornn and malph icon wrong ? Later in the videio we see malph on the blue side and in the map preview malph is red
This is all fine and good for traditional junglers, but as a Karthus main I don't really gank effectively and farming is more efficient. Ganks are based on opportunity and my lack of a strong initiate or escape requires the laner to recognize this, leading to me pressing the "Pentakill but for everyone else" button as my primary lane support. Thoughts?
yes, i play kindred, my route is red, blue, gromp for quick level 3 and camp the yasuo,i play in the vietnam server and there's rarely another midlaner other than yasuo so this route is pretty good
I never knew how much I didn't know till you taught me. Most of the questions I got wrong.
Like
Top or Bottom
Gank top or not
And etc.
I think the biggest thing about Hector playing selfless in GM is that 'most' players at that level of play have a somewhat decent understanding of how to use their leads. You don't see that as much in Gold and below. To prove a point one of my games yesterday (Silver) had a Warwick jungle that hard camped Maokai (our lane) top lane vs a Riven. Riven started the game pretty far behind being 0-3 with Warwick taking the kills on her. The Maokai proceeded to end lane phase 0-6-3 after the Warwick started focusing bot side for dragon control. He didn't understand how her could impact the game being ahead of Riven and instead decided to fight her (alot). Im no top lane expert but Id venture a guess that in a duel Riven wins that fight. Hence his decision throwing away his early lead.
Im new to the game but i knew some of the heroes and item builds (kinda) but the only thing i not sure on what to do is jungle....do u just farm on jungle and not clear lanes i kinda dont know
Thank you for every video you guys upload, they're very helpful and very entertaining
Epic commentary from the man himself, it'd be great to hear from him like this more often
keep up this content guys tier lists we can find anywhere but those kinds of analysis are only avaible here.
Yea ive been trying to climb I had the same thinking as in the video but sometimes your team just doesnt know how to work with a gank like they wont go in
I didn't do too hot but I feel like I kind of understand where Hector was coming from.
I'd be curious to see if I could push a more gank heavy Udyr playstyle since I'm currently struggling to keep pace in levels by farm.
The maokai game was basically hoping for that your teammates will play good and when vel koz finally did something right the clip ends ok learned very much from that
This is the first skill test that I get all questions right! :D
Should I adapt to players changing teams or champions in the middle of the game? Like Ornn and Malphite or Miss and Yuumi switching to Kalista and Thresh? That to much...
i only got 1 wrong which as you mentioned in lux support problem that its un reliable but i initially thought of pathing towards top for obvious reasons but wasnt confident in my decision
Bronze elo here. Could you explain what you said in the first replay? The one where top and mid were volatile and Heimer needs to push in the wave to do anything?
Yes! I love this type of content, it really helps me think about the game in new ways and that's awesome!
Good uploads! Stay consistent fam
5:23 You said in one of your ADC guides that it's benefic to push lane when there's a hook champion so there's more room for hooks. Isn't it the same with Blitzkrank? What are the other factors that decide who should push (besides this and the "melee vs range" matchup)?
I think the answer is that it is beneficial but you can take a lot of poke at level 1 putting you very behind if the ennemy botlane play the matchup the right way. But I am not challenger...
Blitz has his speed up so he can run through the minions to land a hook. Also he can just engage with his E. On Thresh you would need to push as you need the space to hook and its hard to reach the enemy with your E if they see you coming
Yep, they did! The idea is that jhin/blitz would love to push, and this is why Hector assumed they were winning when it actually happened. The *other* idea though, is that Nami can safely weaken minions and poke when the blitz tries to push, so it should never actually happen. Essentially if the Nami/varus (if I'm rembering the matchup correctly) are playing correctly, Blitz can't hit minions without giving up most of his health
Thing is, thinking like a challenger in below dia 2 will just get you killed by your allies. As you said, low elo players don't play the game as it should be played, so planning since before the game starts which lane you are going to gank is a waste of energy. There are so many things that happen frequently; your laner connects to the game in min 2, you get invaded and your laner either uses his summs to escape, dies, or both. There's also the chance that your allies are uncapable of ss-ing, so when you focus on the 1v1 in your jungle when ure getting invaded, you could simply get 2v1d and flamed for dying because ur mid laner decided to sleep.
His method of climbing is 100% viable only in high elo. Before dia 2 there are people that might want to win, but do as much as possible not to(some of them unintentionally). That is why climbing is so hard in my oppinion. There are no identical games. You could have the exact same team comp, ranks, runes, sums etc. and stomp the first game, then get stomped in the second.
The biggest problem is that league is a 5v5 game, which you can play 2v2v1v2v2v1 at most in solo/duo(until diamond). It's complete chaos.
