Love this video and the design. Have always wanted to do a bookshelf quilt and now I have the first 2 blocks finished and loving it. So nice that it is embroidered! Thank you, thank you.
Great video. Because of your excellent ideas I have started attaching binding on my quilts the way you demonstrate. I've had so much success with it and it's the only way I do it now. Thank you for making it easier and for a much nicer outcome.
This is going to be fun! I bought this yesterday and made a sample block last night....a sample because dummy me trimmed the background fabric on all four sides....when will I ever learn to follow directions! LOL..I had to come back in and order the Mylar as it is impossible to find in my town. Thanks for the awesome video!
Excellent video!! Thank you for taking us through the entire process. Do you have a video which also shows how to add batting underneath the border if you are not using a heavy border fabric? Sweetpea Machine Embroidery Designs?
What do you mean when you say we will have to use our own software to customize the book titles? I'm new with embroidery machine. Will the letters that come with the machine work?
Hi, excuse my ignorance but why did you not put wading between the quilt top and backing? Is it because it’s going to be a wall hanging and not a lap quilt. Sorry I am new to this. By the way, very clear and great video.
One excellent post suggested not using batting for each block. Then when the top is finished add the batting and the backing similar to a regular quilt top. I may start over after seeing that. It is so much easier than trimming batting for multiple blocks. Just have fun.
I didn't think you were supposed to stitch in the ditch if your seams were pressed open, but that's what they are saying to do on this quilt. So is that okay?
Sorry, I missed this comment... It's fine to do this as we're stitching through the seam onto a backing or lining so it's quite secure. There is not right or wrong way to do things... this just happens to be our way. By all means, do what feel right for you.
I am amazed how this lady sew over the pins all the time.
We sew over our pins all the time and very rarely break a needle! give it a try :)
What a great video on the bookshelf quilt. I especially enjoyed the binding joining. What a simple way to create the binding. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
I want to make this. Great combination, embroidery and BOOKs, my favorite hobbies.

they did it in the first step
What size blocks were used in this video? I like the finished size!
The 6x6 Hoop! Thankyou!
Any hints on how to do batting, if heavy fabric is not used for borders?

cool
Can i change the “name”of the books?
yes you can omit our book names and add your own
Love the pattern but I don't do Facebook!
You can still purchase this deign without going on Facebook, head over to our online store SWPEA.COM and search Bookshelf Quilt. Thanks
The link is not working.
Hoops where do you get them from
No sure what you mean by hoops?

If this is done with 4x4 only, what is the final size?
four rows by four rows would approx be 17" x 17" finished.
@@sweetpeamachineembroideryd4694 I meant if you used a 4x4 hoop for each block
Is the 'kit' for this quilt available? If so where do I go to order one? I saw no point/place of purchase nor cost referenced. Thank you.
We don't have a kit included for this design, only the digital file. To purchase the Design go to SWPEA.com
😍😍😍
Where do you find the hoop, and does it fit any machine?
The Hoops should come with your machine, if you wanted to purchase more you would have to buy the correct hoop for your machine's brand.
would have been nicer if the guy didn't sound like he couldn't care less
