For the first time i heard this on the plane, flying back home after visiting close relatives. It was so heartbreaking not to know when we were gonna meet again. I played this over and over during the 8 hours flight. Now, 7 years later,i finally found this masterpiece ! It brought back all the good memories !
Not only was the music breathtaking, but I appreciate the way it was filmed. It’s was very artistic, and quite a few shots added to the beauty of the piece. This song gives me such bittersweet chills... It reminds me of my own Slavic childhood.
We so often hear this played so divinely on strings, that it's easy to forget that it was originally composed for the keyboard. This is how I imagine Dvořák himself would have liked to hear it performed. A splendid rendition !
Dvorak himself orchestrated the pieces, it's not like he didn't want the orchestral version, it was just cheaper at the time to compose smaller works and have them performed, and eventually orchestrated. Many composers, even those that enjoyed success while living, didn't always have orchestras at their disposal to test larger works. In fact, when Dvorak composed the Slavonic Dances, he was rather unknown. As composers make a name for themselves and earn more, they start to compose for larger ensembles.
After more than ten years from the first time I heard this performance, I still think it's so stunning and heart-moving. We deserve more of this beauty in our lives. Thanks you.
I just read this man's biography and I like the fact that he does not aim to winning contests.. He shows that the "recipie" is not the only way to success.
Consummate musicians, both !I cannot imagine a more beautiful performance of this piece.A brother and sister duo - they both shake their heads from side to side and react to the beauty of the music with their head movements and faces in an uncannily similar , and charming, way - the awesome power of genes !
Thanks for your video, which we used as a source of inspiration with a friend of mine while learning this piece. Your interpretation is the most beautiful we were able to find, so thank you 🙂

hymne aux belles histoires d'amour, la rencontre, le coup de foudre, la flamme, le bonheur, l'ennui et la séparation. les bonnes choses ont heureusement toujours une fin.
Wow, I have never listened to opus no 72, no 2 in piano before and I must admit I was skepitical. But I am now impressed I must say, more so by how good Sergio Tiempo and Karin Lechner are. The first and second last movement or dumka was very passionate and deliriously good, with an emotion you can not get from an orchestra, at least not so easy and effortlessly as it is for these two. However I will add that something overall is missing in the piano rendition that only an orchestra can give. The music overall was a bit lacking, not as powerful and as full and overwhelming as it is with an orchestra. Interesting to think that this piece was originally written for piano for 4 hands. But when all is said and done I still give a huge bravo to this performance! Bravo!
love waves......even without intermedia in the middle several tacts are wnough to give the mood direction ........love waves....drops and waves......waves....sea is getting higher and higher...........
Thank you very much. It's a beautiful way to end the week; peaceful, playful, joyful yet a little subdued. Nighty night. I like Ravel's "Bolero" too. It never ends and never sounds the same, although it's the same melody on a loop. Fee Sent from my iPad

I have always loved this piece and have it on a Classical Mix Album. I have only ever heard it played by a full Orchestra so this is a beautiful arrangement for two people on a Piano
@@Annagramma-u7x Another thing that might confuse you is that there are two sets of these dances, Opus 46 and Opus 72, which consist of eight dances each. The dances of the second set are sometimes numbered separately from the first and sometimes as numbers 9-16. Both Opus 46 no. 2 and opus 72 no. 2 (a.k.a. no. 10) are in e minor, but are otherwise very different except that they both end in E major.

You're right. Dvorak is the ultimate romanticist.
Beautiful people playing a beautiful piece

It's not an arrangement. It's the original version. Dvorak originally wrote these dances for piano duet and then orchestrated them.

so good!
This is my favorite preformance of this piece and that's tough to beat considering I'm so biased to my uncle and aunts version.
My mind remains stagnated from this interpretation even long after it ends...Wow...
Bravo
Such an awesome piano musik ❤️❤️
So perfectly!
