Thank you so much for walking us through the fabric choice process with the bountiful quilt. I’m still learning/struggling with color theory and your comments really helped put together those disassociated facts that have been floating around in my head.
Thank you for including my blocks. West Virginia and Marshall University. I would like to add the ‘75’ for the 75 lost in the 1970 air plane crash tragedy.
I was surprised you didn't mention Karen Nyberg, the astronaut who quilted in space. She's worth learning about - and she has a lovely fabric line designed from photos she took while in residence on the International Space Station.
I interviewed Karen when she first returned from Space. There are SO many quilt and space thing, way too many to mention, so I just told you about MY space quilt :) you can listen to my podcast at blog.patsloan.com/2014/01/pat-sloan-publisher-priscilla-knoble-nancy-mahoney-astronaut-karen-nyberg-and-editor-jennifer-keltne.html
Just an FYI Pat, Connie's West Virginia football 🏈 helmet with the "M" is for our Marshall University Football Team...it is so very wonderful to see a fellow lover of one of our home teams, beautiful.
Thanks for sharing the library quilts in progress. Now I have to make that. Well maybe after I make the bright and happy quilt from the shop in Montana. I had to get that once I saw it. Time to get busy!
It is interesting to see the interplay between color, pattern size & density, and value as you make your fabric choices. Watching you make these decisions gives me much more “practice” doing these comparisons than I could hope to get with only my own quilts. So helpful!
Loving how your Make A Wish quilt is coming together, beautiful. It is fun seeing all of the different ways that everyone is coming up with for the Library quilts.
Everyone’s bookshelves are gorgeous and Pat your Make a wish Flowers are so cute, loving your fabric line that your using, hands down my favourite colours. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Hi Pat! Those HUGE flower blocks turned out so very pretty & such soft colors! I like the taupe centers alot. They would make great door hangers 😊😊 I ordered the Steep Rock quilt pattern! My friend has been ice dying fabrics & we're going to do some together to use for that quilt! The library ideas are so fun to see all the variations.
What color Grunge did you use for the background in the Bountiful Charity Quilt? I looked at FQ Shop but there are 15 pages of Grunge. I fell in love with your fabric choice and the blocks.
BEAUTIFUL BOOKCASE QUILTS.
