Finally someone on RUclips has figured out how to record an exhaust sound. Nice job. I'm picking up an XE this week and cant wait to start messing around on it.
Took a screenshot of your tach, lovely setup, with the simple basics: fuel gauge on left, I think temperature on right, and in the middle is rev counter and gear selector on a lovely black background. So very easy to see the rev counter, during the day 😀😃 Can you tell us how you configured it this way? Picking mine up in two days
I just bought the 1200 XC version! I need this sound. The stock sound is good but not loud and deep like this. All you did was remove the cat? Need a tune?
The Scrambler 1200 has an "auto learn" feature that eliminates recalibrating the fueling/air intake systems. Just put the bike in neutral, start it up, and let it run for approx 15-20 minutes until the fan kicks on. The bike is constantly reading the air flow, fuel jetting, and temperature regulation. Purists hate on the ECU, but that's a really great perk. And WesternUSA, I will be picking one of these up from Free Spirits. TEC posted a DIY video on how to take the cat out and re-weld the joint -- while that would be cheaper than buying this H-pipe, I'd rather throw money at it rather than try my hand at welding.

Man, awesome video and awesome sound. One question: i am about to buy this bike in the exact same config you have, and i'm a bit worried about pipe's heat; does it solves with Decat system?
To be honest I never really had an issue with the stock exhaust heat, and I keep my legs fairly close to the pipes. The decat did reduce the heat a bit in that area. I can only speak for myself but I really don't have to adjust my natural seating position at all because of the way the exhaust is positioned.
To echo @WesternUSA, you should not worry about the heat from the exhaust. It's a triple insulated heat shield that does a great job. You will feel some warmth, but no way will it ever burn or even become uncomfortable.
@@ramblinscramblinadv9554 , actually..I have a very different experience. Having ridden a completely stock XE, I can say the heat was a tremendous issue - even to a point where I just kept my right knee turned way out to avoid burning the inner thigh. I'm getting the XE come June, but will opt for the Zard exhaust with the de-cat kit immediately ( internet research shows it reduces the heat roughly by 50% - will see). Otherwise love the bike!

The baffles are in here. Just arrow exhaust and de-cat. But I have been considering removing the baffles also.
