Very good video. And accurate too. I would have added "trespassing" on "private property". These sir COW's deep pocket customers take things too seriously when people come looking "too close". On the last point, we have to tell it like it is. We Bajans are pro-nature (pro-natural-order) people by our African cultural heritage which does not approve of any sexual relations that cannot lead to procreation. And, we are Christians due to our early European bible indoctrination by which homosexual practices have also been condemned. A combination of both African roots and Early European values in us is why we can never really make sense of modern LGBT lifestyles. Anyone who's offended by this simple common sense reality should try visiting some Islamic countries where homosexuality is punishable by death. At least we here only disapprove of it and the agenda behind it... but we have nothing against LGBT people in general. We even have a small bajan LGBT group here too. Just respect our own values and keep your sexual acts private, and we will respect you back even more. Enjoy your trip in Barbados
Right now due to the volcano ash falling from the near by island of ST. Vincent and the Grenadines. NO. That may change depending on the visibility to land here
I sometimes wonder why my fellow Bajans are so touchy about having their photos taken. Heck, you weren't even taking a picture of the guy, but just his merchandise! I also notice people hiding their faces from TV cameras at public events. It seems almost childish, to be honest. Funny thing is, with devices due to come on stream soon, people aren't even going to be aware videos are being taken. In fact, there's currently a type of Ray-Ban glasses already on the market which does that. While it has a red light that comes on while recording, that can easily be circumvented with a bit of ingenuity.

Good video, but two mishaps. 1) Barbados is. NOT on the equator. 2) Barbados also has a loyal gay tourist scene. So, dissuading them does not bode well for the island. I would say that public displays of affection are not a Barbadian norm regardless of your sexual orientation.
I recently learnt it's actually safe to eat dry manchineels which have long fallen from the tree. But you'd _better_ know what your doing. Otherwise you'll end up in the hospital or worse!
@@BajanLifestyles Yes, it's indeed safe to eat Jamaican ackee once it's been cooked. But it must also be _ripe._ I've eaten it a couple times, and it's quite tasty.

PLEASE READ: 1) Yes …Stupid rule regarding cammo. I didn’t know and on the second day after my arrival, I had a car stopping in the middle of the street with guys yelling at me that I’ll surely be in trouble because of my short 🩳 pant camouflage. And the police will not care even I’m an American Citizen. I had to walk back trembling from the beach to my hotel to change my short pants. 2) “Most” Barbados people are RUDE !!!! Customer Service is nowhere to be found in hotels, stores. 3) EVERYTHING is ridiculously expensive. Prices are 4 to 5 times more expensive than the US…Ridiculous. 4) It’s SUPER HOT with the UV (ultraviolet level) always dangerously high…then it will rain 🌧 suddenly. This is a July 2022 review. I still have 5 days remaining and I can say it’s not the best Caribbean place I visited . Sorry…and no offense to any Barbados person, but you can’t say the above points aren’t true. I’m sure there’s plenty good things in Barbados, but my experience is currently not good.
Blame America for seeding our beautiful sky because it's nothing to do with the climate but about them messing with our weather patterns..Barbadians are suffering because of it..

Most locals dont use sunscreen
This sun too hot not to
I recently learnt it's actually safe to eat dry manchineels which have long fallen from the tree. But you'd _better_ know what your doing. Otherwise you'll end up in the hospital or worse!
LOL TRUE, just as Jamaican ackee can be consumed when cooked. I rather not
@@BajanLifestyles Yes, it's indeed safe to eat Jamaican ackee once it's been cooked. But it must also be _ripe._ I've eaten it a couple times, and it's quite tasty.

Rule #25 don't display homosexual behavior.
One thing about the LGBTQ+ community is that plus sign. They have more letters to add & more behaviors to display.

PLEASE READ:
1) Yes …Stupid rule regarding cammo.
Why would they care if you are an American citizen? You are not in the US.
Im sorry to hear your experience in Barbados was not good, Your points are valid and I hope my videos can encourage improvement.
Blame America for seeding our beautiful sky because it's nothing to do with the climate but about them messing with our weather patterns..Barbadians are suffering because of it..
Hi
Hi How are you?

#26...Do not Misspell Litter "Liter"...that is not a word...not even in Barbados
oooppps, so true. Thanks so much
Hmm, isn't a liter a metric unit of measurement for volume? ... So that probably actually IS "a word" just not the one she meant.
@@juliab8992 it’s spelt litre
@@pvangalder According to both Google, per Oxford English Dictionary, and Merriam Webster, it is *spelled* liter. I will concede that the International Bureau of Weights and Measures spells it as litre though. So, neither are wrong or right, and therefore equally acceptable. Just like color and colour, or gray and grey.
Or spelled and spelt... apparently.
@@juliab8992 Schools in Barbados and indeed schools in most of the Caribbean, particularly primary and secondary, do not accept American Standard English spelling. E.g. color, liter etc. neither do they teach it.

We are way behind accepting sin that's what you say in Barbados why can't we stand up for what is Godly we are not way behind we are being true to God and his word must Barbados accept everything the world is doing can't we stand up for ourselves and do what is morally right and Godly right we in the Caribbean must stand up and think

Manchanilla tree indeed... Cah-rib-e-un instead of Car-ah-b-an. Nobody seems to care much about pronunciations in Barbados.... anything will do.
Not sure why its was pronounced wrong in your opinion. I am pretty good with my speech in comparison to other bajans
@@BajanLifestyles Man-cha-neal is the correct pronunciation for Manchineel. You said, "Man-cha-nill-a"... which is wrong. Also, Caribbean is pronounced " Car-ah-b-un. You said, "Cah-rib-e-un"...which is wrong. Not only do you need to be careful with your speech; you also make mistakes in your writing. For example: "Not sure why ITS was pronounced wrong in your opinion." Note also that Bajan is spelled with a capital B....You wrote, "bajan"...which is wrong.
Thank you for the correction 🙏
@@davidgibbs7573 Caribbean can be pronounced either of those ways. It's like to-may-toe and to-mah-to. Both work, neither is wrong.
@@MM-gp9mb "One thing we're sure of is that there is a wrong way to say it. “Cuh-RIB-be-an” is incorrect. Why is this? If you grew up in the Caribbean, you learned in school that the word is derived from an indigenous tribe called the Caribs. Carib is pronounced with the accent on the first syllable: ‘CAR-ib. Therefore most natives of the islands pronounce ‘Caribbean’ with emphasis on the first and third syllables.
The pronunciation that’s most accurate to the word’s origin and most respectful to the island natives is “care-ib-BEE-an.”
I’ll just stay home then.
Lol Why? Which Do not you dont agree with?
Bajan Lifestyles well if I’m on vacation I can’t possibly run around and remember 25 local rules, like “this tree will kill by poison”, “this tree will kill you by gravity”, “dont wear camo, that’s illegal”.

@@tekha1977 You can't say I'm not going to follow the rules or obey the law cause I'm on vacation, That's just ignorance and stupidity and the most dumbest shit I've heard. Every country has laws that Citizens and Tourist have to follow/Obey to keep them safe, and if you choose not to GAF then you deserve to deal with the consequences of your actions could be jail time or the locals might take matters into their own hands, remember this is their Island.
