I love the shell stitch. It’s so pretty.
Thank you I’m planning on making a baby blanket with the shell stitch and I really like this one thank you again
This is a go- to blanket. Thanks for the tutorial. I learned a new stitch at the very beginning instead of just chaining 3. It has much more body and in my 60+ years crocheting I've never seen that in place of a ch 3. More professional. Thank you!
So glad you like it! And thanks so much for your lovely comment. 🥰🌸
What a beautiful stitch pattern! The colors are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for this wonderful tutorial that is super easy to follow with your excellent directions. Thanks again! 😃
Great tutorial! Thanks a bunch! Making a baby blanket for my niece.
You are so welcome! That sounds perfect 🌸
Thank you! Looking forward to starting my first crochet project with this. Your videos are great 😊
❤️❤️❤️❤️ another winner.Lovely delicate stitch.
I’m a beginner and I’m starting this right now using a cake of all blues and whites for a baby boy blanket. My first grandchild is due the end of February!! Wish me luck … I just want him to own something special I made for him… xxx
I just started this pattern in Bernat Blanket and it's looking great. I often find this yarn "hides" patterns but this one works with it really well.
Simply lovely.
Ahhh it’s so beautiful and easy to make. Great tutorial. Thank you 🙏🏼
Very beautiful
This is a very easy stitch. I was apprehensive before starting but actually once I got started it was extremely easy. Thank you for the tutorial.

Hi Rebels I think I tried this on my own years ago and for some reason I pulled it out or frogged it as they say now. Wow yours looks awesome great work.

You’re welcome 😊 I’m so glad
Thank you
Love this pattern! ❤️ you’re such a wonderful teacher! 😊
I have tried so hard to do patterns that do not repeat! Like the blossom stitch. I have tried that stitch and I cannot finish. I have seen your video over and over. But this stitch looks wonderful! Thank you!
So nice thank you 😊
Thank you so much ☺️
This is a nice, quick and easy pattern. Thank you for sharing.
How many skeins are needed to create a baby blanket with this stitch? I'm a self-taught beginner and truly appreciate your videos. Easy to follow.
Love the stacked shells stitch. Would like to use this for a top. Thanks for the tutorial
Wonderful idea!
I’ve never cared for baby blankets that have even the smallest holes in them. It’s too easy for babies fingers to get tangled in them. All though this would make a GORGEOUS adult blanket. 😊♥️🇨🇦🌈
Thankyou yet again for an excellent tutorial which you make so easy to follow. Yarn is beautiful.
Dear Blossom
Thanks ever so much for sharing this beautiful blanket stitch. Could you advise me as to what sort of border l could put on it. Sending 🌷❤🌷 from Mary
Oh I bet this works up really fast too! Thanks Rebekah, hope your doing well
This is beautiful!! What border would you put on this blanket?
Love the shell pattern. Do you have a written pattern? If not how many chains do you start of with?
Could I do the initial chain as long as my bed is? Like 1.60 meters as long as my length is a multiple of 4? Wonderful stitch and thanks so much for explaining so well!!
Would like a border for this blanket please any ideas please and thank you 😊
After several trials, even using a bigger hook for the foundation, my first shell row is curling… I’m using a much bulky yearn , do you think that this could be the reason? Pls help and thank you!
I love the shell stitch and use it as an edging. I was keen to try this pattern for a baby blanket. I have now done my foundation row plus two shell rows but it is curling. If I keep going will it straighten out or does it mean I have to undo and start again with a larger hook for the foundation row.
If you’re having a problem with the first row curling then I’d definitely do the chain with a larger hook and then swap back to the Normal hook for the first shells 😊
I did as you advised and it is now working out well. It is a lovely pattern. Thank you
Is there anyway I can stop my work from curling because even if I use a bigger hook it still curls please help to suggest something and if you could answer me that would be great as not a lot of you tubers do would it hurt if I done single crochet row for this then started need advice help
I subscribed to your channel and I’m trying to do a baby blanket. I followed your instructions but my crochet ( I’m in the third row) is curling. It looks like I’ll have a round blanket instead a retangular like yours. I already done and redone counting everything but no luck. Help me please! Thank you in advance.
Is there a square version of this -starting from the centre going out.
