- Critics of new EU measures on supply chains and deforestation say they make business and trade more difficult. Bernd Lange, chairman of the European Parliament’s trade committee, says that’s nonsense. He also talks about Brussels’s struggle to seal new trade deals and the coming US election.

Europe will become what they always wanted to be- an industrial and cultural museum
flagpole974: The European Union represents European values and they are not the same as Russia's fascist dictatorship.
@@kkivela Sorry to say, but If you want to impose your values to others you will have war with at least 80% of the countries of the world ! And don't be hypocrite: Has EU really problems with eg Saudi Arabian "values"???
@@kkivelaJoseph Borell garden is being overcome by the jungle 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡🎯😁
@@PeterLamin-pi6rv I would say that recession is taking over Russia.
@@eddastrohmayer251 Wrong. First, this is not about imposing anything, just stopping trade with these countries. Nobody is obliged to trade with China or Russia, for instance. Second, dictatorships do not represent 80 % of the World, not even close to it. Third, yes, Saudi Arabia should be excluded of trade relations. Avoiding superfluous consumerism, changing lifestiles and the greedy mentality while concentrating R&D resouces in ways to reduce dependence on oil is the way.
When you support Genocide Bibi in Gaza what values are you exactly talking about.
underrated comment
"to my friends everything to my enemies the law" western rule based order
Gaza is not massacre according to the host type of EU persons.
if u impose your values to others. Rest of the world do not accept because they also have their value, do not mingle values with economics,
Exactly, and not with foreign security politics either !
it's not about imposing those values on others. It's more about living up to those values ourselves.
If another country is doing something that doesn't align with basic human rights, then we can't change that. But we can stop trading with them.
@@thegreatdane3627 You will not find many countries in the world to trade with ... (please no double standards)
@@eddastrohmayer251 most of Europe, North America, Australia, and several countries in Asia, Africa and South America.
Who cares about the rest?
@@thegreatdane3627 I don't think that many Business men share your view, and not many consumers either. Not to say politicians ... Fact is that the "moral" concept is most of the time a concept of doublestandards and therefore not credible
International law should be respected by everyone - WTO, UNO, ... ! The value discussion brings nothing else but senseless confrontation.
Countries have interests... working on same interests, winwinsituations, brings mutual benefit, not confrontation based on moralism !
Don't make moral to moralism ... moralism brings nothing else but senseless confrontation, in economy as well as in foreign politics !!!
Consumption must balance with production .
Only those who have money have value. Who will respect poor countries without money?🤔
Every country and society has its own values, that has nothing to do with rich or poor.
What value is the EU talking about 😂😂😂. If trade is not in the interest of EU moral values suddenly becomes everything. But once trade is in the EU side, moral value doesn't matter.
With the impending collapse of the German economy, I fail to see how the EU will survive, no other EU country can fill the gap. Most are recipients of EU finances.
None have the financial clout that Germany currently provides. Which is probably why they are desperate to get the UK back?
Very interesting interview, there are so many issues to consider and balance .
Germany accomplice of genocide in Gaza, what values are you talking about?!
It seems like, the Investments in the big lobbies, in the past didn't make any effect right now.
My understanding, everything should be rethought.
Europe has exactly one single value. That is surplus value. And that value has always been, and will always be perfectly compatible with business.
Damn democracy, human rights 😅😅😅
@@PeterLamin-pi6rv Exactly. These are just folklore. As almost everyone can clearly see.
