However, I am certain most people missed out on the WiiU being basically dead, and now going "Wow! Vampirian Blood Clones don't take much time to make, if it's slightly different then it would be a different character, DLC was a good thing, while Brawl is slower then Melee, Sm4sh is faster, but yes Sm4sh is slower then Melee
"Too much DLC/clones in Sm4sh" I think you meant to say that Melee had nearly just as many clones as in Smash 4, while having half the roster AND the roster was completely unbalanced, unlike Smash 4 where nearly every character gets use.

Does Mario appear as a Cameo anywhere besides as the announcer? Also why would Mario be the announcer? The only reason I can think is because of the good ties between Nintendo and Namco.

But a 15 dollar controller for a phone is a lot cheaper than a 300 dollar switch that are still hard to find and you won't use because you already have one. Thankfully I helped a friend get a switch so playing this should be easy for me, but for a lot of people two switches in one place is not an easy task. A phone app, even if it didn't have controller support and only had touchscreen control, would have been appreciated as an option and would have made it the most convenient way to play PAC-MAN vs. As it is now, its about as inconvenient to set up as the original was with the only advantage being that they consoles don't need to be physically connected anymore.

I just played this with four players. It's great and very fun. However i hope that Namco/Nintendo fix the connection issues with a patch. We had a very difficult time getting the 2 Switch consoles connected and keeping the connection. The game would also lag during actual gameplay. I never experienced these kinds of problems when playing it on the GCN or DS. Again, I believe that this really needs to be fixed. It's too fun for it to not be working correctly. It might also help to show everyone how to get all four controllers connected. You have to go into the options to connect each controller. Just setting up the controllers on the Switch itself, before hand, will not have them working when you get into the game.
I'm really happy to see Namco recognizing the Namco Museum Series for the PS1 with that menu music. Quite possibly the best version of Namco Museum ever.

Tom Chown The original version of the game on the GameCube required that you had a Game Boy Advance with the GCN/GBA link cable to use as the Pac-Man screen. There was no option to play without it. The new single system mode introduced in this version I feel could have worked with 4 players, had they just remembered Clyde. I still feel the download play capable DS version included in Namco Museum DS is the definitive way to play Pac-Man VS.

It's a shame they couldn't maintain the asymmetric multiplayer without the requirement of another Switch... if you already have a soft-modded Wii it seems more worth it to just install Nintendont, buy Gameboy Advance and a gba to gc link cable, and go that route.
oh wow i finally realized what namco musuem was. i had this game for the wii way back when. and after looking up the games in the switch version i have no interest aside from pacman vs(that game as godly back on the gamecube, i happened to be one of those lucky people with all the necessary parts). I have no idea what the name of the game was but it was like a block +3d version of pacman. That was my favorite game ever on namco musuem and I played that game quite a lot more than i'd like to admit.
Oh my gosh, YES! I was scrolling through the comments hoping somebody would realize the potential! Four Swords Adventures was my favorite multiplayer experience, but it was hindered because of those blasted linking cables! (I never managed to get enough of them, only ever owned one, and still own one. I could buy more now, but my Gameboy Advances are long gone, as in...the batteries seem weak, so I didn't bother getting new cables...)
The story of Pac-Man Vs. has been lost to time. This game was not made together with Nintendo and Namco. Nintendo made it exclusively themselves which is why Mario is the announcer. A few hours before E3 began that year Nintendo approached Namco and showed them what they had and got permission to show it off at their E3 speech. Then Nintendo more or less gifted the game to Namco to do as they please with it. I don't know if money was involved but it kind of sounds like there wasn't.
I love Pac-Man World 2 and it was one of my favorite games on my GameCube, I however did not have the Link cable for the Gameboy Advance so I always just stared at the extra Pac-Man versus Disk sadly never being able to play it
Not being able to play as Pac-Man kind of defeats the entire purpose of the game... As others have said, WiiU would have been a much better-suited console for this game. Still, as long as you have TWO Switches, it should all run as advertised...
NukeOTron some arcade rereleases on Switch do, but if you ask Namco now, they'll say because they want main display to be docked or something like that. Would have been a nice option to have at least.
I don't get why there are only 10 games in Namco Museum. They probably won't make a successor for it on the switch like they did on the PlayStation which got 6 titles. So why not include 30 games or more? I don't see the effort as it is basically the same Namco Museum game since many years. They only changed the title selection and the bezel images with every iteration.

