  • If the theory doesn't make sense, or requires further explanation, I will make a comment that covers these questions.
The entire point of this video is to introduce a potential avenue of the story, not to be right or "as correct as possible".
I would love to hear from the community on this theory, and whether it makes sense or whether this will be shown as proof to be institutionalised lol.

If you want to know about the basic idea behind much of Warframe's deeper lore about the Tenno and related subjects, just read up on the concept of the Jungian shadow. Then head back to the game and look up instances of when the term 'shadow is used. From skill abilities like 'Shadows of the Dead', Sevagoth's shadow form, the junction specters telling you they protect the junction with their 'Shadow life' or Hunhow calling the Stalker Shadow. It all hints towards the same idea: The existence of a subconscious self that vies for control.
That is pretty much how the Tenno were created. Void exposure spit their ego and their ID(the Shadow) and animated the latter. The same thing happened to the adults of the Zariman, but since adults tend to have much more traumatic memories accumulated in their minds than children, their IDs were much more powerful form the get go and ended up taking over their bodies. Children aren't immune to their Shadow breaking through, which is how Margulis got blinded, and why she invented transference. Focus schools were also introduced as a second stop gap measure that allowed the Tenno to keep their Shadow from surfacing even while in the second dream.
Emotions are what feeds the Shadow. It doesn't matter what, as long as they're strong. Anger, sadness, guilt. In the aftermath scene of the Sacrifice, your doppelgaenger asks you if you feel guilty for killing Isaah(Umbra's son, whose memories you experienced). You say you do, your doppelgaenger replies "good". The Arbiters of Hexis' entire philosophy is based on the unification of the two sides of the Tenno, hence their mirrored head helmet design. They reject the Tenno as a mythology and believe that it is a lie perpetuated to limit their true potential.
Ordan Karris/Ordis is also a massive hint towards that idea of the Ego/ID split, with his violent emotional side occasionally breaking through whenever he gets emotional. Rell's reason for having been abandoned by the Lotus was because his mental issues of dealing with emotion made him very prone to succumb to his Shadow - which is what you encountered in the quest.
This duality of control(ego) versus emotion(ID) is also mirrored in the infested on Deimos. The two Wyrms Vome and Fass vie for control in a perpetual cycle. Vome uses blue energy and manifests a straight blue beam, similar to the Tenno's ampless void beam attack, while Fass released a single powerful projectile. Red and Blue void energy is present in many other areas as well. A deeper dive into color theory and how certain colors are usually represented by emotions helps to understand many of the infested's designs, too.
My prediction for Warframe's future is that at some point we will face our Shadow, we will accept him and eventually become whole again, just like the Jungian theory states. That is the biggest 'mystery' that people have been absolutely ignorant of ever since the War Within quest released. That's where IMO you were given enough information about the Tenno to support this theory.

After all of the things I've said on theorycrafting between here and Twitter, I definitely felt like I was scratching the surface. I think, by building theories using this as a framework will connect them in a much more cohesive way.
It makes even more sense when you look at Duviri through this lens. Seemingly, at the peak of their emotions spiralling out of control (Joy, Anger, Fear, Sorrow and Envy) They all either manifest or morph into a Void Dragon, or Orowyrm.
After the battle, Teshin does comment "Emotion is no longer in turmoil. The calm of the true warrior has prevailed." In a more literal way, calming emotions through defeating the Orowyrm. Looking at that in a literal way, this is a calm and collected warrior overcoming hostile and wildly varying emotions.
But looking at it through a lens that involves this theory, it seemingly can't be done without the aid of Transference, or the Operator. The symbol that also represents the connection of Operator and Drifter are two hands reaching out, like an Id and Ego acknowledging and willingly working together.
Who's to say that the Operator and the Drifter, which are two halves missing their betters, are representative of the Id and Ego. The Operators varied display of emotions and the almost stoic expressionless look, especially during the scene where you choose between the Operator and the Drifter. Maybe, since the two are different in age, and control over emotions comes with maturity.
I appreciate your thoughts and time as it helps me appreciate the story and the little things all about Warframe and the lore, I'm excited to see what reading more into the Jungian Shadow will gleam more insight onto!

So what's interesting is that the new war showed us what it takes to get one to tau. We also saw how the void gives life to things that don't have life. I think the next phase will be to see pazul expand his forces to each world.

I had not considered that. Would you like to expand?

I appreciate that you enjoyed it. Surely, there is some way to improve since this is my first attempt at such a video. But I am sure my theory makes sense

I wonder if exploring Tau would be within the realm of possibility for Warframe's future. After partly or completely understanding and "exploring" the void that is.
I think expansion to another system is still posiible story/lore-wise. The problem is tying game systems and mechanics into it. It reminds me of The Expanse series and novels.

I think it would be exciting, but overall travelling to Tau currently lacks purpose. I do agree that after exploring the Void, it could lead back to Tau to go after something there which would be interesting.
I have no frame of reference for "The Expanse" series, and I agree that tying these systems into Tau would be difficult