Lovely! Do you think a shawl would work with this stitch?
It would look lovely!
At times I see you are yarning over and then pulling through one loop leaving two on the hook and then two and then two. I have also seen you yarn over and draw through two loops and then Two loops. Hoping to have you let me know if I’m just “seeing things!” Also, I love how instead of chaining three and turning your work to make a straighter edge…I’m having a difficult time following even those small steps to complete it. Even slowing down the playback speed doesn’t help. Do you have written directions for that? Love your video and this pattern.
Would like the written crochet pattern Thanks
How do you get it where there no big chain link gap between when going to then next shell...
Thank you! It’s lovely. WOULD YOU SAY THIS IS ANYARN EATER?
I personally found this to be quite good for not being too much of a yarn eater, certainly much better than the likes of waffle stitch! 🥰
@@BlossomCrochet you’re so helpful, thanks a lot
New to your channel. Which type birder would you recommend for this blanket?
Fantastic! You can use absolutely any type of border that you like the look of ☺️ I always start by popping a round of U.K. double crochet all around my finished blanket and then you can build any border on top of it 🌸 I used Moss Stitch on the one I made and it looks great but you can use absolutely anything that you like the look of. ☺️
If you were changing colors at the end of the row, would you use the typical method of swapping on the last half of the double/treble stitch?
Yes absolutely, that’s what I’d recommend 🌸☺️
@@BlossomCrochet thank you! I am relatively new to crocheting, (have learned from RUclips videos) & just wanted to check. Have a wonderfully blessed week!☺️
How many chains you did
Please could somebody show me how to do a border for this blanket I want to make it a little wider since I finish the blanket please can someone help me with any ideas or show me how to do it thank you in advance
hi this is Sara here haw many chains did you crochet please can you tell me thanks
where can I get an written pattern for this blanket? Thanks
Se podría traducir al español?
How much yarn do you need?
This is really lovely but I am really struggling with trying to keep my foundation row loose enough to stop my work from fanning out as I work up. Do you have any suggestions?
Use one size larger hook to make the foundation chain then switch back to make the blanket
Exactly as Rita has suggested - try doing your foundation chain in a hook that is a size bigger and then switch back to your normal hook for the rest of the project 🌸
@@BlossomCrochet sounds like a winner idea, especially since I just started. 😊
Hermosa !
Luego encadena tres y gira tu trabajo.
We're do I get the written pattern for it please
When you say middle shell stitch does that make it the 3rd one
Yes, middle is the third stitch of the shell 😊
How many single crochets
How many chains do you start for baby blanket
She said multiple of 4, however long you want to make it.
How many rolls of yarn for a baby blanket
Generally speaking for a baby blanket, using DK yarn and 100g balls - I use 3 or 4 balls for the main body and then usually a contrasting colour for a border 🌸
I think this one is hard to make straight if you're beginner because its not explained how you finish each row. I did a sample of 12 on my chain and if I did 3 fans I then don't know how to stop each row as the first row starts with a fan from counting the 3 skipped stitches as a treble. Wouldnt each row start and finish the same and if its multiples of 4 we all should have the same edges to the blanket. I've tried a few ways and still can't finish straight. How do you know when to end on one treble crochet... how do you know to do that as a beginner.
Mine was 12 stitches... skip 3 and do 4 trebles inc skipped 3 makes 5.
I skipped another 3 did another 5 trebles in the 4th. That leaves me in my sample with 4 stitches. If I skip 3 what do I do at the end just one treble so its straight? Someone help 😫
Hi Carol here could someone send me the pattern for the stacked shell it's beautiful thank you
Hi Carol, I only have video tutorials, I don't have written patterns for them at the moment 🌸
Why is mine looking like it's curling?
Is this pattern a yarn hog?
It’s not too bad at all!
I really like this blanket and am making it. However, the stitch joining the next shell is loose no matter how tight I try to make it. This happened on the vintage fan stitch blanket too. I think you need to address how to stitch to get good stiches when shipping in these videos. The blankets are still pretty but not as pretty as yours. I'm using medium yarn with 6mm hook.
How I what to put 2 colors
Such a lovely stitch. Will be starting this one asap Thank you x 💖
