As for the Dark Dr. Strange, I do not think that is actually Strange Supreme, as we know he is guarding the pocket dimension that holds Killmonger and Ultron. Most likely the Dark Strange is either Mephisto (insert Wandavision joke here) or Nightmare, one of strange's original villains.

@@jaydonjohnson7507 You can't really blame him though. A lot of the big misses are because of Marvel Trailer magic. Eye of Agamotto? Strange doesn't have it in the movie. Wong's line about not casting the spell? Completely different in the film. Be careful what you wish for Parker? Not spoken in the movie, and the closest line to it was from Green Goblin. The fact he even got somewhat close while being purposefully mislead is still pretty cool.

Mats actually spot on for the end of the movie where Dr strange erases everyone’s memory of peter Parker, rather than it be an entire reboot it’s remaking the character to a more comic accurate one and I love it

Ok, to be fair, the catalyst for the Dr. Strange movie was him being careless while driving. I think it's important to remember that his biggest flaw is overconfidence and him learning how to be humble was part of that movie, so him doing a completely dangerous spell behind Wong's back to impress Peter isn't all that unlike him.

I cannot believe how accurate matt is with this theory. The movie was basically a soft reboot. I hope Tom continues to be Spider-Man. Idk if they meant for it to be a hint or an Easter egg but at the very end MJ still had the necklace Peter gave her in far from home. I feel you hit pretty close to the mark at the end, buy heres something to consider:
Spider-Man is a tragic character, he isn't supposed to end off completely happy, and in the original run, he meets Harry, Gwen, etc in college. So what if this film ends with a mind wiped world, Peter tries to jog MJ's memories, but right before he actually does, he smiles and walks away, leaving a Peter, who just graduated High School, on a path without Stark industry's endorsement, and without any real friends, as he decides he cant put them in any more danger. BOOM college trilogy with a new cast and a more secluded Parker.

It’s in favor for both I think. If song stays they can make more movies if they pull they can make more movies.
sony owns the rights for spiderman, if they pull, spiderman will no longer be part of the MCU... again... just like the x-men and the fantastic four which are cornerstones of the MCU and we're having all this content without them in it

Overall this one was pretty on the nose, and when he said that all the "mephisto" and "multiverse craziness" was too complicated, that was bang on. Though he did miss out on matt murdock cameo, idk if anyone could predict that.

Yeah probably. Although it would have to have some commentary on what choice Peter will have to make, it don’t necessarily think it’ll be a ‘Crazy Reboot’, especially when you consider that ‘One More Day’ is hated *because* it went the reboot route.

Alternate Title: When you think this will be the final Spider-Man story arc for at least 6-7 years, but corporate overlords always win.
There's literally a Sony Spiderverse with Venom 1 & 2. We're overdue for a reboot.
My theory is along these lines. I think that strange's spell works, meaning that the entire world forgets that Peter Parker is spiderman, leading into a soft reboot going forward where noone knows him and he no longer has any Stark Industries assistance, putting him more independent from the rest of the avengers. This would appease the spidey fans who dislike the MCU spiderman for being 'Iron Man Jr.' and also makes it so that if Sony want to pull spidey out of the MCU and into their new Venom/Morbius continuity, they can do without having major ramifications on the rest of the MCU.
I think MCU is at a point where they should have ramifications, but I do think Strange will give Peter a world that doesn't know him by stranding him in the Sony Spider-verse with...No Way Home. (8:38 "That's the name of the movie!")

I don't really see why everyone is questioning Doctor strange's actions in the trailer. Even if he's matured since his initial movie, he's always been a person to push boundaries and break rules in this universe.
Doctor Strange has always been chaos, anyone who has seen his origin movie would know that. I can see him being an idiot like this, thinking he's more powerful and capable than he actually is.
But my thing are his hands, the cold would be absolutely brutal on them, almost debilitating yet he isn't even wearing gloves?

He could have had his old life back, but chose to be a sorcerer with his power instead.

I been knew about the comic which has a similair storyline, it was due to spider-man first siding with iron man they knew his identity. He tried with dr strange, but instead did it with Mephisto. that's not full detail though

Bruh why would he talk about the necklace specifically lmao. Also strange took the gem OUT OF THE NECKLACE. He didn't have another one but its also just a necklace. Easily replaceable/ fixable especially with magic.

the stone was fake, but it is possible that hulk snapped everything to normal, and the eye of agamotto was returned back too

The reboot theory is actually kind of correct. At the end of the movie, to stop reality from collapsing Peter tells strange to make everyone forget he's Spider-Man, he promises MJ and Ned that he'd tell them afterwards. But what happens is that he decides not to because they'd be in danger again. And then he goes into his new apartment, and swings around in his "new" suit.
Because now nobody knows he's Spider-Man, he doesn't have Stark tech anymore, so his final suit is the classic suit.
And in the post credits scene, Eddie gets sent back to the Sonyverse, but a piece of venom stays in the MCU.
ye marvel is still set to have 1 more spider-man appearance in a marvel movie but after there’s supposed to be a reboot but still with tom as peter
Tom Holland did an interview with People and he said it might be the time to bid goodbye to spiderman. So maybe matpat wasnt wrong saying that there might be a reboot.
