Just repaired a GOMCO 1532-192AG288X that had to have been made by Gast. I couldn't find the insert plates so I made them myself out of high density graphite sheets I lapped perfectly flat and cut out with a bandsaw. I had to remove the body of the pump and release the interference fit rotor with heat. Once I had the (broken) motor side insert plate removed, I used it as a stencil for drilling the shop made replacement. I then found the motor shaft no longer made a proper fit with the rotor, so I did some powder spray welding on the motor shaft and machined it back down to a 2 thou interference fit. I cut, lapped, and beveled new vanes, using the rotor as a sizing guide. I torched the rotor, dropped it onto the motor shaft, watching it freeze into place, and inserted the new vanes. The final insert plate and neighboring end plate were reinstalled and the unit tested out perfectly. tolerances
I changed the vanes and filter of the pump GAST 0523-101Q-G588NDX, the motor is rotating( at least giving loud sound) but it is not pumping. What could be the reason?