Mario's the announcer because Nintendo EAD, and I think even Miyamoto, worked on the original gamecube version, if i'm not mistaken.

I agree, but it's still something. Maybe Nintendo could release a controller like the Wii U GamePad which doesn't work independently of the Switch but is instead specifically for games like this.
One thing they could've done was allow you to connect your 3DS to the Switch to replicate the original Pac-Man Vs. experience

Strange that you can't have 4 players on one console, seems like a pretty fun idea as a party game (kinda like mario run in nintendoland)
Tom Chown The original version of the game on the GameCube required that you had a Game Boy Advance with the GCN/GBA link cable to use as the Pac-Man screen. There was no option to play without it. The new single system mode introduced in this version I feel could have worked with 4 players, had they just remembered Clyde. I still feel the download play capable DS version included in Namco Museum DS is the definitive way to play Pac-Man VS.
The whole point of the player playing as Pac-Man having a screen to himself (GBA on the GCN, DS with DLP, Switch Wireless Play) is so that the ghost players don't cheat by peeking at the Pac-Man player's portion of the screen. That's actually a very smart decision on Namco's part.
(That's also why non-split-screen play on Switch only has ghosts.)
It's a shame they couldn't maintain the asymmetric multiplayer without the requirement of another Switch... if you already have a soft-modded Wii it seems more worth it to just install Nintendont, buy Gameboy Advance and a gba to gc link cable, and go that route.

This reminds me of the old J2ME mobile version of PacMan, that had bluetooth multiplayer that worked much like this.
Namco Museum ia nice and all but Pacman DX or remixes of classic namco games would be awesome
oh wow i finally realized what namco musuem was. i had this game for the wii way back when. and after looking up the games in the switch version i have no interest aside from pacman vs(that game as godly back on the gamecube, i happened to be one of those lucky people with all the necessary parts). I have no idea what the name of the game was but it was like a block +3d version of pacman. That was my favorite game ever on namco musuem and I played that game quite a lot more than i'd like to admit.

Oh my gosh, YES! I was scrolling through the comments hoping somebody would realize the potential! Four Swords Adventures was my favorite multiplayer experience, but it was hindered because of those blasted linking cables! (I never managed to get enough of them, only ever owned one, and still own one. I could buy more now, but my Gameboy Advances are long gone, as in...the batteries seem weak, so I didn't bother getting new cables...)
The story of Pac-Man Vs. has been lost to time. This game was not made together with Nintendo and Namco. Nintendo made it exclusively themselves which is why Mario is the announcer. A few hours before E3 began that year Nintendo approached Namco and showed them what they had and got permission to show it off at their E3 speech. Then Nintendo more or less gifted the game to Namco to do as they please with it. I don't know if money was involved but it kind of sounds like there wasn't.
I love Pac-Man World 2 and it was one of my favorite games on my GameCube, I however did not have the Link cable for the Gameboy Advance so I always just stared at the extra Pac-Man versus Disk sadly never being able to play it

Not being able to play as Pac-Man kind of defeats the entire purpose of the game... As others have said, WiiU would have been a much better-suited console for this game. Still, as long as you have TWO Switches, it should all run as advertised...

NukeOTron some arcade rereleases on Switch do, but if you ask Namco now, they'll say because they want main display to be docked or something like that. Would have been a nice option to have at least.

I don't get why there are only 10 games in Namco Museum. They probably won't make a successor for it on the switch like they did on the PlayStation which got 6 titles. So why not include 30 games or more? I don't see the effort as it is basically the same Namco Museum game since many years. They only changed the title selection and the bezel images with every iteration.
